The riff project has been a lot of fun. At this point I'm gearing up for a full album release for next year. This week I wanted to re-hash an older tune of mine and get a tab video out there. I also put a full tutorial on Patreon for those who are interested. Cheers guys.
i love that your affinity for progressive metal is clearly audible in the "chug chug" thumb rhythms which translate pretty well to acoustic fingerstyle!
@@leafygrreens i think it originated from bass players (victor wooten) and got more popular on guitar side by Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders. A more recent example would also be Tim Henson from Polyphia. He also has a tutorial on that matter on YT. (edit: missed a sentence)
The year is 2006. Young me, at the start of my guitar journey. Stumble upon an Andy Mckee video on UA-cam. Instantly pick up guitar after picking my jaw from the floor. This video just threw me waaaaaaaay back :D
I need ALL of these riffs as full Spotify songs 🔥🔥💯 amazing composition work brotha, take your time, it's well worth the wait. Can't wait to hear what you come up with next!!
0:40 yet again if that isn't that isn't some August Burns Red type stuff it's pretty close ahah! Damn i love your playstyle 🙏🙏, can't wait for that album, i'm on my way to find you on spotify!

It sounds sooooo gooood!!
how do you actually do that thumb rhythm thing? I'm an exclusively acoustic player and I've never seen that technique performed before.

You alternate the plucking between the thumb and index finger or you just use your thumb and pluck upwards and downwards, works both ways
