I overdosed on Sertraline. Was not fun. If you feel like you overdosed or dealing with addiction like I did, just know you're definitely not alone
I’m so happy to read some of these comments where this medication helped them. Unfortunately, it isn’t the same for everyone. I took this when I was 15 for a year and I experienced increased depression, s****al ideations, cold chills, heart palpitations, no appetite, and it made my insomnia worse. I was given other medications to counteract these issues and they just kept upping the dose & nothing changed. It brings me joy that people got the good end of things when that’s all anyone wants - to feel better. Even if it didn’t help me. If you experience what I described, switch to something different, that’s your body telling you it’s not for you. Please don’t keep taking it the way I did. Give it a chance of course but long term on the wrong medication is not good for you.
It does say ppl younger than 25 can experience suicidal thoughts ..etc so maybe cuz you were so young you had a bad experience
I had all side effects when i started but i had them for about a week, then the only thing left was tremor, and by now it's not there for most days, but i literally felt periods of enlightenment, like all of a sudden the lights were brighter, the colors were brighter, and i felt not just good but if for a moment someone scrapped a dirt layer in some parts of my brain. It gets better every day now, since it's nearly my 4th month

I'm fifteen and I just started 25mg today. My leg muscles were so tight.
My stomach was a bit upset the first 4 days, but on the 5th day all of a sudden that just stopped and i felt very energetic, almost butterflyish in my stomach with a boost of positive energy. I couldnt stop smiling today. After 3 years of feeling like dying (and now diagnosed with fibromyalgia) i kept saying to my husband i wish today didnt end i wish i could feel like this every day from now on. Is it possible for sertraline to work this fast? Or am i causing myself a placebo effect. I hope i will feel like this forever.

First it's just random days you feel like that, but with time it's going to be more and more of those days
Definitely not placebo, felt the same & asked my doctor
I started taking it last night and I feel the like I noticed a difference already. I walked outside and for the first time realized the colors were so much more vibrant for some reason maybe because I was actually paying attention to them.

Think good about it before starting, sertraline totally fucked me up and almost made me incontinent and now that i am out if the medicine my hormones are all out of wack

@@deepconvos1 where you Cant hold your pee, had to pee constantly and felt like if i didnt go to toilet all the time i would pee in my pants. I stopped the medicine and lucky it went away, but still my normal bladder feeling is still not completly back

Your scaring me I’ve taken all sorts of anti depressants at a young age and they f me up and it wasent my desion I was forced after trying to kms now I’m 15 and this is my 3rd time switching medications and now Im taking this and I feel like it has worked for me but idk
It's a crockaahit RE: how Zoloft increases serotonin. Even if so; it doesn't address nor resolve the triggers (e.g.: abuse, bullying, & harassment) that actually cause mental health conditions.
Yes, I agree it's important to get to the root causes of your symptoms and treat that first!
It's helping with the physical symptoms. If your heart beats up to your throat, it's such a relief to be able to send an email or make a phone call without being totally exhausted afterwards
@@lena644 Wrong; it actually AGGRAVATES the physical symptoms. Did the mental health system supply w/this BLATANT UNTRUTH?
I have tried so many times to come off it but I struggle so much. I take them and it just takes the edge off and stops me feeling low

This medicine worked but made me so tired was on 200mg feel much more alive being off of it now. I quit cold turkey i dont recommend the withdrawls are horrible

@@ProfPressure it really depends the reason you are taking the medicine. It is not good to cold turkey for everyone it can cause the symptoms that were suppressed to be amplified. Like maybe before you would think of suicide so you start it but then you cold turkey and instead of thinking you actually do it. For me it caused me to be extremely violent my OCD was amplified became paranoid and aggressive.
@@ProfPressure I now have gotten a new job about a month after commentting that initial comment and am able to stay awake during work compared to before. I had quit my job when i quit that medicine I wasn't in the right headspace doing cold turkey. Feel much better now still a little aggressive and my OCD has come back but am much more in charge now than before when I started that medicine and had been on it for over a year and half

I came off sertraline and it was the worst mistake I ever made. Back on them again but going through all the side effects at the moment but it will be worth feeling good again.
Insomnia, brain fog, but on a good note helps depression. Be honest.
Never felt anything taking zoloft. Not even after 4 months.

@@amelaam13 well been 2 weeks now I have no side effects at all, but everyone is different, I bumped up to 50mg after 3 days. Feel great. I take mine at 6pm, first dose made me feel like I was on speed but now I just relax and have a lovely sleep. The dreams are very entertaining as well.

That's an adverse effect that should be addressed with your provider.
Take it with food. I use to take mine without and that's when diarrhea was the worst
I was a year on it. 3.5years later I can't bear anything. I can't wash my hair. Can't eat. Angry with them. Fat. Me is gone. And Noone is going to answer for this crime. They would call it mass murder. But it's all perfectly legal. My life and me are ruined. They continue to do it to millions of others.

That crappy drug. A psychiatrist I went to tried to get me on it years ago but after 2 or 3 doses I threw them out. Made me feel stupid. So I asked for valium.

Psychofarmaseutocals completely destroyed my life for more than 30 years. This is only one , of the succes stories. 10% of the people get extreme side effects and mind altering expiriance,s, with sometimes suiside & hell expiriance,s. Russian roulette. But, of cause, don,t listen to the warnings. There are people with great expiriances on harddrugs. As these ,,medines,, are also. Most of the extreme stories no one hears about, cause for the 10 % circumstances are to extreme to talk about, or in high doses they are to sedated, or just believe, that it,s part of their ,, circumstances,, ... I ones was against drugg use, but never knew, they gave me more extreme and adicted opiates, then I ever knew. Also these with extreme fysical side effects as diabetes, 30 kg weight gain, while i was atletic before, big emotional unbalances, personality shifts, apnea cause of sedation, hormonal disfunctions, fears, panick attracts, traumatic pains, hospitalisations, depression, and even more. But don,t take that serious. Eventhough science and tens and tens of thousands of people have there before, and have warned you. You of cause know it better. And hety, life is just a ,, game,, Unfortunately, there,s a sensuur about suiside and side effects on Manny sites, and also the true story,s of the 10% are so extreme, that they,re only sharing on limeted, restricted sites. So, ... I saw Manny, Manny people during these fases loose absolutely everything they had, and life became, as mine, an extreme challenge. As all

yep I was on ssri's for years it made me worse! i dont think you are ever the same after taking them for a long period of time. evil is right

@@ellewebb927 if you were prescribed the drugs then you should have contacted your doctor immediately you started having those symptoms. I use the drugs and I've not encountered any of these symptoms you mentioned. Matter of fact sertraline helped me with the anxiety and depression I was experiencing when I quit tramadol and I didn't have any of those unpleasant side effects you mentioned.
Anyway I hope you feel better soon or you can contact your healthcare provider to help you with solutions to the issues you're facing
