Esprit Marching Band - Grade 3
The hit movie has stirred renewed interest in this ground-breaking Broadway classic. The familiar opening strains are nothing short of stunning. An impressive opener for the field!

The theatre kid and band kid in me is loving this.
Meeeee! 😂 and now I want to play this sooooo badddd
Same!
@Kiex [GD] i played this in band. My favorite song. I played tuba
Let them out????
@@alexbradberry1496 no
Did you know that when only one flute is playing this it sounds like a baseball game? Cause it does, and it vexes my practicing deeply
😂😂
@@calebray22 oooo
@@jacoboneal9831 ?? 😐
I think something similar happens over on my clarinet part
speaking iof this is playing in my head as houston beats boston! haha i'm a mass res but i loooove texas!
This’ll be fun to memorize.
Said every Freshman ever.
Took me a month to get it down 😂
I’m a snare and I will admit it was a challenge because this is my second year. I learned pretty fast, so had to learn this my first year
as a freshman this isnt super bad to memorize
I was a freshman last year and my band got this piece out during band camp for our show and fall parades, I had it memorized by like the 3rd day of band camp.
@@Snowball1763same!
sophmore here!
bruh i have never bopped so hARD IN MY LIFE
I primarily play euphonium, and i really liked the trumpet part, so it took me longer than it should've to convert the notes
What kind of euphonium do you have? Because over here, euphoniums and trumpets are both in Bb. Or are you an American and playing bass clef?
Koen van der Linden Wait, is treble clef standard for euphonium in Europe?
@@koenie228 only trumpet players who convert to euphonium read treble clef, bass clef is the standard for people who start on euphonium
Yo euphonium is my favorite show. I love zendaya
@@alexbradberry1496 i chuckled out loud at this
Oh my gosh! This past marching band season was phantom of the opera, and I have many memories!
To be honest, I like my high school band director's arrangement better. His arrangement has the original intro to the song, and even more complex rhythms like the original as well. I miss marching band so much. I'm so glad there's alumni night now though.
What instrument you play?
I’m playing this year for marching
This is first
Psycho
Heathens
Paint it black
It’s going to be awsome
Same!! Going to play this this year!! Whooeoeoheoeoeoe 😂😂
My band played this when I was 7th. Still have great memories playing this with them ❤️
I played clarinet in high school and this was my pump up song. Listening to it brings me back 😭
My dream show was doing either a Phantom of Opera show with people on the field singing while the band is the background music and the guard do some of the prop things, or a musical movie show.
I did a musical show with my MB and honestly musicals dont go well with shows in my opinion
Just purchased this for my son's 7th grade band. Can't wait to hear it!
So I got to see the Musical for Phantom of the Opera and I instantly wanted to play this in band. I search this up and try it on my flute. About 2 days later I find out 8th grade gets to play it and not 7th grade. I got sad😂
Raptor Squad ik how you feel ;(
Aww that’s sad I’m in 7th grade and I play this on my clarinet
You play this in middle school?
Anthony Leon I play things like this in pep band and I’m in middle school
Raptor Squad just ask one of the 8th grade kids to print you a copy they’ll probably do it
We are playing this song for our opener, masqurade, wishing you were here again, and music of the night for our closer.
SO EXCITED TO PLAY THIS FOR FRESHMAN YEAR!!!!! YAY
In marching band, we play a similar version of this and we also close with Swan Lake, Being the only first trumpet throughout our show, my chops are done for 0-0
Omg we played this last year for ninth grade marching band.!!!!!!!!!!
lana Warren im playing it this year for 9th ^~^
well im in cg
We're planning on playing this in MN Brass, drum and bugle core
lana Warren I played this in 4th grade
we're playing this in 6th grade, i feel overworked
Marching season just ended for me and we did phantom as our show. I'm in 8th grade
When we played this for a spring concert I think it sounded cooler cause I love low brass and out low brass section is huge
I’m playing this for marching band this year
Please tell me you will release a Masquerade version....
GloriousCow let's all hope
They just did!

Sydney Claire that’s my show this year lmao

John Clemash ?
Dude I have the sheet music already for it, we’re playing it already and we just started like a week ago
Joshua Lastname brooo sammeee 😎
I love the show. This arrangement of amazing.
This version exists almost nearly 20 years ago....
My daughter is playing this in lampasas High school for her 9th grade year!
We played this for our 7th grade Christmas concert ✌🏻
how is that Christmas themed? lol
Playing this now for the end of the year concert {symphonic band}
This is the order
The phantom of the Opera
Music from the pirates of the Caribbean
Flight of Eagles
I would love to have an Andrew Lloyd Webber show that would be sick I love this song so much and this arrangement gives me chills.
Enid High School’s 1996 (i believe?)show was Phantom of the opera. It’s really good and it’s on YT, would check out.
PEDRO F CANTOR played this song in 2013!
It was incredible!!!
Alexander Salazar, they were played "50 ways to say goodbye"
Danny Arboez they was played....???
Alexander Salazar sorry xd they were*
Danny Arboez I think u are trying to type that PFC played 50 ways to say good bye as well, right? XD
Alexander Salazar :v
My band played this during Halloween parades and it was reallly funn
Not sure if it was this version but in high school we got to do a whole set of Phantom of the Opera music. Was fun playing music that the crowd recognized and enjoyed.
Oh good god... I have snare for this and this is my first year marching
meh i have clarinet and its my first year marching this year xd
i know this is two years old, but godspeed soldier
this music helped me so much thank u
Love this song thank you
OMG I love this
We are playing and practicing this for a band competition
i heard this is my head last night when Houston Beat the Sox! Muhahhaha
We play this for homecoming every year, and oh my god it’s an easy song but we play it over and over and it’s so tiringggg
My marching band is playing this as the first part or our show. We're also playing Mambo from West Side Story, This Land/Circle of Life(not the first nine measures tho cos it's bRoAdWaY themed), and Defying Gravity from Wicked. ' u '
Gilmer high school is playing this, this is an amazing song on a real one
Football homecoming 2017
My band is playing this song this year
I’m playing this for seventh grade band
wow my marching band takes this really fast apparently. i'm a clarinet and i can't tongue the section at measure 9 as fast as we go :(
I know that kind of hurt, my teacher put that song in the band more fast... after the concert, everyone was dying :'(
(I'm First trumpet, so do you can imagine the pain I was having)
It just takes practice. My Marching Band is doing it this year, and yes it was hard to tongue at first, but we(we being me and the other two clarinets in my marching band ; - ;) got it pretty fast. I had a hard time fingering the transition and lower eighth notes as fast as it is.
The art work in this sets is amazing shame you couldn’t get one of them but still a great video
Yo our band did not play this good today
Wow! Technology!
Gamer 360 XD
Come on. You had one job. Why do the trumpets have the melody instead of the horns, like in the original?
I get it. Instrumentation and a large band, there’s gonna be more trumpets to carry the melody, but this is our thing. Let us have this one thing!
Plus 26 and 36 are kinda underwhelming with the trumpets leading and not the fuller horns
A wild Filing cabinet they sleep on us horns
This song is louder and more forte so it makes more sense for trumpets to have the main melodies because they pack more of a punchy sound
My 8th grade band class played this for our concert
I’m playing this and monster by skillet this year
best ever!!!!!!
I’m literally singing along 😂
totally doing this next year!!!!
anyway's were playing this song right now actually our concert is march 2ed but were playing the original watched the movie to and i blair through most of the melody when the tuba is carrying
question when is march 2ed
April. It's the 2nd edition of March
Amazing
Hey so I know this is a grade 3 piece, but in the 3rd to last measure, why did they not just double dot the note? Its a bit weird to me
I played this on 2nd clarinet. By itself, the main beat sounded like play-doh commercials.
I did this show this year
i feel awesome cause i already played this XDD

1:05 best part
Somehow I have a trumpet 3 part for this
Dammit I was trying to write my own 😂
Wow ist cool
0:34 When the low brass finally get a good melody part. What is this?
Wow
Is this for concert band or a pep tune
0.75 speed honestly fits the original tone of the song
My mom's high school played this one year for marching band. And they lost by less than a point because they went over by 7 seconds.
Marshall Godwin my band last year lost by .05 points
@@brodycarter9240 I think that's how much my mom's band lost by

I thought it was the Iron Maiden theme...haha
Lol same I was expecting something to carry Paul's lines
Banda municipal de San José con su guardia de folclóricos
Im not in marching band because i suck i play trombone when i play i sound like a second grader playing and im a freshmen
MariSol Rodriguez practice, work on tone, and try to get your trombone in tune as well as yourself as best as possible. Counting helps as well to keep time. Maybe playing not as strong as well. Playing strong, and not being as experienced as say a senior typically results in tone and being in tune being thrown out the window. Don’t worry, it gets easier with time. I’m not sure if these are your issues or not, but I’m sure they may help you in some way (I play trumpet, so may not be completely helpful).
My band got this last minute for a concert and it sounded almost nothing like this (the only good sections were the flutes clarinets and trumpets 💀💀)
Trumpets should play the last note up an octave lol
Oh dear god no, high notes are hard for us dude
@@lullafool5106 lol I don't have high notes
-Bass Drummer
Sounds best at 0.75 speed in my opinion
C'MON, you cant add a piccolo flute and not have them do the high not part. As a flute player(not a piccolo flute). I am offended!
Jk dont take this seriously
Where’s my trombones and baritones?
Lezarana venara victoria sandaraa
where r my snare drummers smh
I’m bothered, I clicked hoping this was the Iron Maiden song
Same
I wish I played trumpet-
