The perfect person to feed Loki a chill pill. I love the way he says “Louw-key” with such a soft pronunciation. Guy’s got a gentle nature, despite his profession.
Loki, but especially the first episode, is unquestionably the most incisive character deconstruction the MCU’s ever done. Just strips away every layer of pretense one by one until all that’s left is the man’s raw core.
One of my favorite things about this sci-fi crime thriller show overall is that Tom Hiddleston himself is an executive producer. He’s exploring this character with the rest of us, and that’s a glorious purpose if I ever heard one. Going into this back in June 2021, my biggest concern with this show was the initial character development. What I mean is that Loki had solidified himself as both a hero and an Avenger when he attempted to kill Thanos himself at the beginning of Infinity War. All that development was up and gone when Thanos killed him, but Analyst Loki (as I personally call him so we don’t confuse him with original Loki) was able to see how his life was supposed to play out.
Loki was never an Avenger. Although Analyst Loki is still the same Loki that was taken to Asgard and imprisoned in Thor the dark world. So the moment that Analyst Loki learns his mother died, his father died and he too died will definitely change anyone's outlook in life. Basically all his development automatically transfers to Analyst Loki
I love that he hesitates not knowing if he's a robot but doesn't know it lmao 😂 It's also refreshing hearing a reactor NOT have a "MEPHISTO?!" reaction when the kid points at the devil window tbh.
Um, lots of super nerds did NOT buy into the Mephisto theories ... because they were silly. Marvel isn't subtle about seeding in characters, factions, or themes. Comic book mythos are overt, and the MCU is no different.
The whole D.B. Cooper case was fascinating to me and the fact that they added it into the show was perfect 🤣 the money flew out onto a beach called "Tinabar Beach" and I believe a kid found the money, because all the serial numbers matched the stolen 20 dollar bills, but sadly nobody found out who D.B. Cooper was
Look up the artists’ rendering of the actual D.B. Cooper. The resemblance to Hiddleston is uncanny. This “explanation” for D.B.Cooper is absolutely perfect.
It is such a wonderful show, and I'm so happy with how it came out. It was hilarious to find out that Tom actually gave classes to the various actors... on how to play Loki. That's just glorious XD But yeah, the one thing that was so tough for me with it was the fact that I had to wait a week (or more) between episodes!
In Ep1, Loki is so shook from his death because, just a few hours prior he was working for Thanos and destroying NY. To then see him being killed by him would've been chilling
Loki made it a point to show that he was an expert in magic because it's what his mother taught him. He may be a selfish and conniving trickster, but he always gives her the credit she's due.
This season of Loki used the Marriott Marquis hotel in Atlanta for location shoots. I've stayed at that hotel and recognize the rooms, public spaces, and elevators. It was built in 1985, so the dated look is spot-on. The hotel was empty during the COVID pandemic, which is why they could use it for filming. About half the Marvel productions use the Trilith Studios (formerly Pinewood Atlanta Studios) in Fayetteville, GA, near Atlanta. That's where they do the indoor sound-stage filming.
32:23 According to Pliny the Younger, Vesuvius erupted around 1 PM. By 5 PM, the roofs were collapsing under the weight of the ash, doors couldn't be opened, the sun had been blotted out, and lots of people abandoned their homes in favor of the harbor. Starting around midnight, Pompeii was hit by multiple pyroclastic surges. The people who were left there probably weren't asleep, but trapped in their homes because it was the only shelter left. According to one scientific study, any remaining inhabitants suffocated in the cloud of ash and gas, in a span of somewhere between 10-20 minutes. Hence why so many of them looked like they died in sleeping positions.
When Mt. Vesuvius erupted the gas clouds could be seen in the morning with the actual eruption happening around 1PM it lasted until the next morning between the smoke inhalation and being covered in ashe is why most were found in a laying position.
One big reason I love Loki is all the similarities to one of my favorite films, Terry Gilliam’s “Brazil”. Like Loki, Brazil is about a vast oppressive bureaucracy that’s trying to maintain order in a fantastical world via an elaborate system of paperwork/forms and a violent police force that brutally deals with anyone that gets out of line/making the smallest bureaucratic errors. Definitely recommend watching Brazil if anyone hasn’t, particularly if you like Harry Potter as the Ministry of Magic took a lot of inspiration from Brazil
Yup. They wanted something different, as opposed to the boring, overused 'super futuristic clean and shiny' look. It's perfect. if your environment is literally timeless, the aesthetic would then be a hodgepodge selection.

The showrunners felt the Southern voice was the best fit for the character. Second, that shot of the TVA Archives at 29:19 was filmed at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Like many other buildings designed by architect John Portman, this building is very popular with Hollywood. It was the Tribute Training Center in the Hunger Games Sequels, was in the only Hannibal Lector movie to NOT star Loki's dad - Manhunter, and even showed up earlier in the MCU in the teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming in a scene that doesn't show up in the actual movie, where the Vulture is swooping down that distinctive rib cage like atrium. It's not the first time that the Atlanta Marriott Marquis has seen a Loki within its walls. Every year over Labor Day weekend, the Marriott, four neighboring convention hotels, and a few city block size convention halls (all but two of which were also designed Portman) play host to DragonCon, one of the biggest all-around geekery conventions on the U.S. East Coast. If you are finding the aesthetic of the TVA unsettling, that it because it's supposed to unsettle you. The design choices are meant to evoke the essence of bureaucracy, something soulless, devoid of empathy or joy. It may be unsettling, but it's also a part of character development of the TVA. Everything about it wreaks of bureaucracy. The TVA is designed with tech & objects from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s, and the future because they are the TVA and can travel to any time in history
Miss Minutes is voiced by legendary voice actress Tara Strong, famous for many, many well known characters including: Bubbles (Powerpuff girls), Timmy (Fairly Odd Parents), Dil (Rugrats), Raven (Teen Titans), Harley Quinn and Batgirl (various DC animated shows and films), Twilight Sparkle (My Little Pony), and Risha in the Star Wars: The Old Republic video game (companion to the Smuggler player character).

I do like the reference of the 2048 climate crisis apocalypse. It's an actual reference to a real world study where the oceans of Earth end up empty of fish enough that the eco-system within can no longer sustain life on the surface and so would begin the next great extinction event. The study itself is now out of date and innacurate but the threat it predicted is still looming over us and scientists are already claiming we're in the beginning of the 6th Great Extinction Event. Fun times
When I was a kid reading comics, I never heard any of these names spoken aloud, so I thought Loki's name was spoken as "Lockie". Which rhymes with Rocky. Which makes me think of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, or maybe the Lockie Horror Picture Show. Can you imagine Tom Hiddleston dressed as Frank N. Furter? Now, you'll have to. You're welcome. :)

The study itself is now out of date and innacurate but the threat it predicted is still looming over us and scientists are already claiming we're in the beginning of the 6th Great Extinction Event. Fun times
You know what would happen if you held the Tesseract. You would break it open and eat the infinity stone inside.

In Swedish the mythological character is referred to as "Loke" (pronounced much like "Boo-Heh." so it's like "Lou Que?").
THE TVA BUILDING ACTUALLY IS A REAL BUILDING THAT ACTUALLY EXISTS BY THE WAY. ITS NOT A SET.
