So cool! It’s been a long time (1969) since I first watched a board being glassed. Thanks for triggering good memories; I’m still smelling the resin as I write this.
No matter i accidentally came across this video but now i want to leave all my life goals and want to assist this man in order to learn the making of surfing board. Amazing Man
I hope this is an art that is never lost.....I always love going into surf shops and looking at all the glossy brand new boards. I was saving for my first board and went in there to put money on it for 5 weeks.....loved going in to look at the gloss :)
The production of this video is perfect you really make it look easy for the amount of effort you put into this. 4 years later and I still come back to this to take notes
First class workmanship sir, you should be very proud of the level of finish you have created, it looks absolutely stunning. Even if you do not surf it would be something nice to just own and be proud of.
I never surfed, never will, never cared. My country doesnt have a single surfer..hell not even a sea! But yet here I am thx to YT algorhytm and praise brilliant handy work of random person. Good job. Pleasure to watch such process
I dont know everything about surfing boards anf even surfing. But I enjoyed watching this video. So satisfying and amazing. That surfing board will relieve my stress after work if I have that in my room ❤️
I grew up on the beach and surfing till after army duty and haven't surfed since now live near the Arctic circle and miss those times so much...it's been 30 years I've watched a few of these vids...it's dream I never fulfilled but get to watch someone else living it is cool. Keep it up bru.
Not a surfer or into surfing but I recognize and appreciate craftsmanship when I see it. I'm glad UA-cam recommended your video. I'm glad I took the time to watch the entire video. Nice work!
I start remembering time when i make a surf board for sale in Bali It was awesome day All unique request like 7 Fin socket and many more They are real Somewhere out there in japan (at least 11 years ago) this surf board are monster at 5.11 ft, with around 4 inch thick body and pointy nose This is real monster out there With 5 layer fiber and extra 3 layer at the fin tail... This is what i called a master piece for me
Wow my dude. The overwhelming audience of non surfers you have here is impressive. Sick shape. Usually been shying away from the gloss coats but will do on my next build. Thing is shiny!
First video of yours I saw turn up my feed, just love watching skilled crafts people doing something the clearly enjoy doing. Would love to see more art work.
Nice board! I just finished making my own board. Haven’t had it in anything good yet but so far I think I really like it. I paint acrylic on the foam. Much easier than tint but tint look sweet. I learned something watching how you taped the pin line using the narrow tape you pull off. Thanks.
There are a lot of steps to make a Surfboard and when they are done correctly, you end up with an incredible piece of equipment that is beautiful to look at, very strong and very light.
Thanks man! I have no idea what was playing at that time. I’ve got a bunch of Spotify playlists that I’m always listening to. I like all types of music.
I didn't want to watch it at first....but ..as I started to watch I can't stop it , it was being interesting to me... But funny thing is that I don't know 😖 for which purpose you have made it...but!Your satisfaction
beautiful Craftsmanship I started surfing inthe late 1970s ! Became a professional Woodworker, now retired and I’ve wanted to build a Wood board using cold molding boat building techniques for some time now I did build my own Wakeboard out of wood no plans it worked but my next one I will do differently with a torsion style frame a cedar strip exterior using the West System I’ve always wondered why modern Surfboard building hasn’t switched to Epoxy which I feel is better than resin
Right on man! I love working with wood and hope to someday build a wood board myself, but know how much work it will be so I'm procrastinating. Epoxy resin is starting to get used more now that EPS foam is getting more popular. I think most glass shops have held onto polyester resin for so long since its cheaper and has faster cure times. I'm switching over to epoxy myself because I'm tired of the poly resin fumes!
It’s beautiful. Just like my 1977 Barry Bennett. I wish I had this information when I was home building my own boards in the 80’s. I made a real hash of the glass jobs.
It's amazing the southern season has just started so it's more like a small Hawaii and the eastern coast which works from May till October is full of right hand point breaks. One day you should come visit Sri Lanka.
@Tanner super work and craftsmanship here! Makes you appreciate the amount of effort that goes into a custom slab.... How long does the process take from shaped foam to completion? 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thanks man! Pros crank them out fast but I’ve got a day job and kids so I only work a few hours every few days after putting my kids to bed. So it takes me a long time, over a month for a board. Filming also slows me down. It’s just my creative outlet.
I don't know how I came here, but I love it! Congrats for your work, even I don't understanding most of the process, but can recognize the result is Amazing!
This is one of those videos I didn't know I wanted to watch until I watched it. This is a very cool process.

It was awesome. Eyes were glued to it till the end. Simply satisfying.

Amazing. We all need to appreciate how much artistry/hard work making a decent board is, before we start trying to haggle £50 off in the shop.
Agreed and well said
@@BendheimBoards whats a good price for board for beginners?
I’d say get a used board or soft top. Short board used you can find between $100 - $250

I don't even surf, but I want to now. What a beautiful craft and lovely end product. Found watching this process very satisfying.

What a wonderful job. This is the reason why I buy hand-shaped boards and not factory shapes. This is real craft.
Glad to hear it 🤙
