You said something that has haunted me for all 42 years of my life and I’ve never found an answer to it. You mention lunch dinner and supper as separate meals. What time of day do you eat supper and is this a common term where you live? My mother‘s family were farmers in the midwest of America, my grandfather was from Galway Ireland ( I’m sorry I know how annoying it is for Americans to keep mentioning how Irish they are and where their ancestors are from) originally. They always called the midday meal supper the evening meal dinner. I grew up saying it and I always got weird looks cause everybody else I’ve ever met calls the midday meal lunch and uses supper and dinner interchangeably for the evening meal. I thought it may have been unique to my family and by the time I got curious about it, my grandfather and all of his generation he passed away.
