And there was me thinking the car wasn't that bad, fingers crossed this is the worst it gets but top marks, jonny cash springs to to mind "Steve patched it one piece at a time..........."
Lets just hope when you go to put the bolts in all the holes aren't gone haha.
haha well im trying to ignore it atm but the other side looks just as bad :D
Colinfurse
Colin my good man, has anyone told you yet that it's not a good idea to fill your rather rare E30 with water?
why are these guys not restoring the hilux
You must be up to £2k in sander belts so far on this build :D you have to bring this to an E30OwnersUK meet once it's finished .
from old mobile phone recording to 4K in a couple of months - what a steep climb this channel has managed!
This is bordering on pornographic for most car nuts.Your attention to detail and form is exceptional. I think if anyone sees these videos thinking this artform is easy and overpriced, they must be shocked by now. Wonderful dedication, skill, and breakdown procedure. Utmost respect to you all.
Masters of metal-smithing, titans of tin bashing, wizards of welding, genies of grinding, and many other superlatives. the best viewing on youtube!
I think you forgot Sultans of Steel!😂
But crap at drawing straight lines with a marker lol 😂
ya but he can weld with his eyes closed haha!@@richt247
What u on about@@richt247
Steve, you’re amazing. Step by step, piece by piece, one job at a time - all of the world’s problems can be solved by following your example.
Wow, this isn't car restoration, this is a master artist and sculptor at work. 🎨
This isn't restoration, this is *rustoration*!
Dinitrol, you can have that one... for a small fee!
What Steve can do with a panel of steel is really a kind of art.
One word!
SKILLS!
Edit:
Just wanna say: I came here from Furze channel, and you guys are awesome!
Love the vids, edits and simple format, it's a joy to watch your fabrication skills and see the progress on all of your projects. 👍
Thank you so much!
@@yorkshirecarrestoration You are welcome AND deserve it brothers!
Awesome! 👍
ASMR for Car Lovers, well done man what you do is an art 👍🏼👍🏼
Loving this series, lads! You're making the impossible look possible on Colin's E30. That inner arch looked like a total write-off, but you've somehow patched it all back together. Top work with the reference arch - clever solution! Can't wait to see the next part, especially if it's replacing that filler neck section...
Steve it’s clear that you love your job just a bit 😂 … I’ve just started my 12th job in my 40 odd years in work and I’ve just gone back into a product development job in electronic engineering, absolutely great feeling. So can really appreciate the love and commitment you show in your work, very very skilled and professional mate, the lifeblood of this country we so need engineers and craftsmen like yourself bud! ❤
Truth be told, I found out about your channel from Colin Furze's channel. On the other hand your content is the reason I subscribed.
Nice to see you back
I have been bored stupid waiting for my weekly fix of YCR craftmanship
sorry we have been very busy this last few weeks brining you guys some exciting future content :)
@@yorkshirecarrestoration it's great to see a business thriving and building up a new and wider marketplace, unlike so many tv programs about car restoration where it's all made up,your channel is down to earth and honest
Don’t forget the music
This car is an IRL ship of Theseus... is it even the same car at the end? Incredible work.
It'll be like Triggers broom 😂
Damn. You make it look easy sir. Time laps helps. But it's hard to do what you do. Years of experience right here.
You guys are some incredible craftsmen. Kudos on the work.
Thank you we do appreciate the comments :)
Incredible work, that filler neck replacement was pure art.
Man you're a metal artist! Great job so far, can't wait to see the it when you finish it. 👍
Craftsmanship. Pure and simple. I love this channel.
It's a good thing you didn't acid dip the car to get rid of the rust - there would have been nothing left!! This is great workmanship and superb attention to detail. I also came here from Colin's channel and am enjoying this!!
“Same again, just a different shape”.
Well, indeed. It’s getting that perfect panel fit that’s the skill & art.
Lovely to watch, Steve. You’re really fixing the world by focussing on what’s in front of you and needs your skill.
I like how you approach a thing most people would be too afraid to take on, no matter how loved the car was. One step at a time and boy do you get the job done!
You are a true craftsman! It's a joy to watch you work.
Flippin Nora Steve - what a display of craftsmanship - impressive 100% 👍👍👍👍
Such patience, it's obvious you have been in the trade for a while and do good quality work, I am 56 in another trade but get where you are at. Amazing to see the sheer rusted out shells you work on over there, we just don't get that type of corrosion on our roads (North West coast Tasmania) and my 1995 commodore ute is still rust free after 280,000km(the first 20 years of it's life were spent in the wild West coast of Tasmania but the owner was particularly fond of regularly putting it on the hoist and spraying diesel oil everywhere). Love your work.
a true metal master at work a pleasure to watch and learn from
Beautiful work, it's a pleasure to watch a master at his craft.
Good on you BC Racing for getting on board.
Fabulous skills. E30 one is my favorite Bimmers, I’ve owned two so I’m glad to see this one and the red E30 wagon being restored!
It's coming on nicely, Colin will be pleased. That new racing suspension is to good for an old BMW lol ❤
your fabrication is incredible
Hi Steve, thank you so much for this vid, I really enjoyed this one. Thank you for all of your hard work. Paul from Widnes
He's much more of a "by the eye" fettler than his son, who likes the paper templates and measurements a bit more. Either way, the end results are amazing to see!
I'd have settled for either doing my 1978 RS Mexico or Mk III Escort RS Turbo
Bit like an experienced chef doesn't need to use a measuring cup or spoons as much. I'm sure his son will trend more towards the way he does it as he gains experience
You are a magician Steve, thanks for sharing !
You can still get inner wheel arch Ml performance has them
thank you but then again where the fun in just welding parts in :)
very impressed with that metal manipulation to create a work or art arch, you made it look easy great work
Thank you very much!
Just want to say u guys are amazing the work you do is unreal i no what its like welding up these old cars id love to be able to fabricate the way u guys do keep up the good work i found ur channel when u was doing matt Armstrongs car and that is looking unreal. One of my favourite UA-cam channels for sure keep up the good work ur channel will grow very quickly i reckon with in a year ur have a million subscribers no problem
Fascinating to watch the process of making a complex part. The order you do the shaping in. Thanks for sharing
Blimey Dad! I was getting worried about you guys.
I need my YCR fixes on a twice weekly basis.
Bostin work as per usual.
Wow 😮 it’s like plastic surgery for cars. 🚙 Your attention to detail is on point 👍 I truly hope once the car is finished, Colin’s channel will give you guys the recognition and respect you rightly deserve. It’s absolutely fascinating watching everything you do 🙏👌👍
Astonishing work. Thanks for sharing it with us. Always be safe work safe. Love from Korea. 🫡👍
Getting into some serious "Car of Theseus" territory here.
Lovely work!
I have absolutely no intention of doing rust work on any car. Still I just love the videos. 20 minuts of pure relaxation watching expert craftsmanship. Thanks
I'm sure Colin thought the car was grand! Just needed a touch up here and there!
Every car has more problems the closer you look
You,ve outdone yourself . Nice repair. Regards Chris
Your craftsmanship and ability to "take one step at a time" is inspirational. Can't wait to see the finished car
Really diggin the tunes in this one.
Love the show , I live in Australia we don’t have salt on our roads , only people who live at the beach have rust like that ! We call them parts cars ! I admit doing that kind of crazy to VW s many years ago. It’s like climbing a mountain some people think they have to climb it because it’s there. Better to walk past it and get on with something worthy of skill . Cheers
I´m a handworker too working on AHUs and a bit used to work with metal plates. But Steve you are not only one of the best handworkers I´ve ever seen with your calm and professional style. You are an artist! This is absolutely amazing and definitely the best that could have happened to Colins car. Keep up that good work! Greetings from germany.
Love the backing track great videos mate
I really enjoy watching you shape the new metal parts on Colin's car. I feel like I am learning a lot. Please keep making videos like this one.
You are a real sheet metal artist! That fuel filler neck part, a work of art!
Ayup Steve hope you and the fellas are well great video but hell as a BMW E60 535d owner that is shocking how bad these earlier cars are 😳🤔🇬🇧👍🏻👏👏
Wonderfull way you tackled that difficult inner arch repair. Am I right in thinking of this adage in bodywork fabrication, "For difficult and complicated panels, break them up into smaller parts and fabricate each and then stictch them up together to make the whole".🐝
Again I am amazed at your skills. You show us the disaster, and then make it look so easy to repair. 😊
Brilliant video, looking forward to the next one
Hey Steve, your patience is absolutely admirable.
I am amazed each and every time you start cutting, shaping, hammering, stretching, and welding of steel and other metals. You are truly a superb artesian.
Great work yet again......
This video alone shows why Collin brought his vehicle to them, the cinematography paired with the low-fi music during the sped up intervals alone is classy, and highly appreciated. Top quality work here sir, First video ive seen of yours, and im def subscribing
Definitely a case of just when you think it couldn't get any worse, it gets worse. Heroic effort here. That next bit looks to be event more challenging. Thanks for sharing!
That was absolutely beautiful to watch. So much raw skill on display. From someone thats been doing this for 30 years, bravo. Watching you build that filler neck pannel was absolutely joyous 😊 you made something so complex look easy.
Dinitrol. We even do miracles!
INCREDIBLE !!!
Thats impressive Steve.
having recently found your channel because i'm teaching myself how to mig weld, i find it very interesting to watch and if i didn't have a interest in classics i would tune in just to listen to the music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! many thanks for making these videos.
Its always a privilege to watch a master craftsman at work........thank you Steve! 👍🔥👍
Great work.
Incredible work as usually!
thats a work of art cheers
My father was a sheet metal worker ,he would have loved this ,amazing skills

Special as always.
It always amazes me what you can achieve with a hammer and a sheet of steel. 👏
Great repair that inner arch ,nice work done as usual from you guys!😎👍
Ace work as ever. It’s pretty overwhelming to look at. Love the way you break it down into manageable sections.
Man,you‘re such an artist ! WOW

LOVE your work. I learn so much confidence from this alone - for my projects.
You are really an artist with sheet metal. It is amazing what you can do to fix up that car.
As always, a real education watching how you approach the fabrication process. Thank you once more and best wishes.
that's some metal-working magic right there!
