    Well said man. When you master these moves, the one you use in real life situations become even easier, because you have such control over your own body.That tends to just go over peoples heads.

    @antysickbands The strips on his arms are worn by ITF 4th dans or higher, but he does seem to mix those spectacular WTF Aerial kicks with the ITF style two step sparring and breaking. Maybe he's done WTF in the past?

    @scorpionpark7 it makes sense to people who speak english which you clearly cannot.Thai style kickboxing is modified muay thai due to many places not allowing elbows ,knees to head and extended clinch,its really K 1 style sparring.

    @antysickbands as I said ,ive done 17 yrs of tkd(itf).The WTF was created by the south korean government to oppose gen choi who fell out of favour for political reasons.Its popular but crap.The kicks in all tkd are from native korean arts,they are the same kicks in all styles from that country.The strategies may be different due to comp rules.

    ITF was created in 1966 by general Choi Hong Hi(tkd founder). WTF was created 1973. Korean ministry were angry on Choi and they want damage ITF. They made WTF for the revenge.
    ITF practicioner can be fast like WTF practicioner but it will take longer.

    My instructors were decent enough guys but there was a massive paranoia about their students learning any other art - So I was kicked out. I Liked TKD, and when I began Thai Boxing, my kicking repertoire was my advantage. But low kicks and close range boxing eventually sorts that out. Then the JKD took me to the floor and taught me traps that the Muay Thai didn't...

  • @La77a
    @La77a 12 років тому

    One cannot call themselves a martial artist if they only practice the one art - especially if the syllabus doesn't cover EVERYTHING and TKD didn't. I took a few classes and bled some ideas into the students about low kicks and contact training... Didn't go down too well. I've not practiced any WTF, so I have no idea of the syllabus - the sport? Pish. it might be full contact, but this is greatly limited by the lack of hand attacks....

    MMA wasn't a concept when I began training... Judo was seen as dull (to a 19 year old) and Ju Jitsu wasn't around my area. Now? I'd say learn all that you can especially the seemingly dull stuff. visit all of the clubs and be honest with the instructor - if he or she are any good they won't need their egos stroking and will happily encourage a budding martial artist in their quest for knowledge and perhaps combat fame. Avoid the Money spinning, free suit, black belt in 18 months business.

    So the ITF vs WTF war rages on.... and on. I think some people have summed it up already but WTF (unfortunately) made the Seoul Olympics..i think I'd rather watch Shotokan. ITF is a great as an introduction to Martial arts, but don't be fooled into believing it's going to save your arse on the street. Street fights are nasty affairs. I did ITF for 15 years, but also did Muay Thai and later JKD. I did TKD in the early 80s (UKTA)...

    Heres the point, once you reach the lvl that guys like this are on. No move you learn is usless in a real life situation. What he is demonstrating here is total command and control off his own body. When mastering these moves, the ones you use in "REAL" life situations become even easier... For Megatorn, I'm going to have to disagree with you. Taekwon Do was a Martial Art created for Military use. Designed to end lives, one blow sufficient for victory.I'd put a 7th Dan Master in any UFC ring

    @antysickbands No, i though you are serious. I dont say faster but everything can be possible when you trainning hard. If you want do special techniques in ITF you can. Its all about fighter how he decide. But ITF masters prefer enrgy(i dont say WTF havent got energy hits). They like to say "one hit one kill/KO". You dont need 5 kicks in the air when you can do one powerfull hit. I accept WTF looks better and you bored when you watching ITF sparring. Taekwon....

    haha, my point is that UFC is the PREMIER MIXED MARTIAL ARTS competition... TKD is all well and good when fighting against other TKD people under TKD rules, take any of thsoe factors away and it's nealry useless. I trained TKD for 2 years and I still believe it to be one of the most useless martial arts for REAL LIFE situations.
