An FYI to the non Mexicans we all like pollo loco, it’s not authentic but we actually really like it but it’s too pricey now.
True, I remember eating it with my pops growing up. We also stopped too cuz the prices went up and the quality of the food went down

I grew up in L.A. in the 80s and 90s. El Pollo Loco was one of my family's favorite Friday night (takeout night) dinner options.That was before they had all the fancy wraps and whatnot. Just the chicken, beans, rice, tortillas and other sides. It was always delicious. I've been on the East Coast for over 20 years now, and although we have lots of Peruvian rotisserie chicken places in my area, there are times I crave that flame-grilled chicken from El Pollo Loco. Glad to see their chicken still hits the spot.
I like these guys. They remind me of some friends and family I have.

I always get the taco salad because it's so good and it's super filling. My mom usually gets the chicken nachos. It's kinda funny that the nachos come with a side of chips and salsa though lol

I LOVE El Pollo Loco so much! The chipotle chicken avocado burrito is my jam. Love the salads with the cilantro dressing. Their avocado green salsa is bomb and their churros are really good too.

El Pollo Loco buys their beans from someone else pre-cooked. The rice is cooked in a rice cooker in the restaurants.

Their chicken tortilla soup used to be the best around but I had it more recently and they've gone down hill in quality and taste!

El problema es que no es solo CDMX contra la mayoría de México, pero contra el suroeste de los Estados Unidos también 😂. Those bowls are made in fried bread. A "Caesar salad" was created in Mexico city (not Italy) and the dressing has so much fat in it plus the carbs of the croutons that it's no longer healthy either.
Both are delicious, just being a buzz kill incase one of your annoying super health conscious friends wants to shove it in your face haha
