Gday everyone and welcome back. In todays video me and my old man headed up the back of a estuary system to target some fish specifically on prawn lures. I wont spoil the day too much but it ended up being a great session with lots of fish landed.

Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

That’s some of the coolest fishing. Light casting rod just flipping around the mangroves. Also quite and calm. Just amazing. I also love fishing overcast

I actually really enjoy bait caster fishing around the mangroves. It’s a very fun and different style of fishing. Definitely will be doing it again!

So many wonderful times shared fishing with Dad in my youth…..nowadays, I share more recent memories with my son and grandchildren. Some quality fish for the table also. Josh, I would like to see you include how you “set up” the bait caster outfit to lessen the instance of overrun etc. Another great video and production Josh. The bloopers are excellent.

Hey there young fella. Its really great to see you out with the old man casting a line. Takes me back 60 years ago when my Dad spent most of our fishing time untangling
my line, but at least he enjoyed the time we spent together, here in South Oz mainly catching a feed of Tommy Ruffs and the odd bream if they didn't wrap your line around the pylons of the wharf jetty.
Mate, I sent you a message regarding old rods and reels etc recently after your donut session and you said it would be great to do a vid using old tackle. Please check back as I've an old Jarvis Walker rod (never used) and an old Bakelite reel I'm happy to forward to you at no cost as your vids provide me with so many memories of 50 to 60 years ago.

Oh ian mate how’s this message. Put a smile on my face just reading it. I remember being a little boy and getting snagged and tangled and always asking dad to help me cast out. Now I’ve taught my dad everything he knows about lures. What lures work in certain situations and also how to use the certain lure. And yeah I’d be more than keen to make a video on the old rod and reel. What’s the best way I can contact you👍🏼

Yeah 550 was a typo. I turn 73 in April mate and unfortunately my arthritis in my fingers prevents me from being able to do fiddly things with fishing lines etc so I get the fun watching and learning from you. Cheers mate

How do you rate the water snake bruv? Btw these videos with the old man are always crackers 🤙
Only ever used it twice. I got it agessss ago for the kayak. Got finger caught in the gear shaft almost taking my finger off and never used it since. Decided to chuck it on the boat and it’s definitely worth it. Very basic and simple to use. Only pain thing is it weighs a bit. But having a 54lb thrust motor is definitely a game changer for the boat. I’d like a minkota or motor guide one that sits up the front of the boat but this will do for the time being🤷🏼♀️👍🏼

Amazing. Great value for money. The one I used in this vid is the bream surface and it’s just perfect for topwater lures!
