    i've watched you since the days of not knowing how to launch my own kite until now learning unhooked S-bends. You've always been one of the best instructors ever. Would love to kite with you one day! thank you for making all these awesome videos!!

    Thx for your performance knowledge…. My strapless experience is far away from that kind of jumps. Here in Germany is wintertime, more than enough wind but only 5 degrees air and water, plus rain without end. We hope to get on water as soon as possible and learning more air time skills… best regards from the Baltic Sea

      For sure I know that feeling!! That’s what Canada was like before coming here. It’s more about survival than progression haha

    After trying and trying. Perhaps a good step is to do a send jump from a wave, without catching your board but focusing on keeping it stuck to feet - this somewhat can give overall info on how much time you have in order to grab it. Same time redirecting kite with both hands on bar to fly forward. But still, i don't think that's a solution to keeping kite forward. Especially if we're talking about take off from flat, it just keeps flying over, i can't lock it man....When you bring kite up, it has still that inertia from moving, i dunno how to stop it properly before it flies over 😒 Yet, you have shown clearly in another video that it is possible (How to Jump Strapless Kitesurfing: Basics for 2 methods explained). Perhaps a vid about jumping higher from flat?
    Update: another session, looks like progress was made after all. Yes, really important is a kite work on bringing it up, and this wrist lock. Seems that a lot of small chop is quite helpful here.

    Thanks Fluke. I have noticed your teaching is getting better and better. Introducing briefly the overall steps and then repeating things a few times in different ways. Well done.
    I can see how taking off at slow speed or underpowered can lead to those drops in the water.
    Need to keep that backhand locked and jumó with a bit more speed. Will try to not point the board as upwind when taking off too.
    Quick question. I have been using a rope and one of those ceramic rings in my harness for a while. Do you think they make remaining stable in the air when jumping a bit harder?

      Hey Angel, oh thanks for the feedback and good to hear you prefer the new format :) To answer your question, I really like riding on a rope, and did exclusively for a couple of years. I prefer it actually, and I don't find it feels unstable. I like it better for the movement, easier to position the body. That said, for me as I was getting higher jumps it was more about the rope breaking the turned me back to the hook. The ropes are really strong when new, but over time as it wears i would worry it might break mid loop, so i went back to the hook.

      @@FlukesKitesurfing Good to hear it doe snot affect the jumps much. However you are right, jumping that high using a rope feels less safe than with a hook. I think it is about time to change the dyneema rope in my spreader anyway. Jumping high not a concern for me ATM :)

    Hi Fluke, with how many knots and what size of the wing do you recommend to do the jumps?

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 роки тому +1

      Hey! I like to learn new tricks on my 10M-12M kite in about 20 knots. But once you feel comfortable landing them, then 25-30 knots is fun for jumps. :)

    I've gotta try that landing loop more. I smashed it too hard a few weeks back. Must have had the kite too far over back. I thought the 12m was just too big, but seeing you fly your 12 I realize that ain't it.

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Taco! Yeah for sure, sometimes its best to keep the kite 1 hour in the forward motion, then as you are pulling the landing loop the kite travels past 12 which will definitely soften the landing. You can do that with any size kite :)

    This part of driving kite forward with back hand is next to impossible, better be really precise with kite position during take off.

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  Рік тому

      yes take off position is important. But you will find with practise its easy enough to position the kite with one hand :)
