      You don't understand. It's ridiculously difficult to focus when you are suddenly in a different time zone with jet lag and hardly enough sleep. Ding arrived very late and without even a second. He got no time to prepare because he was busy qualifying when everyone else was preparing.. I hope Magnus refuses to play only because it would give Ding a shot.. he's one of the most deserving candidates as of now. 😉

    This is by far the most motivational Candidates in recent time. Come on, Ding couldn’t play necessary matches to qualify for candidates, he had to play at 4 in morning, and hikaru proved that he is not only fast but also furious. Also not to mention, Ding is without any second or team to prepare. Nepo is on fire of revenge. so many storylines!!! It was a roller coaster.

Ding proved that he is still a beast and a worthy challenger after the last minute inclusion controversy and a bad start. Hikaru proved to the chess world that he is also still a beast, a streamerman that won Grand Prix and 3rd at candidates.
      It's kinda sad for Fabi. But he seems to lost interest in the tournament after the fact that it's almost impossible to be 1st. He seems doesn't care about being 2nd.

    @12:25 "if you now capture [on e4], we just play f3 ... that would be silly" not really, because Black could play Ne3+, and then move the Rook.

    @8:10 "the Knight would have to move" the only square the Knight could move to would be a5, and then after ...Rxa3 White would be able to capture on a6, as that pawn would not be defended by the Rook on a3.

  • @hoomanov
    @hoomanov 2 роки тому +2

    You cant play f3 to after rxe4 because of ne3x, its the same variation. You have to play kf3

    Was really pulling for Hikaru on this one, but if he's going to lose to anybody, I'm glad it was Ding.

    I really hope Ding wins the battle for the title of World Chess Champion against either Nepo, or even Magnus, because, although I believe Ding would have a hard time with Magnus, I do think that he has a good chance of winning against Nepo. Only thing that really screwed him over in this tournament was the defeat against Radjabov, but then again, a 15 year old Radjabov defeated Garry Kasparov and ended his long wing streak.

    at 12:31 if you take the pawn on e4 with the rook then you have f3 attacking rook and knight, but what am I missing after Ne3+ so white has to move the king and the rook can move to let say back to e8?

    Wow, did not expect Hikaru to botch like this. That Bd8 instead of Rd8 was a really weird move, shutting the rook out like that.
    Oh well. Content-wise it would be great to see Hikaru in a WC match, but of course Ding is a great player and well-deserved. A poetic bonus is that he stole the candidates spot from Karjakin's bloodstained hands. ;)

      Yeah Ding Liren ....could've been Sergey Karjakin. But at least Hikaru wasn't top 2 >:)
      WOOHOO!!! GOD JOB DING LIREN ON BEATING HIKARU NAKAMURA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HIKARU SURE GAVE US QUITE A SCARE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA #9LX #saynoto2900 (It's a long story the hashtags are related to this.)
      (Ok I'll tell you the story. Magnus Carlsen is Wesley So's enemy re #9LX . Sergey Karjakin is Magnus' enemy re #saynoto2900 and Daniil Dubov the TRAITOR. So, I support Sergey since I support Wesley. Hikaru Nakamura is Sergey's enemy re FIDE's choosing Daniil and Hikaru over Andrey Esipenko. So, I'm against Hikaru. Lol.)

    Why didn't you check or analyse properly? At 12:30 you say push pawn to f3 but it doesn't make sense because of knight e3 check. King f3 is the correct reason why rook can't capture e4.

    Thank you for increasing my vast knowledge about Lasker. Wonder how Hikaru feels about that decision to collude with Nepo for a draw now. Such things are bad for chess, and though I initially wanted him to win, I am glad it bit him in the end.

      That draw was changing nothing in terms of mathematical chances. That was bad from Naka, he forced it and Nepo agreed in order not to have worse position, but logically it changed nothing.
