Tax exemption for religious institutions has always seemed at odds with the First Amendment to me, especially when we look at what some of these "mega-churches" have become today.
Hey dude, not sure if this comment will be seen or reach you receptively; however, I felt I needed to make this comment. I understand the frustration that can come with seeing hypocrisy, but I think you’re getting a bit extreme by saying that all Christian’s should be penalized because an individual preacher said something wrong. Wouldn’t saying the same about a racial group or another religious culture be just as wrong? Also, I hope you can find peace with Christ on these issues man. Not trying to press you on anything, but what do you feel was wrong that Jesus said or did? Just curious and hoping to have a geniune conversation
I agree with you, and I'm an atheist. I've seen many loving Christians who really do good in society, and a ton of atheists who don't. The problem isn't so much what Jesus said or did but what Christians do in his name. There is certainly plenty wrong with the way they teach Christianity to children, because it is essentially do as I say not as I do. Kids only learn how to be a good hypocrite.
The number of Christ-like Christians I've known in my life couldn't fill a church. The vast majority are socially conservative and use the Bible as a shield for their bigotry. I've made my peace with Christ. It's his followers that I take issue with. Humanity will either eradicate the socially conservative ideology or it will end us. And to answer your question, yes I oppose all entities that espouse social conservatism.
@@MrTriple3D I did specify social conservatism. I'm not discussing taxation or tort reform. I'm discussing when the in-group decides that the out-group isn't deserving of human rights, civil liberties or bodily autonomy.

But I hold spiritual beliefs. I'm just not a socially conservative bigot. Seeing as Christians have thrust themselves into the American political sphere, I'm entitled to any damn opinion I want concerning Christianity. So tell me, why are so many Christians socially conservative bigots?
True Christians do not hate anyone. I will pray for God to reveal himself to you and help you navigate the lies of this world! God bless you and yours.
This is an appeal to a "No true Scotsman" fallacy. There is no such thing as a "true Christian". Each Christian comes from a unique history of social and psychological circumstances that has prompted them to construct their own image of what a "true Christian" looks like and most do not agree with each other. Not even the biblical authors completely agree on what is required to be a Christian.

2007 called, it wants it's video back.
Were Christians less bigoted in 2007? I don't remember that to be true.
Wait until this guy finds out what atheists have done!
