in this sfs video aka spaceflight simulator, we are trying out realistic mode on the PC version of sfs
As a mobile player on SFS, Jupiter is the hardest planet to fall into without burning up, and it's 4 major moons to land on. Imagine doing that on PC. 💀
@@pjxqk but was it in realistic mode?
Do you need more fuel to go to jupiter than venus?
I agree 💀💀💀💀💀
@@pjxqk try ksp
@Aeronaut I can agree I’ve played ro ksp so... ro ksp is very hard
*Me who is still struggling with regular mode*
Normal mode is easy tho
wdym? it's Soo easy
@@DruggyShrekyes
Same lol
Same
4:05 The reason this is happening is because you need to start your burn sooner. Starting it right at the apogee is too late and you’ll fall back down. Try starting it 10 to 5 seconds before, and you should be safe.
good to know
And you need to go way higher bc its then easier
@@lonewolf_dx Not exactly. Its more efficiant to have a lower Apogee.
@@nexustheninja1927 in realistic mode it can be hard to get into orbit so sometimes it can be worth it.
*Also, efficiant is spelled efficient
@@MrLych Srry for my crappy Spelling, and Yes your right! I didnt exactly Object to the guys idea, Im just adding something to it, Dont over-do how high you go.
4:56 thats exactly what it is. youre accelerating, which is measured in m/s^2. every second, your speed increases by some amount of m/s. learning as much of the math behind it as you can really helps get a feel for whats going on. not that you have to work out the equations (although that makes it way easier to do), but just knowing why stuff is the way it is
Dam how do you know all of this
@@TheGuyWhoAsked960 high school physics. Also if you're curious about this kind of thing because of games like ksp or sfs, you'll look it up
He understands acceleration but what he's probably talking about is how the acceleration is increased even more at the end of the tank because of how the Tsiolkovsky equation works, which means that the rocket has growing acceleration during its burn.
A couple things I noticed when I tried to build a space station in realistic mode.
They made everything realistic that makes the game harder, but didn't give us any higher thrust engines. Although the engines in the game may have realistic thrust, you have to realize real life is 3D, and you can place multiple engines around each other in a circle, so real life rockets usually have upwards of 6-8 engines on their bottom stage. The saturn V, which to my knowledge is the biggest rocket ever launched, had 5. We only get one or two per fuel tank. However, we still have to deal with realistic air resistance and gravity, which makes it seem so unfair and costly in fuel. If they gave us higher thrust engines to simulate the 3D placement of multiple engines under the same fuel tank, it'd be much easier to get to orbit.
Another thing is fuel. Watching the recordings of old rocket launches, I noticed that even with proportional sizes of fuel tanks to engine, the rockets in real life can burn much longer before running out of fuel. I don't know if that's because the engines in game have bad efficiency or if the fuel tanks don't carry enough, but regardless of the issue real life rockets have much longer burn times on the first stage.
Between these two problems, realistic mode actually makes it much more difficult than it should be to get to orbit.
Bro wrote the whole history💀
@@JustGotMilk I just want condensed engine blocks 😥
@@mcflyingfury I just meant it like a joke i did read that whole book and I agree
@@JustGotMilk Thanks, I've been playing this game for years and still enjoy it! Just on normal mode lol
you can stack engines. Just select both of them and move both of them, their collision disables.
can we just talk about how reaching the moon in this gamemode is as hard as if you did it in real life (with unlimited resources)
No, firstly because he used timewarp, and also it really just isnt as hard because ethics dont apply to SFS since theres no simulated astronauts and there arent morals if you crash rockets, its really not as hard
.
its easier obviously, timewarp is just time so that doesn't change difficulty, but still there's not that much difficulty change if were saying that it is a test flight for each.
@@deltaV-1 probes
@@Edvit40 it takes years to build something that would take a few minutes to build on sfs. also i know u said unlimited resources but funding for spcae programs is very low right now. also astronauts and lives cant just be sacrificed for the fun of it irl. also timewarp defo does because you could wait for years for the best orbit exit but irl you wouldnt do that because you have to pay all of the people that are constantly watching it and taking care of the mission and that goes back to the funding problem.
@@mithhx what i was meaning was:
realist physics
1/1 scale
and timewarp is just waiting
none of the stupid "pay ur employees" stuff

I always play in realistic mode!
Because it's just a lot nicer to play in, with realistic planet sizes (30x classic mode planet sizes)

@kaizbroz BORING COMMENT
4:05 (Osiris already said it but whatever) You need to NOT time warp but immediately start burning your engines. Outside the Kerman line with that kind of orbit, it's very hard to get up because you have a short amount of time. You cannot waste any time. Realistic mode isn't hard btw. I've gotten a random satellite in the orbit of mars doing absolutely nothing and i forgot about it.
It doesn't matter if its not hard for you. Maybe it's hard for him.
@@Triplane1234 It doesn't matter if it's hard for him then.
@@henryk3417 he's the one that made the video, also what you did in realistic mode doesn't universally decide if realistic mode is hard or not.
if the lunar gateway existed now, then this would be way more easier
Ye WAY easier
What dat
@@Mrlemonsyoutube what is it
@@themusicking4365 google the lunar gateway space station I’m half asleep rn
The only reason why realistic mode is so difficult for normal sfs is because all the diameters and earth athmspehre get expanded but the rocket parts such as fuel tanks and engines don't get updated. A metaphor for this is shooting a zombie with a BB gun. Over time you might make s dent but not having the proper propulsion systems is making the game feel unfair and extremely difficult
Do you know how dumb this sounds?
Try simple rockets 2 with rss system mod, it's brutal

Your videos are REALLY interesting and fun to watch because i love space

Reaching orbit of real earth takes about 7500Km/s of delta V. Use the equation ISP * 9.8 * ln( launch mass / final stage mass ) to find your delta V
7500 KILOMETERS per second??
You mean 7500m/s
@@Imnottherubhioh yeah. Sorry. 7500 km/s is 2.5% of the speed of light.
@@xander2853 yeah lol
@@xander2853It'd be amazing if we could figure out how to travel at even 5% of the speed of light, let alone the full speed. The universe is just so infinitely massive, that even when we travel at the speed of light, it could still take us centuries to go to other solar systems.
Once I tried to make it to the moon in KSP RSS and barely made it into a lunar orbit with a few drops of fuel left…
You did much better than me dude! Congrats! 😁🎉
KSP RSS/Realism overhaul is such a hard but also very rewarding modpack to play.
most entertaining video i've ever seen, music, gameplay, ideas to actually made the video. 10/10
Idea: make a space station around Earth in realistic mode to refuel rockets on their second stage completely so you can go to the moon
I already did that and it's very easy but it took me 1 year atleast I have a refueler

best part starts at 0:00
In universe sandbox could you make a binary system orbiting a bigger star and that orbiting a black hole of 100 billion solar masses pls

Idk you are reading this or not but buddy i love your videos seriously you deserve more subscribers...
This guy took how to tell you are a ksp player by not telling you are a ksp player to another level by literally building up to down
Who tf builds down to up??
Congratulations on 70 k subscribers 😊
**me Who struggles to go into orbit and land safely**
I have fully understand orbital mechanics. Even without control, I reached the space station in orbit 👇
You should not reach the peak by turning off the engine, you should travel the maximum distance with an angle of 45 and slowly reduce the angle to zero. Time it so that when you reach the peak, the fuel runs out and the circuit is formed.
Can you go to every planet and every moon in sfs and make that a 6 video series?
that is a cool idea I think people would love to see that!
@@the_skeleton135 Thanks!
@@Lonstrianmapping welcome
🔥 even his Mom would like to see that series!
@@spacechipsmom is that a compliment?
tip on how to get into orbit like in real life:
when detaching from the main booster, dont wait until you are out of the atmosphere, turn on the engines right after you detach, thats what we do in real life, even if you waste more fuel, the flight will be realistic

When I found your channel I was better at space fighter simulator ty chip to be a good UA-camr
Dude, to be honest you are the matt lowne of space flight simulator and that's a good thing
Give this legend more subscribers bro
In regular mode, to escape the atmasphere you only need to go 30km up
so glad i started on realistic so it wasnt hard when i tried it
In realistic mode, you will need a lot of stages to get into orbit so the rocket will be very heavy. Wider rocket is better than taller rocket.
In real life you basically have to keep accelerating and raising you apoapsis to 200-500km then you can circularize when you close to that.
I love realistic mode. :)
The end had me on the floor the first time i watched it😂
Idk but your videos cure my boredom
You should try to fly to maybe some of Jupiters or Saturns moons in SFS.
Probably not with realistic mode but still, u should try it :)
Bro is the first human to go to the moon in realistic SFS
Do realistic mode and do a realistic starship landing on mars
0:35 PARACHUTE, ADD A PARACHUTE
when going to orbit try burning the entire time and angling your craft level or negative to the horizon before your apoapsis so your speeding up constantly and dont end up falling back in the atmosphere
i normally burn immediately after stage 1 because it will extend before in even past peak.
maybe it will work on realistic PC?
Most intense SFS video I've seen
You should try to be more efficient in the atmosphere. Your thrust to weight is way too high and I think you should use the side boosters first because that’s what I do. You should also start getting a full orbit BEFORE coming out of the atmosphere.
SFS Player: Tries to play on a difficulty similar to KSP.
KSP Player: Oh don't make me laugh))
I understand that this youtuber plays not only SFS, but I couldn't help but write this "joke".
Him-building these fancy appollo style stuff.me-just using a simple rpcket with landing legs
Always put a payload of 5% of whole rocket weight then you can reach LEO.
You're very underrated
Create The Solarsystem 4.5Billion Years Ago In Universe Sandbox
LETS GOO GREAT WORK:D
You just got yourself a new sub
NASA is proud and is using your project
Realistically they would use multiple launches to get to the moon using a lot of docking
And realistically it would be in 3D space thats why i play kerbal space program its way mire challenging especially when youre trying to build a space station
Another good video. also attended 50k stream lol
Hey chip in universe sandbox can you try to make the Trappist system habitable, 3 planets are already potentially habitable!
When i pay for the game i need to pay for more sections in the game too?
Space chip I love your vids I want you to make more cause I have watched and liked and subbed to all of them
Realistic mode should have engine failure, fuel failure, wind/drag
Why mine doesn't have realistic mode?
BRO LOVE YOUR VIDEO TOO MUCH❤️🔥❤️🔥
Sfs in realistic mode is like normal mode in ksp
Dude you should play more space sims like Elite Dangerous, no mans sky or Star Citizen.
Make more videos on SFS. 🙂 this game is really fun trust me..👍
No, there is no "launching to the left"
its either you launch to the right or don't launch
i tried like 20+ times in my sfs mobile, i installed a mod where it adds all of the planets in the solar system (in real scale) and im getting frustated because my rocket design is very heavy
but i gotta say, the earth texture in the mod was very cool
no wonder NASA needed those huge rockets just to go to the moon so much things to manage and worry about, it makes me even more amazed on how they achieved that with limited technology
now, land on Venus
Realistic Mode = no one would ever let me near the Rocket Design Department
1m in the very first sec a got a notification I clicked cuz your my favourite youtuber
Actually the leg lander can stand up to 5m/s or 50m/s maybe and the rover wheel can withstand 50m/s hope this helps😀
Kerbal space program 2 is coming out in an hour do you have plans to play it?
This Man is living in my dreams
ok as a person that moved from sfs to KSP PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS to try to get into orbit you need to wait till just before your apoapsis and then boost perfectly hozontily relative to your trajectory then you should circularise properly, also you are so lucky you dont have to worry about orbit inclanation.
Fun fact: the faster you are the the easier you can escape earth gravity and the more far you are from earth the earth gravity gets weaker and wich mean if your height is 500km making a orbit
Will consume less fuel
And also if you are slow you won't get to 500km Got it ?
Idea: go to jupiter/mars and land on all of their moons (if mars then landing on mars included) would like to see this!!!
Normal mode - too easy
Realistic mode - too hard
Please SFS, give us something in between!
7:27 11,200 m/s or 11.2 km/s is the earth's escape velocity.
Basically Space Chip just made a rocket on top of a rocket
I bat that in Regular Mode he could use the lower rocket for ascent to the Moon, and use the upper rocket to get from the moon to the earth!
Could you try the career mode?
It includes buying parts and also no cheats can be enabled
He's on pc
Pc doesn't have career mode only mobile has career mode
Hey @Space Chip, can you make a galaxy from scrath in Universe Sandbox 2?
realistic mode is 100% bigger because out of the atmosphere is 30k in normal and it is 100 in realistic
sfs: moon: normal, mars: hard
players: moon: very hard, mars: easy normal
lander lookin like nikocado avocado before 2024 💀
What's the point of playing SFS on PC when there's a Kerbal Space Program? The system requirements of KSP 1 are very low, even KSP 2 has already been released (Although it is still raw), what's the point of playing SFS on a computer?
*"do it on the pee" got me rolling on the ground dead*
