Clingman's Dome Sunrise

Clingman’s Dome Sunrise, June 13, 2023, 7:10 a.m.
Clingman’s Dome is the highest point in the state of Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at 6,643 feet above sea level. It is the third highest point in North Carolina and North America. The North Carolina/Tennessee state line crosses the summit of Clingman’s Dome.
The wind was blowing very hard from the north (my left side) and the air was COLD! My hands were almost completely numb from the cold when I started back down from the mountain. A young couple had climbed to the observation platform with baby in a backpack carrier, and that child was not happy at all.

I hope it will be warmer and not as windy as it was when I was there. It was COLD!
