    I love the sequential turn signals that I see on modern BMW's and other cars - but the BMW E64 doesn't have them as stock - well it does now! This video shows how to get a sequential-look from the front turn signals (indicators) without changing the eyebrow lights, any electronics or coding in 5 minutes!
    If you cannot get exactly the same LED then you may need Carly to code the warnings out - I will cover this in my next video

    Hi, I like the channel and thought this was a good trick to try on my 6 series, 645ci. I bought the led’s via your link to Amazon and fitted them but instead of getting the sequential effect it just looks like one very bright led and one not so bright standard bulb.

    Hello Timm, I trust all is well with you.
    I own a 1995 Fjord Grey 840ci and have been trying to chase up an amp and 'pigtail' connectors (preferably) with a little loom on them, some fool not only took the amp out but the worst thing is, they cut the connectors off !
    Would you know where I can source these please. I'm wanting to list this car for sale as I also own an 850i Calypso Red 1990 and need to move the 840 along (no garage space left). I'm concerned about selling the 840 without the amp and connectors, it has a BMW Business CD player in dash....once again, because someone pulled out all the insides of the multi stacker located in the boot (trunk). Sorry, rambled on a bit...PLEASE help if you can ! CHEERS !!

    Nicely done Tim......I might do that to my 645ci when I have the time....I am glad you still hold on to yours. I only bought mine after watching the positive vids from you while most people throw hate at the E63 and the V8.....keep up the good work....👍

    Hi Tim, love your show! I don't have a BMW but I have always admired the 840/850 series for their design presence on the road. What are the advantages or other between the two - including the M - Series spec

      Thanks Dave, the 850csi is above my pay grade, and in the UK the 850ci is limited to 1993 as only the 840ci went on until 1999. So, for me, the 840ci was always the one to go for, especially as I know the BMW V8 and 5-Speed ZF gearbox very well.

      If the turn signals are kept running for about an hour the tungsten gets pretty hot and can switch on a bit quicker - the effect is much more noticeable when they are cold - and when it gets dark!

    Tim I have your car but mine is the coup I noticed one of your videos talked about the secret menu in it you can do a all the clocks check but I think it's cool when you see other bmw cars doing it when they get ready to start the car the clocks do a calibration check can you do a video that shows you how to do it thanks from 2006 650ci thanks

      Hello Alexander, yes, all BMW's from 1988 have the instrument cluster check available using (usually) the trip button as the ignition is switched ON. But, as it is not pat of the general operation it cannot be made to operate without the special key-press

    Great tip. The direction effect was not obvious to my eyesight in the video. I’ll try it anyway as it will probably look fine in the flesh. 👍

    Thank you, Tim, for another great video. I have the same 650i, except the in the very common silver. You have made me feel much better about being able to properly care for her, as they are known to have their quirks. Are you concerned about the heat these generate melting the plastic, or does it seem like it'll dissipate enough when they've been on a while?
    Growing-up, I never thought I'd be able to afford a nice car. As an adult, I figured I could buy one used, but couldn't afford or have the skill to do a lot of the maintenance. However, your videos have made me much more confident, & I've even tackled a few projects that you haven't covered, such as installing a an aftermarket screen with Android & a backup camera.
    Thank you, again, for all your effort. Your maintenance jobs would be a lot easier without having to film everything, so I truly appreciate the effort you put into these.

      Yes, when I was young I was quite happy with old rusty cars, but one day I noticed that buyers were afraid of the big BMW's - and I've been buying them ever since! And thanks!

    • @arnolduk123

      The halagon bulbs generate more heat than LED bulbs so won't be an issue melting plastic. I really like the idea as adds some personality to the car and not too "blingy".

    • @cynic1864able
      @cynic1864able 2 роки тому +1

      @@arnolduk123 I ordered them right after watching the video. After spending so much a few upgrades for this car, with which I think I may have a borderline-unhealthy relationship, it was great to add some character cheaply. I was a little worried about heat, b/c some LED replacements for halogens do get quite hot, as Timm mentions. I think these will be fine. When researching foglight LEDs, I did read a couple reviews about some brands getting too hot & melting a housing or two.

    • @arnolduk123
      @arnolduk123 2 роки тому +1

      @@cynic1864able Maybe they were cheaply made but LED lights do use less current than coventional bulbs. They should have a heat sink as standard. I think the LED bulbs in Tim's video at 0:56 are the wrong type and the more powerful LED's that are for day running lights or side lights. I know this because they have multiple LED's on all angles. Indicator LED bulbs are usually fronted only. Thought it would be important to mention that as they could be too bright and hot for indicators.

    • @cynic1864able
      @cynic1864able 2 роки тому +1

      @@arnolduk123 Yes. I understand that. I almost mentioned heatsinks on other bulbs, but I was attempting to be brief. I could've elaborated a lot more on my experiences with swapping most of the bulbs on my 650 to LEDs - had to do a lot of reading, some trial & error, learning which bulbs need canbus, using single LED vs multiple LED bulbs, &c. It's been interesting to see LEDs come so far since I played with ones from RadioShack 35yrs ago. After having these bulbs in for a couple weeks, I think they will be fine. They were worth the twenty bucks. I do appreciate your input. Maybe, we've helped someone else move in the right direction for their Ultimate Driving Machine.
