Hey Tango, great vid as always. Your content for this game is very... Satisfactory. ^_^ ❤ Seriously, you are an excellent engineer and architect, kudos to you. But, if anybody is interested how to prevent a mess when deconstructing larger projects, I got 2 pointers that helped me a lot: 1) When deconstructing multiple buildings the game will always place the deconstruction crate (if any) at the last building your deconstruction tool is pointing. 2) The game will never create more than a single deconstruction create for any given deconstruction job, regardless how many items/stacks it will contain in the end, as deconstruction crates are basically bottomless. So to help keep everything neat and clean during deconstruction, I like to first create a handful of random, small "buildings" (best are personal storage containers, as they are roughly the size of deconstrution crates) near an awesome sink. Next I'm gonna select all ressource processing buildings for deconstruction, but point my deconstruction tool at one of the personal storage containers for the final deconstruction click. Then I will repeat the process for all storage buildings inside the deconstruction site, making sure to also point my deconstruction tool at one of the personal starge containers for the deconstruction click. Afterwards, I am just left with belts/pipes, mergers/splitters, power poles/lines, and a few orderly lined deconstruction creates each containing all the ressources/products. This helps reducing the amount of deconstruction crates by A LOT, as the content of almost everything is reduced to a handful crates with thousands of items, and I have absolut control where they are generated. At that point I can just 'Take All' and dump the stuff into storage/sink a few times without running around or moving at all. Cleaning up the rest should be easy going then, as there should be nothing left to deconstruct that would produce more items than my inventory could hold. Cheers and Happy Building to you all (:
@Tangotek you need to lookup a couple mega base tours. There's multiple people that have converted waterfalls into hydro dams and they look INCREDIBLE.
Using foundations as walls can DEF look great. Especially half walls. Try a road barrier halfway into a half foundation and put your window on that. It doesn't look abnormally recessed at all that way.
I have been on phase 4 for weeks now, I just keep building and improving what I have already instead of trying to advance. 50k+ gigawatts, Check. Everything dimensional stored? Check. Cluttered main factory, check :(
As far as power sharding everything, other Satisfactory UA-camrs in the past have ended up sharding everything, using mods before they could be produced. The reason is if you want to go Big, the game starts to chug and lag if you have thousands and thousands of machines. Shards are the only way to cut down on the lag at the end game, if you want to have a huge factory.
1:05:37 Besides awesomeness of course, there is actually a technical benefit to building in the void - pipe logistics are much easier to work with when you're able to build 'lower than water' (ie. by putting machines that use water at a lower height than water extractors, you don't have to worry about headlift)
Tango doesn't like listening to advice on stream, I get it it seems like something that could get annoying. Satisfactory is a game about decisions after all. But with stuff like bio fuel (which he "didn't see the point of") and medical inhalers it's like... come on man you wanna eat nuts all day? It's 5 nuts for an inhaler make it in the workshop.
it's hard to field everything 😅 with all the suggestions in chat for unoptimal things or things he's already doing or things he tried and didn't like, it's a lot of stuff man!! some of it is good but a ton is slop
