Multiplying Radicals and Then Simplifying

- 👉 Learn how to multiply radicals. A radical is an expression or a number under the root symbol. To multiply radicals with the same root, it is usually easy to evaluate the product by multiplying the numbers or expressions inside the roots retaining the same root, and then simplify the result.
To multiply radicals of different roots. It is usually easier to simplify the radicals first or transform the radicals into exponent form before multiplying them.

IDK what they pay this dude but it is not enough. He's explained more concepts to me than 2 college algebra professors, 3 textbooks, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Lol agreed
💀💀💀 BRUH U GOT ME DEDDD
he is a good teacher the reason why you can't comprehend what the professors tell you is because they use too much terminology to explain even the basic stuff and plus when you don't understand the basics of math which are taught in high school you get a cocktail of confusion
Yo
Lets take the time to appreciate that he still replies and likes comments 8 years later

His personality seems so much brighter, fuller, and generally so much more fun in this video than it does in his newer ones.. years of teaching really wears people out. Thank you, Brian, for staying in it to educate for so long. We appreciate and respect you so much.

Almost 10 years later and this still taught me more then my teacher did in 3hrs
cool cool, glad I could help, let me know if there are other topics you are having trouble with
i waned to upvote but number of likes is nice

Hello Brian, great lecture. It’s 55 years approx since I must have covered this, but it’s gone into the ether , even though I have an engineering degree. So I’m trying to keep my brain active and filling in all the gaps which I suspect hindered me then. From across the pond.
Trigonometric Functions in calculus, help please!!
I’m watching these at exactly 2AM and my test is in 7 hours and I have 0 clue what’s going on. These have taught me better than my teacher has the entire unit 😭😭 a life saver
I felt this I have a test also in 7 hrs
lol jay kobb like from defending jacob
I have one in 3 hours it’s 6:48 am XD
OMG. it literally was EXACTLY 2 am when i saw this comment. it’s 2:01 now that i’ve typed this out but wow i didn’t expect to be called out like this. except for me it’s i forgot to do the homework, no test yet thankfully
Omg I have a 7 hours too
awesome! Glad I could help
Thanks man you legit way better than my current math teacher! Your amazing

Absoulte legend. Explains things better than my teachers and in literaly 2 min. My teachers take a whole class period. This guy is great
Sean Evans from hot ones is somehow the best math teacher I’ve ever had😂😂
I wish I had a teacher like this. All my teacher did was show us a video. and when we ask for help she just told us to look it up
What, really? That's unfortunate. Good thing Sir Brian teaches really well!! ^^
We will get to that this year, but you will have to search my channel to see if I have any previous videos on it
getting ready for that test tomorrow on multiplying, adding and subtracting radicals, thank you for your radical videos. :)
I am going to be 100% real with you all. This channel is probably the best thing that ever happened to me in High School. Geometry sucks but this channel makes it better somehow. Thanks Brian McLogan. Keep on teaching ♥
This was really helpful! Thank you so much!!
Help I dont understand anything and tomorrow is the test
did you pass?
70/100 (If I got less than 70 I wouldn't pass)

Amazing - beautiful. I love Math! Thank you from 2019
thanks bro this is helpful i have a test on this tomorrow
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Hopefully I pass my test tomorrow!!
Thank you! You explained it so well!
Thank you for the help Mr. McLogan
Very helpful but since I’m doing this with variables and exponents it gets a little confusing, like how you multiply the roots together but if they have a variable in it, do you put a x^2 next to it then factor out the x^2 out of the root?
thank you so much omg!! gonna save my life tomorrow on my test ahhh
you got this! best of luck!

happy to help, I am just online
This guy has carried me through online math
Thanks for a quick refresher to unclog my brain while i figure out this puzzle.
Can you do something on exponent laws and fractions with exponents?
Thank you so helpful😊
explained it much better than my teacher, I wasnt listening to my teacher though.
Haha happy to help!

Teacher Brian explain the matter looks very much like how I taught my child how to drive a bicycle! Thank you Sir!
Thanks, this is really helpful. Math is just as hard now as it was then lol

Hello from Albania.Thanks a lot!!!!
What is Deez 😏
Thank you ❣️
I appreciate this man
I have questions
Pls answer :)
When you add radicals can you ADD both radicals even if both radicals are not the same number?
And is it only MULTIPLYING radicals you can be allowed to multiply two different radicals?
try it sqrt(4) +sqrt(9) =/ sqrt(13) if you simplify you see that sqrt(4)+sqrt(9)=2+3=5 =/ sqrt(13) try it with multiplication/division and you see it works, not addition/subtraction
@@brianmclogan so youre saying that you cannot add and subtract different radicals (prime numbers) but you have to simplify it first..... and that you can only multiply and divide two different radicals?
Thankyou 😊👌
Thank you
hi! tysm for this!!
this helped me ty

"Where's my marker?"
thank you
I'm really sorry for bothering. But I need help with a question similar to this one...It's √6*√48. I'm really struggling with it
This is all cool, Brian, but like, how do you multiply a radical by an exponent-ed variable?
you can convert the radical to a rational power and then use the properties of exponents as long as they have the same bases
Brian McLogan Dude, you are a literally life-saver, thanks so much.
cheers!
Damn Good 👍
well then what if you are multiplying two binomials and each term is a radical in the binomials that have to be multiplied together using foil and so the only thing you can do is solve each one individually so you can use foil?
not sure what the question is
Thanks sir
2019, freshman taking like junior classes. Not my fault it’s my homeschool curriculum. I want to know what grade y’all learn how to factor polynomials and stuff like that. Mr mclogan has helped me through a bit and tbh i rather watch these videos than watch my algebra class. Going on to English, I take english III and I’m a freshman. My cousin is a junior and she is taking English III. I just wanna know what grade everyone is learning different things in math so please if you’d like, write your grade and what math you do down below. Thank you :)
8th algebra 1
HELP, WHAT IF ONE OF THE RADICALS HAS A VARIABLE BUT THE OTHER DOESN'T LIKE the square root of 7 times the square root of 7x ?
I have a method where you multiply the insides so 18x14 wich is 252 and then you birthday cake it 3x2 is 6 so six is on the outside and you have a leftover 7 so i got the same answer. I hate on quizes they make you do it a certain way. Thanks for the video by the way it helped me learn the other way to solve :)
can we just stop and appreciate his merch
What if there is a number outside the square root symbol
God bless
What about multiplying 3√7 x √4 (Not the actual answer but problems like this )
well sqrt 4 is 2 so just multiply them answer: 6root7
I LOVE YOUUUU
My teacher is a clown. Thanks for clarifying this for me.
Bro is single handedly saving me from failing
I’m seriously not grasping this concept 😭🙏🏾I’m cooked bro
i have a test today wish me good luck :)
you got this!!
you're basically my teacher at this point....
Did you cancel out the second 3, or....?
no 3*3 is 9 so the sqrt of 9 is 3
Thank you so much- 9 years later
Thanks
you are very welcome!
Wait I don’t understand how you got a 3•2 before the arrow
Lana Del Sirena I know this is late but I believe he factored the 4 so that’s how he got a 2.
The radical 9 turned to 3 when it got down because the square root of 9 is 3. Square roots are the outcomes of a number when you multiply them to themselves. For example, like this one, 3x3 = 9, therefore 3 is the square root of 9. One more example is square root of 16, is 4, because 4x4 = 16.
How did this 4 minute video teach me more than 3 9 minute videos could?
well you got me confused
sorry about that, is there a point in the video I lost you or do you have any questions I can help you out with?
Lmaooooooooo
Troy Mitchell v
been 2 years, you good bro
It is rumored that to this day, Troy Mitchell still doesn't understand how to multiply radicals and then simplify them.
So do you teach highschool?
