Fethiye is on of the most amazing places being coming for years second home people lovely not being for a few years but back next week can’t wait lots more restaurants since we last came thanks great video lots of information 👍🏼
We are so fortunate to own a property here and spend 7/8 months a year living here, if you don't like Fethiye it is very unlikely that you will like anywhere in Turkey 😊
Bin stuck to the same place since 2005 and it's not a problem for us but if it's not for you then there's always a warm welcome in the Canaries apparently 😅
Nice one for another great video Ronnie.. Victoria and I are back 29th August and we're definitely going to try Mancero! Bar bunn and Address were other recommendations of yours that were fantastic so no doubt this will be also! Love the Guinness deals at Deep blue aswell.. Keep em coming mate as they really do make a difference to our time in Turkey 👌
Great video Mr F, enjoyed it very much. We're travelling here soon, what's the name of that fish market restaurant venue please? It looked fab and definitely want to visit during our stay. Cheers👌
It's called Fethiye Fish market....inside all the restaurant s have different names..just ask directions to the Fish Market...or in Turkish balik market
Great video, looks amazing! I'm coming to Turkey in August and was planning on spending a few days in Fethiye. I wasn't sure whether to book accommodation in this area or more towards Calis beach but after watching your video I think I'll stay in the old town area. Can you tell me roughly how much is a pint of beer or Guinness here, and is it better to use cash or cards in these bars and restaurants? Also could you recommend somewhere to hire bikes in the old town area? Many thanks.
Deep blue bar in the video does the best draught Guinness I've had in Fethiye or surrounding towns and resorts plus they do a happy hour every day from I think midday to 8pm/9pm.. I think it's around £4 per pint.. Another plus is it's in the shade because that August heat is ridiculous.
Dave gave good info....There's a place just directly behind the post office in Fethiye that does bike hire...5 minutes from the old town. There's a lady Dilek Aikman who's on my FB group Mr Fethiye. She has a nice Air b And B ...old town.
Me and 5 of of my mates (21 yrs old) are thinking about coming here this summer as we want a bit more of a relaxed holiday compared to last year (aiyanapa). Would you recommend and is there a decent nightlife ?
Fethiye has an old town and in the summer it's jumping every night. But just up the hill 15 minutes is Hisaronu with crazy mad nightlife. So you could chill out in Fethiye and if you need to party just taxi up the road.
Hi. Do you live there in fetiye. When did u move there. What is it like living there. My friend lived in icelmer for fifteen years and now lives in koycegiz. She loves Turkey. Is it easy to move there mate
Hi..iv lived here 23 years. Its not easy to move here unless you buy a property as rentals are high and residences getting more difficult. Its wonderful here. A great place to live if you can.
@@mrfethiyeootandabootturkey1888 yes. My friend lives there as I said and she really likes it. She comes to England and then can't wait to get back there to Turkey
Just back from Fetyie today and have to say after a decade of visiting various resorts in Turkey this was the worst. We ate on the marina and this was the worst meal of our holiday , I found the shop keepers very passive aggressive despite wanting to buy. Fetyie area is beautiful but found the Town a real disappointment .
Thank God someone agrees, my experience is the same, food is terrible and yes most importantly the shop keepers are shockingly rude and aggresive we had alot of children with us and they showed zero respect. The surroundings are breathtaking that's the only positive!
Wow sad to hear. I think the food is amazing here but it's not everyone's taste. As for bad shop keepers that's not on..the council do not encourage that and there's people to call..the zabita if you have a bad experience....
Hometown? Your accent does not sound Turkish. Also, "small town" doesn't seem to fit a place with a population of nearly 200,000 people. I understand painting this in a nice light, and to each one's own, but having read many people calling this a "quiet place," the video does not give me that impression. If it's this crowded and busy and loud after midnight, it paints a different picture to me. Would you say it's more of a party vibe, and/or can you recommend a place on the southern coast that might be better for peace? Thanks
Hello Jack. Thank you for your comment. The reason people say quiet place in Fethiye is its the surrounding areas that are loud in comparison ie Hisaronu and Oludeniz which are half an hour away. Trust me when I say it's incredibly peaceful to walk around for as you say a population of its size. The main town is small and has character but its full of parks and cafes with a laid back vibe. I'm not making it sound good for video. It's great genuinely like this. If you want to party ofcourse there are many place to go to. The promenade is long..very long and lined with cafes and restaurants, no loud music. I am indeed Scottish not Turkish buy its my adopted home as iv been here 24 years. After all this time I still love the place. You would also. As for quiet coastal towns nearby. Try Kaş , it's wonderful. It's sleepy in the day but if you need bars it's there also but my recommendation.
@@mrfethiyeootandabootturkey1888 Well, you don't know me, so I'm not sure why you are telling me I'd like it. I appreciate the extra information. I do not seek out bars or noise, I prefer quiet atmospheres. It was recently recommended as a quieter part of Turkey, and so I became curious enough to look into it and found your video. Kas has since popped up as I look around Airbnb. As far as traveling without a car, do you think both would be reasonable? I guess I'd fly into Antalya for these places? Some of my concern comes from what little I know about Turkey being a loud, more "in-your-face" place, and my reference point of coastal Balkans where I couldn't stand a small town in Albania that catered to tourists, and what was nice in off-season became unbearable the nearer it got to summer (I left before things even got into full swing). You couldn't enjoy the beaches at all. Party boats going out every hour blasting music loud enough to hear from several km away, people constantly bothering you to buy drugs, pandhandlers lining the entire boardwalk, almost more trash on the beaches than sand... It was not a nice experience. Even in my apartment, due to culture and construction, you would constantly hear neighbors, people yelling outside... I just don't want anything near a repeat of that. If you have suggestions for finding a short to mid term rental that would be in a calmer area with better building materials for soundproofing, I'll take them. Thank you!
Well I do not know you as you said so how can I advise you. I think you are correct. Please Google the areas to get an idea. My videos are not the places you seek I believe
