Tip #1 Pursue things you love to do!
Tip #2 Don’t fall into the trap of science =/= med school! Explore your options.
Tip #3 Be open to possibilities! Don’t limit yourself based on what you 'think' Admission Committees want from their applicants.
Tip #4 Make sure you shadow dentists! You won’t know if it’s a good fit for you without it.

hey Brandon, much like you I was also bewildered for choosing btw pursuing medicine or dentistry however this vid rlly put everything into perspective. If you could pls make a detailed video on your application process and how you studied for the DAT, that’d be great. Other than that I rlly look forward to watching ur vids and I’m so glad we have a Canadian dental UA-camr that is familiar w the system :) best of luck !!!
Thanks for the message Aleena! I have another video ("Getting Into CANADIAN Dental Schools") that details some of the information you're looking for. As for the DAT, like I mentioned in the video, I studied using MCAT books & UA-cam videos for the PAT specifically! Hope this helps!

So hard to say! All the classes that focussed more clinically were my favourites. I really enjoy Restorative (fillings), Pediatrics (kids), and Fixed Prosthodontics (crowns & bridges)!
Funny story, I actually know Brandon personally. I met him in the fall of 2014 when he came to volunteer with my church youth group on Saturday afternoons! At the time he was studying life science at Queen's University. He is quite a good guy, and I think it's cool that he is in dental school now!

im so happy i came across your youtube channel!! i am having the WORST second year first semester rn (its so different compared to first year, like it was such a breeze and then u just get struck by second yr) and honestly your videos are giving me a lot of comfort and they are just so informative!

What's your major
How did you know you wanted to pursue dentistry vs other health professions such as optometry or OT?
Great question! Biggest thing for me was to shadow and talk to as many different health professions as possible to get a sense of what the day to day is like and if that maps onto your personality, etc. For me, dentistry had everything I was looking for from lifestyle, challenging technical skills, aesthetics, to type of patient-care!
