I'm not even super baby. Hiking in Florida, I need water every few miles. Even day hikes in TN and GA AT I can only go about 3-5 miles before I need water. Kelly is definitely a super hiker going 30+ mile per day even mon consecutive days. Floridahanger
I enjoy the documentation of your hike and I really appreciate you noting the mileage between resupplies. Also, I find that the stop-over-town tours are helpful. For those of us who are tentatively planning thru hikes,....that is all very good information to have.

Just recently got back from a trip to West Palm Beach to visit some family I had not seen since 2019. Fell back a little ways on your kids but now I'm all caught up. Just recently started section hiking and the trail I'm working on I plan to finish before Halloween. You are a huge inspiration for me Kelly and I hope someday you and I meet along the trails. Kelly, a FYI... ( I LOVE Glacier, Yellowstone and the Teton ranges).. Here is the tip, though possibly out of date.. From Leadville to Twin Lakes.. Awesome hike but the water sources back then were completely dried up.. Nothing was accurate on guthooks and the other apps and sites I was using.. It may be flooded now as far as I don't know.. While I wasn't going to use my InReach for a rescue.. I stumbled to a road and met up with someone who had a HAM radio.. Zero'd out rehydrating and wondering why the eff everything people were posting was inaccurate.. Don't remember ever getting that answer... Moved past the scheduled burns there south of Twin Lakes and really paid attention to water sources and how much I had.. I truly LOVE the CDT, and especially Colorado.. But, I learned to never trust reports if it is my arse is in the so called cross-hairs.. (No water)... Sorry, not trying to be a "debby downer".. Just sharing! ;). Thanks again for posting up your experiences... I have NO doubt that you and your treks are inspirational to countless people... ala.. Put away the damn games (etc!) and go experience the world people!
