well it's not random when i destroy it. i try to save as much as i can but i'm sorry, if it's the difference between 5 seconds and 5 minutes, i'm cutting it.
Around these parts they completely destroy the back seats and interiors looking for change. They also empty the fuse blocks… every single vehicle.. wtf?
MAAAAN, I havent seen an ef hatch in my local pick-a-part since....... ever. They do get a FWD wagovan every once in awhile. For the most part ANY Honda or Acura is like a helpless calf falling into a piranha filled river, and if you're not there when the car is placed, you're not getting ANYTHING good. Manual swap components, heads, Intake manifolds, rear brakes, and those awful ej/ek door panels are ALWAYS the first things to go. I was actually in contact with someone at Hasport recently, talking about headers for a k24a3 ek swap. I appreciate the fact that there was some actual back and forth in the conversation I had with whoever it was.
@@VTECAcademy LOVED watching you guys build that little ef. My first car was a 91 DX Hatch that I swapped a twin cam ZC into, made for a formidable street car, 25 years ago. lol.
I used to be that guy that will break parts to get to the part I needed, then one day I broke a part and went back the next week and needed that broken part.. so from then on I took the extra time to take things apart correctly
All the salvage yards have closed down here in Sydney, Australia. A combination of liability insurance premiums and unwillingness to stock old cars like early model Hondas. These Hondas are being scavenged by people who want to retire when they're 30 - the prices are just ridiculous but I'm told scarcity = dollars! I used to go to the local Pick'n'Pull at least three times a week as well as weekends but alas those days are long gone! I love these videos and you are doing us a service by not only hunting for parts but explaining the use of the parts, and their role in upgrades and engine swaps. Do more of these please Brian. I have an 1991 hatch with a B16a, a 1993 EG sedan with a JDM B16a, and an EG3 track car with full K24a swap (mainly using Hybrid Racing parts).
I wish i had a junkyard like that where i live.you talked about a 6 cylinder engine for 350,at the one place here where i live ,the shop will get the part for you ,and it will cost you an arm and a leg .i was looking for a door shell for a late 90s corolla at this place, their price was about 200,without glass, and in a different colour than the car.those corollas are so plentyful here.i went to another junkyard found exactly what i needed in exactly the same colour with glass,i great condition for 40 bucks.
I have a full tsx k24a2 swap in my ek. Running oem dbw with stock ek gas pedal and cable shortened to fit the accelerator pedal position sensor. It can be done!
I hate it when people tear shit up just to get a part damn just take your time and get it the right way so the next guy can get the part he needs with out it being torn up.
I feel being 6’4” tall I have a huge advantage being able to see over all the rigs to the one I want lol. Also means everyone can see me in every store I go to as well.
Here in Puerto Rico junkyards dont usually let people take out stuff themselves , so most of the time parts aren't cut and mangled still sometimes the junkyard workers itself are the ones cutting and braking stuff or the parts are imported but its not that common, sadly most of the times junkyards arent as affordable here as you have there on the states
Hello u doing? I love ure videos they are just full of info. Thank u so much for ure help..... as much as I would love to do this on my own I would rather get a professional to do it .. Were are u located sir.pls let me know I have a 94 civic coupe I've had it since high school I'm 40 now and just want to restore it slowly but surely.. thank you hope to here from u soon..God bless u all and happy holidays 🎉
Love your UA-cam channel. Yall have helped so many people in the engine swap world. Have you done a complete video on doing a K swap into a 96 civic? What I'm looking for is any information on doing a K swap in a EJ8 chassis but using the EJ subframe, while maintaining the power steering system and AC system. I'm pretty much wanting to do the swap but making it look OEM as possible. Any information you or anyone else can help provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently doing a B18B1 swap in my EJ8 but B series stuff is either getting too hard to come by or the price is getting ridiculous. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Hell yeah now the im off work I'm gonna hustle like that I already bought a 199 civic EX for cheap and gonna fix some issues cleaned and sale or to the moon 😅 plus make some cash on parts sale
I live in WA state junk yard will sell you a k20 block for like 600 dollars just the block trans like 800$ idk why I wanted to buy a ef hatch bumper like 5 years ago wasn't even good condition and they wanted 300$ for it
our 14 civic si got totaled on the wifes way to work.. by the way the mounts held up great..what is the easiest body to swap everything into..i got this eye sore crushed up car sitting on the pad.
Not gonna lie, I'm jealous of just watching you walk through the yard. As a 52yr old guy just trying to keep 2 91 Accords on the road, I'd go there just to look around. Now though not having a pick n pull since Hurricane Michael Cat5 demolished the City in 2018, it just makes things that much harder. Anyway love your content, and it would be an honor to just listen and pick your brain ngl. I hear you like cb9, I gotta 5pd. Can I get a quote on a k24 swap? I'll ship it to you. fr
People wrecking parts for no reason has to be the most annoying thing at a yard. I've seen folks denting doors and fenders for no reason than to just walk away afterwards. Go buy yourself a punching bag if you wanna throw a fit at something.
It's annoying when people randomly destroy stuff at the yard
I agree bro it's shitty an usually what I'm after has already been broken
Yeah trashing stuff to get to your part is a scumbag move.
well it's not random when i destroy it. i try to save as much as i can but i'm sorry, if it's the difference between 5 seconds and 5 minutes, i'm cutting it.
Yes! That and leaving the parts they took off away from the car. Just throw them in the back seat for crying out loud.

That’s the third one I’ve seen in the last year. The first one was in decent condition and I sold it to Nolan at Donut.

Cool dude thanks for being respectful
Love going to the junkyards but always have to make the trip to PA from NY

Absolutely!

Yes, we’ve done it with the J35 and J32 DBW engines
Pretty good point some people don't care they destroy really good parts.

I have a spare CMC/Reservoir for an EM2. Wish I could have just sent you that.
Really enjoyable junkyard visit video! What kind of camera are you using to film this?
DJI osmo
@VTECH ACADEMY, question what year is the easiest civic to awd and k swap? I've been wanting to start a build and i think i may start it in 2025
Id start with an eg or ek
@@jakefalcons found a guy on here that has full details on an EK build down to the last bolt. So im looking for an EK shell now
Good stuff 👍
Is your episode of PINKS available to watch? You raced a VW Bug that wrecked.
It’s $500+ now in California.
$300 buddy 😂
@@joeygutierrez2657I may have to grab some long blocks when I come visit. It’s too good to pass up.
Oh Brian, I can feel your struggle. "... I don't NEED one of these". How do you pass up a solid EF?
Why do you Stateside people still call them "EFs". That's not an "EF".
Jeez it's 2k for a titled ef hatch roller here!

Is it a complete waste to use the k24 from a second gen CR-V for a swap?
Where is this salvage yard
Phoenix, Arizona
our 14 civic si got totaled on the wifes way to work.. by the way the mounts held up great..what is the easiest body to swap everything into..i got this eye sore crushed up car sitting on the pad.
Second or third Gen Fit or 2015 up CRZ.

Where is your shop in Arizona, I am looking for a good shop close to New Mexico?
We don’t work on cars.

I've got to be one of the few people that have no interest in DBW shit while swapping.
No, the majority don’t care about DBW.
@VTECAcademy I've had bad experiences with the lag they have with throttle response and throttle let off.

Where can i go to get my k24a4 fixed by vtec academy?
In your own garage after you watch some vta videos😂😂😂
@ nah homie. Incant do like they do
Forreal. Send me info. Dm me
My k24a4 its been thru honda dealership all its life. Have the sales sticker for it and 3inch thick binder full of original receipts. Always honda oil
They're not a repair shop. You'll have to find a different resource.
Lol. I prefer how to yard with Robert!
We used to yard together
@ I know. So funny!
you will never find a used engine in California for cheap all junk yards are asking $800
not even😂😂 $350 for a motor and $350 for any trans lmao
