I made this and love it. Only thing I did different is I added butter powder to this mix so all you need is water, just in case of a SHTF situation. It came out fantastic. I added 12 tablespoons of butter powder to the entire recipe given here and it has a great butter flavor to it. Just thought I would pass it along to anyone.
Deana Wade I used about 3 cups of water to 2 cups of mix and a pound of pasta and it was just about right. The sauce was nice and thick and coated the pasta very well. A good ratio to start with is about 1 part of mix to 1 1/2 parts water.
I made this and my family loved it!!! I dehydrated my own cheddar cheese and ground it in my coffee grinder because the cheddar cheese was on sale for dirt cheap. We are just now finishing our first jar of this. For my grown children I will be making this to put in their Christmas box. It is perfect. Thanks for sharing!
Linda I've been watching a lot of your videos lately because I am trying to start dehydrating and stocking ahead. I feel very comfortable and with your examples and find them VERY helpful. Thank you
My fav and I quote " I guess that's the nature of the goodness". I'm new to your channel and I love how you just get to the point taking it back homemade.=}
Linda:. Please do a recipe book! I am 70 and having a hard time listening to the video and writing instructions. I would gladly be first in line to purchase. Maybe your daughter and you? I want to begin a food storage program and give some premade meals as gifts. Thank you! I realize you have been through a lot this year. You have a lot of living ahead of you. You bring joy to a lot of people. Never let them see you sweat! Hu
Hi Linda, I tried this and love it. I live in a sailboat so dry foods are it is perfect to have on hand. It would be great for RVers also. I am also planning to go on a cruise. Your dry recipes are great! Thank You
I think Katzcradul has dehydrated sliced turkey breast. Check out her dehydrating video where she shows many things she had dehydrated. One question asked was about dehydrating turkey. Just scroll down to find it. I hope this helps . I haven't dehydrated poultry but have made Katzcradul's beef jerky, using ground beef and it is great! My hubby is a diabetic and he grabs some for his pocket when he is busy with a project.
Awesome! I love alfredo! I think I would have to alter it to add just a touch of onion powder. I had no idea how it was made. That is really cool! You don't happen to have a recipe for queso without the salsa? I give you 5 yums up! Wow! Just made that up. Quick! Copyright that for me! LOL
Great video! Can this be added to dehydrated broccoli, noodles, and mushrooms and sealed in a foodsaver bag with a moisture pack for long term storage?
Love your videos! I have question about long term storage of this sauce mix, will it keep long term with the parmesan cheese in there? I thought there was some moisture in the parmesan cheese.
Re: canned meatloaf recipe. Bexarprepper has a canned meatloaf video. Haven't tried it yet, but i have no doubt about anything she cans. Thanks for the mix recipe. Always looking for menu expanders. :-)
Linda, thank you for your videos I truly enjoy them!! There's a message that prints over this video showing "I added another half cup parmesan" but it doesn't say what you added it to. Did you add the other 1/2 c to the base mix or to the batch you were cooking in the video. Thank you for your reply!! Have a Blessed Day!!!
TheJoyfulCottage What a shame this didn’t get answered. I saw that message a couple of times. Strange. But I am sure I would like to figure this out and try it!!
I'm going to make this but I need to leave out the Italian seasoning because I may want to use the sauce for something else other than something Italian. can I use really good Parmesan that has been ground up?
Hey Linda Thanks for the great videos. I was watching your video on the Alfredo Sauce (dry). I missed the one ingredient that was 1 Tbs of Dried ? flakes. What is the 1 missed ingredient. It came in the video right after the salt. thanks
Is that non fat powdered milk? If not where do I get it cause that's the only kind that is in my store also where can I get powdered buttermilk I didn't know there was such a thing? can you post the actual recipe to the powder & how to mix it after cause there is some sections of the video I couldn't hear well?
Is that possible to can a full meal already cook , like beef stew, that when I want to eat I open the jar and reheating and eat?? Most of videos I looked it’s "DRY" recipe in a jar?
Just tried this recipe, turned out great. Was wondering if it's possible to use butter powder in lieu of melted butter & just your mix with milk or water?
Deana Wade glass jars and vacuum sealing prolongs shelf life, keeps bug transfer from happening and keeps rodents from getting to it... baggies do none of this
I was actually looking on how to dehydrate Alfredo sauce. My daughter brought a whole case home of it and I cannot use it all in one setting. I do want to dehydrate it instead of freezing it. Please help me if you can! Thank you!
hey Love nfa I am really interested in trying to make this but I can find the powdered milk or powdered buttermilk in stores anywhere. Where did you get them?
Hi Linda: Your video starts off with adding 1 C AP flour, then the powdered milk, etc etc. But later comments have all the ingredients but NOT the flour. Is the flour omited or included????
Im going through some of your old videos while I wait for you to start up after your break x Question. You put milk powder in with mix why add milk after the roux?
I think it is just for a little more richness. She says you don't have to use milk, but can replace it with all water. I like the idea of a portion of each, depending on one's own diet and taste preferences.
Vicki Olson Hi, Vicki. I vacuum seal it with my Food Saver attachment for wide-mouth jars. I typically only use a few tablespoons at a time. When finished, I just reseal it and back in the cabinet it goes. So simple and it's just as fresh as the day I bought it years ago.
Just take notes as you re-watch the video....it is all there....if you did not catch it, add a half cup of parmeson cheese powder to the original 1 1/4 cups that she started out with. She also said that it was not salty enough...she started with 1/2 teaspoon salt, so maybe make that 3/4 teaspoon salt. You can always tweak it more when you are making it such as adding a little more parmeson powder to it.
awesome thought - but you missed the point of the prepper thought of this video ... camping - SHTF issues ect .. we might not have the luxury of heavy cream ect ... but these shelf stable recipes will last properly stored for 7-10 years and when others are havin tuna every day ... others will have this wonderful meal...

Robert Kessell how much water do you need then?
Deana Wade I used about 3 cups of water to 2 cups of mix and a pound of pasta and it was just about right. The sauce was nice and thick and coated the pasta very well. A good ratio to start with is about 1 part of mix to 1 1/2 parts water.
Robert Kessell Thank you Mr Kessell. I appreciate you answering so soon. I"m eager to make this.
Can you please tell me how long I can keep this in a sealed jar?
I was just going to ask her about butter powder in stead, thank you! Bless you

I’ve now watched a ton of your videos. You are a phenomenal cook. I wish you had a cookbook, I would surely buy it (and drool over the photos)
Linda I've been watching a lot of your videos lately because I am trying to start dehydrating and stocking ahead. I feel very comfortable and with your examples and find them VERY helpful. Thank you

Thank You
I can't wait to try making this recipe!
I think you need to write a book. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I just made a huge batch of this and I omitted a little milk and added sour cream powder..equal amounts!
The shour cream powder sounds amazing. How does it alter the taste of the sauce?
Kris Hopper where do you get sour cream powder?

Awesome! I love alfredo! I think I would have to alter it to add just a touch of onion powder. I had no idea how it was made. That is really cool! You don't happen to have a recipe for queso without the salsa? I give you 5 yums up! Wow! Just made that up. Quick! Copyright that for me! LOL

Love your videos! I have question about long term storage of this sauce mix, will it keep long term with the parmesan cheese in there? I thought there was some moisture in the parmesan cheese.

At Winco or online:)
@fletcher3913 That's how I do it. You will love this.

Why yes it can:)
Can give a list of all that it sounds great

thanks for this recipe, i was having a hard time hearing what all she put in, reading it is much better for me. :)
In most grocery stores in the baking isle:)
@Allen2045 It is delicious!
@kwrock1190 I would say that's pretty darn close:)
I was thinking of wheat flour. red, with the nutty flavor; how do you think that would taste?
It can be stored up to a year:)
Do you store the mix in fridge? Or pantry? Thanks
At the store:)

after this alfredo mix is made, is there anything special about keeping it. Vacuum seal or is in a jar alright. Can it be kept in ziplock bags.

I don't dehydrate chicken:)
How are you storing the mix? The dry buttermilk container says to refrigerate after opening, so you would have to store this in the fridge.
I have bulk, organic, dry buttermilk powder that's been in my cupboard for two years in a vacuum-sealed mason jar and it's PERFECT.
+FarmbyGardens But that is vacuum sealed. Do you re-vacuum seal it if you only use half of the jar and have half left over?
Vicki Olson Hi, Vicki. I vacuum seal it with my Food Saver attachment for wide-mouth jars. I typically only use a few tablespoons at a time. When finished, I just reseal it and back in the cabinet it goes. So simple and it's just as fresh as the day I bought it years ago.
Pantry in air tight container:)
Linda I wanted to try to make this but I can't get cheddar cheese powder. Can I sub it or leave it out?
They sell it on Amazon.
they come up auto with the sub list
Do you have printable versions of your recipes?

Well almost..how do I dehydrated all of that? Butter? You say it makes the dish..
How do I print out recipe
Where can you get powdered Buttermilk and powder cheddar cheese?
Any grocery store carries the buttermilk. I get powdered cheese from the Honeyville site.
Take the cheddar cheese out of a box of mac n cheese, just use the macaroni for something else.
Cabot cheese makes powdered white cheddar cheese. It's great. I used to use it for scout camping.
