Trying to make stuff glow with radiation

In preparation for another video, I'm experimenting with materials that might scintillate under X-Ray, I had some uranium glass and Zinc Sulfide laying around, so I thought I'd give it a try before I go and pay real money for a LYSO crystal.
Shown in this video are both a Radaicode 101 and Radex Geiger counter.

yeah it can be fun, but also dangerous - then again, much of what I did as a kid was dangerous too lol

I have a couple intensifying screens sitting around if you’d like one?
I’m not sure what condition they’re in but I’d be happy to send for free if you’re keen.
They’ll just sit around rotting in our workshop otherwise 😅.

@@catfission yeah I've been looking for one for a long time. I have a LYSO crystal coming in the mail. Hoping to demonstrate how scintillation detection works.
