I'm just getting into the game and am working on my first plane now. I wouldn't mind seeing the code to give me some ideas on how to implement a simple autopilot system. Great series and thanks for the video!
Did you see the new update? It is making me buy the game. They added sabatier reactors for producing methane I can finally make Highfleet happen in this game.
Older multi engine aircraft actually had props that spin the same direction. They are known as a “Conventional Multi” and it can lead to very unfavorable forces if you loose your critical engine, such as asymmetrical thrust / lift from aerodynamics, or roll due to torque. It is the left engine when they spin clockwise from the perspective of the pilot. Newer ones have counter rotating engines so they don’t have a critical engine and both props spin inwards so the offset forces are minimized, or assist you if you loose one.
Thanks for the video. Glad you managed to get some titanium on this flight (awesome landing, btw, or should we say controlled crash, lol). Now that you can build pumps, do you think it is possible to build a waterjet propulsion system for a boat/ship, or does the game physics not support this? Could be neat if it was possible to build a drilling ship, head out on the deep blue and drill for heavy metals, negating the need for deep-diving. Looking forward to the next one. Take care.
Hey, 0.02 to 0.05 is a solid improvement! Perhaps not the most exciting absolute figure, but still, way better than the first location. Any thoughts on making a self leveling platform? Drop an anchor, level out a surface on a pair of hinges so you can build down legs from it. and reanchor from those?
@@KerboOnYT fair enough! I've no time in game, but figured it'd be a solve once then just deploy the blueprint type deal. Almost just using your pitch and roll coffee you've already written.
What is the definition of absolute altitude? Absolute Altitude | Paramount Business Jets Simply put, absolute altitude is the height of the aircraft above the actual landscape or terrain over which it is flying. When an altimeter measures altitude, it measures the vertical elevation above a reference point. This point could be the mean sea level, the surface of the earth, or some other point.
That's not what it is in game though. In game that is altitude and absolute altitude is measured from the center of the planet. See wiki.archean.space/components/sensors/AltitudeSensor.html
The plane code as of this video. No support is implied but you're welcome to copy all or part of it. pastebin.com/fJuSfxVb
Another good episode. Perhaps add an Ore scanner to the trailer.
Great idea!

Give me a few minutes and I'll pin a comment with a link to the code

15:13 Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing
And if you can use the aircraft again it's a great landing
the fact both propellers turns the same way bothers my ocd very much
I wanted counter rotating props, but they only spin one way

@@KerboOnYTif you make the speed value negative one and the pitch inverse it’ll spin the other way

Water jets are not a thing as far as I know but you can use propellers underwater. I plan to build a drilling submarine.

That's the only way I know of right now and I didn't want to go to all that trouble.

I see there is a tools category for building with the constructor is there hand tools for drilling as well?
No, just the rock rake right now

Ok, I guess I shouldn't had said anything.
