@@venomous0229 I find it incredible that people refuse to do any research at all when buying a new vehicle.....anyone that buys a Nissan or Stellantis product is an idiot and deserves it
As a rule of thumb, you should NEVER buy a first year generation model of ANY vehicle as all the bugs have not been worked out of the systems. And 2021 IS first year of this generation of Escalade. As for comfort, you are 100% correct. I have severe muscle issues and I needed a new vehicle last year as my old Yukon's frame was literally rotting away and it was unsafe. I sat in the Yukon AND the Escalade, both the old 2020 leftover models AND the 2021 and I was SHOCKED. The seats felt like 2x4's with a piece of leather over them. They were shorter. I was literally pinned into the cabin between the door and console and could not move my legs, which I HAVE to do when I drive due to pain. You are also right about the pedals, which caused me hip, leg and pelvic pain when I went to brake. Having owned 11 Cadillacs in my life, I'm used to the old luxury Cadillacs and my newest is a 1994 Fleetwood Brougham. Not knowing what to do, one of my doctors told me to find a 2007 to 2014 Escalade or Yukon with low mileage as he had them both and said I would be fine in either one. Well, I did just that. I bought a 2014 Escalade with 16K original miles and paid WAY over book value due to the pandemic. But at least its comfy and has room!
@@jvs22_attrition Well, I didn't mean 100% of first year models had problems. One of my doctors bought the newly redesigned 2015 Yukon and had no issues. Its luck of the draw. I have a 1984 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with the dreaded fearful HT4100 engine and I've had NO issues with it whatever. I just maintain it properly and don't push or abuse it.
I totally agree and for the record I’m kinda exaggerating. On technical side my cts does not leave much to desire my cue system is bugged out can Barely use the screen and my dashboard talks to me in Spanish lol and the light on my brake pedal that comes on at night no longer works. But on the mechanical side it’s amazing American engineering at its best. And I always shared that sentiment that it’s not just about the car it’s your drive style that also plays a roll in how shitty or great your exp is with a car. You treat your good with respect and consistent matinence should always translate to a positive exp most of the time
@@dhillaz Yes, that's very true. But unless they go back to more comfortable seats and roomier cabins I plan to keep this Escalade at least 10 years so I'm not all too worried about the value. I bought my '05 Yukon new and now with 214,000 miles and the frame more or less rotted out due to the salt and brine, its not worth anything at all really. My mechanic said he'd give me $500 because he wants the engine and some of the newer parts he put in last year. At least I got $11,500 off the sticker back before GM went bankrupt and they used to offer those awesome rebates at year end!
@Brian Stranyak all gimmicks... most of the essential electronics can be incorporated into old school cars and they would be better once the electronics stop at basic necessity. These new cars are overboard with gimmicks.
Every high end and lasting SUV is around 80000 to 100000 so just saying unless you go for the mid level ones with 5 seating those are still around 45000 to 60000
my experience with mercedes is that they’re great while under warranty… uber solid build quality… run away once no longer in warranty … like most luxury brands
@@erossinema8797 They probably have every fatigue point down to a fine science now. They'll reengineer the stuff that fails to make the warranty period, everything else is between you and Jesus

That's why I own a Lexus, they stay with the same basic power train and platform and just improve it over the years. Reliability is part of the engineering process. All cars have problems but Toyota just does it better than most.
Both Honda & Toyota are coasting on their outdated reputations more than ever now. My 2020 TNGA Corolla SE Sedan turned out to be a disappointment compared to my 2015 Toyota Yaris SE hatch, so much so that I traded my Corolla in recently after only 2.5 years & 9000 miles just to get rid of it. Much happier now with my 2022 Mazda CX-30 AWD Carbon Edition, & Mazda has made great strides in the last 10 years or so at both catching & passing swollen-head Honda/Toyota in quality/craftsmanship for the same $.
@@inctru I'm curious what the disappointment was? You drove 9,000 mi in 2 and 1/2 years? That's basically nothing. Was it just something you didn't like about the vehicle? I don't see how anything could have broken in that short of time. I drive that much in about 3 months.
I thought this video was going to be a bunch of bull but almost everything this guy mentioned when it comes to the Escalade was spot on. My local dealership was excellent. After having similar issues with mine they took it back and traded me for a 2022. I’ve only had it for 3 months and I absolutely love it.
He's right about the comfort factor too! I sat in one as well as a 2020 and they were HORRIBLE. Like him, I have muscle issues. Severe ones. On the advice of my doctor who had one, I got the PRIOR gen Escalade. Got a 2014 (the last year of that gen) with only 16K original miles. What a difference!
Hi there. Your simple but really honest and interesting car review videos are great. I wish you made more of them. I'm literally sitting on a cliffhanger after your S class video, where you hinted at what its replacement was going to be but then your channel went dormant.
Incidentally, the backup camera is a safety system required by federal law. The reason the dealer took the car back so readily is that you were likely covered by the California lemon law. In California when a lemon is returned you get back all of your lease payments, taxes, down payment, registrations etc. less an offset that depends on the mileage used.
Agreed, but a lot of dealers will make you sign some paperwork saying you consent to only 3 months and it’s your fault for not having it inspected by a reputable mechanic before something actually failed. Nobody wants to spend 5 hours signing papers but a majority of car salesman are scumbags by nature.
"Incidentally, the backup camera is a safety system required by federal law.." Only a stupid country would do that. Backup camera is NOT an essential safety feature. For many decades all that was needed were three mirrors and a competent driver.
Yeah sadly in texas the law only applied after certain miles and we ended up with a lemon gm product with a blown turbo, endless to say we ended up fixing and selling that junk
For $90k plus it still drives terrible. The Escalade is not even better than the new Grand Cherokee Summit. The Cadillac Tahoe is just poorly engineered by Big Ten and foreign grads.
Lemon for sure. I've taken mine to dealership twice. One issue was the inability to connect via Bluetooth, while the ambient lighting was also inop. The second time, I brought it in for the "Service Driver Assist System" error. Keeping my fingers crossed, I don't have any further issues. I have 5k miles on it now. I love this thing!
It's refreshing to hear a logical, honest person speak on something that isn't crying about it. You should review more stuff, things that interesting to you or things you like that you think others might find helpful. I like you view and opinion.
Great video. An Escalade isn’t in my price range (except in my dreams) but I imagine this will help a lot of potential buyers. Will be interesting to see what the Escalade’s reliability data shows in another year.
Don't limit your dreams. Get something better. A Honda or Toyota or Volvo. Almost everything beats a Cad. They are far from what they used to be. Thank the bean counters at GM.
You may not be able to buy a new car but can still buy a used one and still get the vehicle you want it will come if you're patient enough...don't sell yourself short.
Oh don’t say in your dreams! You’ll definitely get your dream car. Manifest it! But if you’re desperate look at a 2006 Escalade/esv. I heard that generation is very good.

We put 200k on our ‘07 - only had to do brakes, tires, shocks. We have 90k on our ‘16 and just brakes and tires (but I hate Cue) Still feels like new. Also - pedal positions are adjustable. Plus I’m happier keeping my $$s here vs sending them to Germany or Japan. 3 kids (travel hockey), 2 dogs and tons of road time. The Mercedes and Toyota are too small - glad we love our Caddy’s.
I bought a 2021 Sport Platinum in April ‘21. The vehicle has Super Cruise, Night Vision, Retractable steps, and puddle map I have not experienced any issues to date. I currently have just over 11k miles. I can honestly say that this is the best automobile I have ever owned. I currently own a BMW 750i x drive and a Ford F-150 Platinum as well. I have owned 2 Mercedes including sedans and SUV. I can tell you that my Escalade is way better than every can I have owned. I am sorry to hear about you challenges what your Escalade experience.
You are one of the lucky ones who got the retractable steps!! I searched for a month trying to find a plat Escalade with the steps. There was a shortage from China the dealerships were saying. So new vehicles coming out weren’t given the led steps. I look every now and then on GM parts website for them. No luck.
Not every vehicle off the production lines are going to be lemons. As for the blessed drivers with no issues, enjoy your truck that's why you bought it... GM is going in the direction we need them to go. Side note: the retractable running boards do fail over time.
It's funny you say that, because GM has already recalled 10 Hummer EVs for faulty taillight software which caused the lights constantly stay lit or fail completely. That is not a good sign for a car that currently exists in such few numbers.
It would be an electric trap, an electric chair ROFL ⚡ straight to heaven! What a joke of a company 🤣 I don't know how the sale department keeps a straight face, 🤡
Reminds me of a Chrysler Eagle I had years ago. I won't to into the litany of problems but had a similar situation in that I took it to the dealer for stalling, got it back and it stalled in the dealership parking lot. Another dealerr later told me his salesmen stopped taking them out for test drives because they kept breading down.
LOL all these highly mechanical objects are a crap shoot in quality. Motorcycles, cars, same thing. Wouldnt that be funny if his GLS was built on a Friday evening resulting in being another POS? LOL Hopefully not.
When are people gonna learn expensive is not always better. The more technology you cram into a vehicle the more can go wrong with it. I personally don't want a rolling computer and tracking device.

They've been bulletproof. Can drive a short trip or across the country at the drop of a hat with complete peace of mind in luxurious comfort.
I couldn’t agree more. I’ve owned various Toyota/Lexus vehicles and they all served my extremely well. My 78 year old brother has an ES300h - says it’s the best car he’s ever owned.
Yep. I had a Camry for 15 years that only needed a new radiator in that whole time. Sold it with 330,000 miles. Lexus bought used, had it for 5 years, needs nothing. Son has a '15 Tacoma, all it's needed was a new drive shaft carrier bearing at over 100,000 miles. $100 part, did it ourselves. I have friends with lux cars falling apart constantly. Admittedly more tech so more issues, but most of their problems have been tranny and engine so it's not even the lux things breaking. It's turbo problems, cam phasers, trannies clunking, limp home mode engaging constantly. Pure hell. No thanks.
Love my Escalade so immediately when I saw this video I thought “hater”, but honestly the video was very well made informative, and insightful. You genuinely seem like someone who was excited about the Escalade and got a dud instead. I was think this is from Caddilac doing such a massive overhaul of the vehicle in such a short period of time instead of tweaking things one by one over the years. Kinda the difference between Apple and Samsung. Good review!
That popping sound is a bent pushrod, happened on my Escalade once at 18k and again 29k same side on engine. Also at 35k a buzz sound turned out to be a bad belt tensioner bearing. Total about 3 weeks out of commission. A few electrical gremlins, things don't work then they do again. Purchased March 2021.
I took delivery of a 2021 Escalade ESV in November of 2020 . It is BY far the best Escalade that I have ever had , and I've been driving them since 2002 . My truck was the 1st one on the city , and I didn't even see another 2021 for at least 10 mos due to the pandemic . My local dealer Germain Cadillac , is terrific . Other than scheduled maintenance and oil changes , its been rock solid . In the 15 mos that I'm driving this vehicle , I have put on 31,000 care free miles - I guess that I got the luck of the draw !!
Speaking from 35 years of customer relations at a GM Dealership , well done . The criticism was articulated well . I'm happy you are happy . Also , I do not own GM cars .
Definitely would have taken that for a test drive to make sure I loved it before the $100,000 drop. We love our Escalades we had the 3rd generation ran that to 150,000 miles now we have the 4th generation and up to 80,000 miles on it. They are in their own class when seeing them on the road very eye catching just like Cadillac cars also. The air ride is unbelievable along with the cue system. The 420hp is also a lot of fun still averaging around 18 mpg in town.
I had a 2016 escalade and I agree that it does grab attention but the ride was trash. So harsh and feels every bump on the road. There is no air ride on the last generation. Only introduced in the new generation. I traded it last year for a 2021 suburban. Much better ride quality imo

I worked a wreck the other day involving a 2022 Escalade. Head on collision. The body totally detached from the frame. As I approached I thought he Escalade was sitting on top of another vehicle. Nope. It was the body hovering at an angle, several feet above and over to the side of its frame.
My own experience indicates GM quality control issues. 1st trip to the dealer was for a "drumming" sound that turns out is affecting a lot of the GMT K2XL platform vehicles. 2nd trip to the dealer for a top antenna circuit board due to the base gasket not sealing water out of the unit. 3rd trip to the dealer due to a loud click noise every time the steering wheel passed center. Try keeping your sanity driving I75 when all those micro movements to keep your car in the center of the lane generates a click noise. 4th trip to the dealer for the CUE screen burning out. 5th trip to the dealer for four different identified rattles. The rattles involved the torque converter/transmission where the fix was to put in an alternate transmission fluid. Then there were exhaust hangers going bad with less than 25k miles. The headliner had retaining clips going soft. And the last rattle came from a wire bundle inside the passenger side front door panel. 6th trip was combined with a regular service interval but included a replacement of the portion of the center console that had the cup holder damped covers. The internal gears for the damping mechanism fell apart.
@@SundayDrives I thought so too. I was a big "buy American" guy at the time. My experience with the Escalade and some research revealing how many others have suffered through similar blatant quality control issues have turned my viewpoint 180 degrees.
@@blackice7408 With the Lexus, you will get among the best automotive quality control on the planet. Lexus being the luxury arm of Toyota has a big claim to fame on this. Beyond quality control you also get durability which is a huge issue with other foreign luxury SUV makes. I get the feeling the author of this thread doesn't keep his cars much beyond the warrantee period, so this doesn't really affect him but try selling that Mercedes after the warrantee expires. Mercedes is known for being a computer-controlled vehicle. Problem is that it isn't just one computer. It's dozens which can and eventually do fail. The market realizes this which is why the resell price is severely depressed for Mercedes vehicles across the board. Older Mercedes vehicles are a maintenance nightmare. It’s good that you got out of the lease hopefully have better luck with your cars. I have a ram two and I like it.
I would bet he ordered it without a test drive like most of the people who got the 1st year models. My local Cadillac dealership (STILL) looks like an abandoned parking lot because they barely have any inventory on hand.
I work at a Cadillac dealership and have found that a lot of the years or even cars within the same years are hit or miss. Most likely due to quality control but one car might be perfectly fine and another might be in the shop for weeks. We had a new XT6 in with a transmission failure at less than 10k miles. I drive a 2007 sts with only 60k miles on it and it drives fantastic with no unreasonable problems but another sts I've driven drove like a dog. So unfortunately it's luck of the draw, but that's what warranties exist for I guess... Great video and I love the unbiased commentary. Escalade is the second best Cadillac to exist. CT6 is the best one ever made in my opinion; especially on the quality side. My brother has a 21 Escalade and his has spent a ton of time in the shop. One of the issues is a leaky moonroof that they can't fix (very Land Rover-ish). They are going to swap him out with another. Finally an honest review from an actual owner. Thank you. GM has abandoned building any kind of quality into their vehicles for the last 10 years. They have no idea how to build a seat. Drivers seat is out of a minivan. That’s a typical UA-cam reviewer.
Appreciate the fact you showed proof for your claims. I drive the 2014 limited edition Cadillac wagon which is almost all stock and the issue with mine is the fuse box tends to short out almost 3 weeks apart from the next thing that’s going to go out, whether it’s the heat, stereo, or lights it’s always 3 weeks apart but again my car is a 2014 and I’m the second driver to own it, and I got it with only 70 miles or so on it . Remember every model will have a few that just suck and it’s unfortunate but it is just that. But definitely appreciate your review cause my son and husband are both 6 feet tall and no matter the vehicle I get I want one that suits the whole family. Make more, I like your details and honesty.
When the 2015 came out mine did the same thing, I had so many issues and Cadillac refused to deal with the issues. Now there is a class action law suit against GM for the issues they refused to deal with ranging from 2012 and up. I’ll never buy another GM vehicle again.
The last Caddy that had any style was the XLR. I had a 2008 DTS. At 40K it rode like a Chevy with leather seats. No more Cadillacs for me I’m hooked on Lexus

Hey, just a thought. 2021 we were already deep into the chip shortage basically short on everything as far as manufacturing. That and many more Escalades coming out of the factory that late in the pandemic may have actually been made of "garbage parts" from previous years and leftovers maybe even cross-compatable parts from GMC and Chevy SUV's.
Everyone has a different experience I guess. Have had a ‘21 Escalade since around late June/early July and have had no problems (knock on wood). Regarding comfort, the pedals are annoying to get used to especially when driving a few different cars every week. I’m fairly sure though that mine has the pedal adjustment, so weird that yours didn’t. Also, I do agree that the car is pretty slow, but the drive is really not that bad compared to the last gen suburban that I had.
@@MJ-fj9yv hmm. had a 2019 suburban before the Escalade and no problems. seems that the gm vehicles I’ve had are all more reliable than the other cars I have which are all German.
@@MJ-fj9yv don’t see how reliability of the cars relates to money. every other car i have is more expensive than the Escalade and finds itself in service more than the Escalade. and dw I’m not broke :)
I worked at a GM dealership... this was like every day, I would see brand new Tahoes, Silverados and Suburbans towed in every day... If I spent that much money on a vehicle and it broke within the week I would be sooooo pissed.... maybe it is barebones, but ill stick to my Civic Touring... Didnt JD Power or something like that rank the Escalade as the lowest reliability new vehicle you can buy?? I feel like some pre-purchase research might have saved you this headache... @@gregb9264 I've had my 21 silverado for almost a year with no issues so far, granted I got the turbo 4 banger model, either way the dealer I got it from gave me a lifetime warranty on anything oil touches , so I think that's good

With leasing it he will dump it long before it becomes problematic in 4 years. They're all great and pretty and fun when they're new. But get some years and mileage and heaven help you. Except Escalades, apparently they are junk off the showroom floor.
I had my wife’s 2021 gls 63 for a month and it had electrical issues. It shut down and died on i35 in Dallas. After having it for a week, it did it agian. Those cars are electrical nightmares. I’ve had an Escalade for almost a year and not one problem.
So I have both vehicles. I have a 22' GLS450 and a 23' Escalade . I have the absolute opposite opinions and experience. My boyfriend drives the GLS now, and I'm in the escalade full time. The GLS is so sluggish and handles like a 90's Buick. The sound system in the GLS is on the level of a high end Toyota. I've had to have the head lights and tail light replaced twice in the GLS (they were getting to hot, plastic cracked and let water in). GLS seats are not comfortable at all, third row is way too small. Backup camera broke twice, it would stop flipping open. Module in the air suspension stopped working. I haven't had one issue out of my Escalade, and I'm at 18k miles.
I caught the people at the dealership lying about a needed repair. They were trying to charge me 1,800 dollars for a Thermostat. A thermostat doesn’t show on machine. It just blows like a light. They were so as saw

On the bright side, even at pandemic prices, your 2014 model's value is going to depreciate way less than a newer one.
Not always true, I have a 2016 cts-V3 and it’s flawless

"Incidentally, the backup camera is a safety system required by federal law.."
Only a stupid country would do that.
Backup camera is NOT an essential safety feature.
For many decades all that was needed were three mirrors and a competent driver.

I dodged a bullet. Came close to leasing a 95K 2021 Escalade. The dealer was too greedy with the lease payment and the only color they had was tan. I ended up leasing a new LC 500. I already had a Buick Enclave anyhow.
As a longtime lover of GM full size SUV's. I've noticed that the first year models of a new design usually have issues. Especially the new tech. Rest assured though by 23 and beyond, the tech team at GM is working hard at work fixing the bugs
I hope so, that way no one have to live my nightmare when buying a 105k car.
Correct! Im a saleman at a Cadillac dealer and the first year models are not the best. Buick is actually the most reliable brand by GM and that told to me by our Master Tech who has worked on these brands for 30 years.
How many parts are coming across the border and in installed in Arlington? 1500 are total junk, so how is GM expecting people to trust anything made by the corporation when all of it is coming out of Mexico?
That's why u never buy a car when it first comes out. Common sense
They had issues for decades. Gm ain’t tryna fix it.
I just picked mine up about 3 months ago. I haven't had any issues so far and I hope I don't. But now I know what to look out for.
I found you by accident, but I must say I enjoy your videos just as much as I enjoyed your PMP course!!

I have a 2022 Grand Wagoneer Series III…loaded. I bought 7 year/100k bumper to bumper warranty. I’m protected no matter what, even dents and scratches. Only issue was a re flash of my software to activate lane assist and a trim piece was loose…quick fix. Love the power, comfort and ride dynamics! Interior is tops and it is capable in adverse conditions. Wife loves the power running boards and massage seats. I love the McIntosh audio system. It has radar / night vision too 😉

Doesn't make sense. The older it is, the more things are going to go wrong with it. Usual wear and tear repairs can get real expensive real quick

I have a Tahoe 2021 and I also had the issue with the sound system where it wont have any sound. I drove for a while and stopped and re started and it worked again. The automatic braking doesn't work and has never worked. The heated mirrors dont work either
Currently have a 2021 Tahoe RST had transmission replace 6 months after buying it. Had a bad leak. Then had to have a lifter replace. I think I got a lemon too. Made the proper filing under the lemon law. Still love this truck
Wow, do a video on it. Let the world know about junk GM is releasing.
Ouch!
We have the same car and the only problem we've had is the serpentine belt started coming apart but thats nothing to do with the car overall its a good family car it was just your escalade
Didn’t you notice the pedal issue when you test drive it? The whole point of a test drive is to see if the vehicle is comfortable for you, if the pedals were like that when You test drove it I would’ve never bought it.
If you are still looking for a SUV, the Lincoln Aviator and Navigator are great, I put over 8,000 miles on an Aviator in 3 weeks and it never skipped a beat. Best of luck...
A $70,000 luck of the draw is never a good deal
You see any 2500hd's with trans cooler leaks? Towed a bunch of almost new trucks last winter with that problem. Just towed a fairly new Sierra 2500 that launched the front driveshaft when the guy got stuck in deep snow. Broke the ear off the yoke on the diff. It smashed the engine and it lost its oil. Looked like maybe just the oil filter but hope so cause a new duramax would be expensive af. The service guy said it was not the first one they had seen
Holy shit 8000 miles in 3 weeks jesus christ dude where do you drive
The fact that you work at a Cadillac dealership but drive a Lincoln pretty muddy says it all.
I have purchased a new Cadillac Escalade every year for the past five years, I have never had a problem with any of them. IDrive a lot of miles and trade because my company will pay for that.
I hope it stays that way.
That because you only own it for 1 year. It shouldn't have problems in a year
There's a reason that a used Cadillac sells for pennies on the dollar while a 2003 Land Cruiser with low mileage sells for 30k in 2022.
yeah that reason is the cult following of off road enthusiasts

We need an update 🤔
I had a 2017 Chevy Malibu with the same pedal placement issues. Over a long city drive my ankle would get sore from the constant awkward motions to go between the pedals. Amazing this is an issue on a 100k suv. I was considering the Escalade but a GLS or BMW X7 are fine alternatives. We have a 2019 Chevy Silverado in the driveway that’s been nothing but transmission problems. I think your video confirms for me that I’m done with GM for a while. Thanks for the time you put into this. I hope you enjoy the GLS!
I like fords
Do you usually test drive the vehicles before you buy or do you just buy them "blind"?
I have had the same thing happen with my Escalade but worse! It’s such a beautiful car! There is a wiring issue and the car will let you drive super-cruise with a trailer attached!
He's trying to get SuperCruise this time. GLS is amazing and MB tends to have their act together. Build quality and technology is cutting edge. Love that MB vault-like feel. Hopefully smooth sailing for you going forward.
i agree on ct6 , its sad they got rid of it.... it was one of their best executed vehicles
@@JDMHaze Having spent a ton of time in the S class, the CT6 is easily the closest they ever got MB level quality. My friend has one and we did a roadtrip around the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The thing was faultless. They quit making it the next year; in typical GM fashion. Get it right and then cancel it, like the G8.
@@kclark8080 G8 is perfect example, it was the only holden/vauxhall rebadge that wasnt garbage lol... besides the chevy captiva, which wasnt too bad i heard
@@JDMHaze Geez the Captiva? The SS wasn't awful. Way too pricey for what it provided and the leases were outrageous. GTO did seem like garbage with a Corvette engine, but to each his own, I guess.
@@kclark8080 No I agree I'm putting the SS and GTO in the same category as the G8 since they were basically the same platform... They were good re-badges for at the market thank goodness they took the models from the Australian market rather than the crap they took from the European market to re-badge like the astra, aura and solstice(which wasn't too bad). because those other three badges around the 2005-2011 ish years were awful...
A lemon is just that - a Lemon. Every manufacturer produces them, and sometimes you are just unlucky enough to get one - whether it is a $3 ice cream scoop or a $100K Escalade. I have a 2003 Escalade I bought in 2004 and she is one of the best running and most reliable vehicles I have owned. She has 195K miles on her and will cruise at 80 for 4 hours straight, take a 2-hour nap and turn around and do the same thing all the way back. I also have a 2000 Eldorado convertible and a 1995 C1500 350 stepside pickup I bought in 1995 with 6,000 miles on it and have customized into a show/hotrod truck with155K miles now, and both of them are doing just fine (except for the Northstar with the $2000+ oil pan gasket replacement issues, but I digress...).
Bottom line - Lemon! If you get one, forget the lemonade, just DUMP IT! I am so glad you were able to walk away from your lease - that is unusual, but so is an Escalade lemon.
Do you know if the 2020 Escalade has any of these issues and if it drives more smoothly?
I am sorry about your bad experience with you Cadillac Escalade. I own one, 2021 Escalade ESV Sport that I bought in Sept 2021. I have about 13K miles on it and so far this SUV has been the best car I have owned. I have never experienced anything you have experienced. Be it comfort or reliability, I love my Escalade.

The only thing you’ll ever have to worry about is just changing the oil. That Prius is going to last you a long time
Wow. I know someone that had a Jaguar F- Pace, that was a piece of trash, traded it for a Alfa Romeo Stelvio, broke down after 3 weeks. Was under warranty and the water pump failed! The third time was a charm and a big way. Traded that for a Mazda CX-9. She couldn’t be happier with the Mazda.

Finally an honest review from an actual owner. Thank you. GM has abandoned building any kind of quality into their vehicles for the last 10 years. They have no idea how to build a seat. Drivers seat is out of a minivan. F all these losers borrowing a car from manufacturers for 15 min, blowing loads all over themselves describing the car then returning the demo and driving home in their $1500 Hyundai.

Good thinking
Everyone has a different experience I guess. Have had a ‘21 Escalade since around late June/early July and have had no problems (knock on wood). Regarding comfort, the pedals are annoying to get used to especially when driving a few different cars every week. I’m fairly sure though that mine has the pedal adjustment, so weird that yours didn’t. Also, I do agree that the car is pretty slow, but the drive is really not that bad compared to the last gen suburban that I had.
