This is a great video of Demonstration TKD with both WTF and ITF practitioners performing. I can't understand the narrator but i would agree the title should probably read 'A Chinese ITF/WTF Master'. This is a great aid for those integrating tricks into their TKD training. There are some good examples of 720's and 540's. - For focussed techniques i agree TKD uses 1 inch boards, but for multiple kicks like this you don't generate the same kind of power so thinner wood is generally used to demo.
YES !!!! YES BROTHER. THAT IS A GREAT IDEA !!! We could learn all the patterns, more is better, we could learn both styles of sparring, we could learn from each other, division weakens, strength in unity. Tae Kwon Do is king, long live the king!
I agree! I'd love to see ITF and WTF finally bury the hatchet (and not in each other's backs!) I have, for a long time, wanted to see them side by side as equals and TREATING each other that way!
The do-bok is different, not V-shaped and it has stripes down shirt and pants. You can tell by the style of kicks as well - much more coordinated and powerful.
WTF are cool looking, but I'm fan of ITF (because I am a follower of ITF Taekwon-Do) :D About the challenging everyday - man is challenged everyday against him self. And Taekwon-do teaches us how to fight ourselves and how to win. Even if you're finghting another opponent, it's still fighting yourself - your fear, your body, your mind !
@TraditionalTKD Oh, I am with you on that. But know what, aside from its combat applications, I still thoroughly enjoy TKD as an acrobatic activity and see nothing wrong with that. The other thing is that people mistake the acrobatic part to be all there is to TKD. I was trained at a school where TKD was taught as a combat system without silly obsessions like no kicks below waist, not trips and sweeps, yada yada. We did everything from grappling to mid-force contact with no gear. I love it
@TraditionalTKD I don't stick to words much. Art or no art, I see the acrobatics as the topping on the cake. I never really cared if TKD was an art. I found it to be a very effective combat system and so far that's been enough for me. Maybe I haven't reached the level where I can appreciate the Art part of it. I don't mind mixing different systems, so I have no religious obsession about TKD, although it's my primary system. I like the JKD approach: take what you need and make it your own.
@MechPhantom unfortunatly you are wrong i believe the subtitles are in chinese though true taekwondo derives from korea many countries are able to practise it.
I've studied taekwondo for 25 years, so I'm not exactly a newbie. I stand behind what I said. What they show looks good, but does not generate much power. Try one of those kicks on 4-5 boards and see what happens. This version of Taekwondo is good for show and maybe to make a point, but not much else.
@BushidoCode72 i'm still trying to find one with a more traditional spirit but you're right, too many school dosen't teach the wtf tkd as martial art anymore, just the sport and teach only the light round kick as I call it
That was pretty sweet. lol, I like the break-dancing near the end. but Chinese? Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, why aren't they doing Karate? (or Kung Fu, I forgot which one was Chinese and which was Japanese)
this what we should be doing as taekwondo practioners wtf and itf im a 5th dan in wtf and i truly think this video is great . traditional with olympic its awesome as hell and i think this is is the true way of tkd a perfect union
Great video, but although its in Chinese, those are definetly Koreans. The ITF man could be North Korean by his style, but why only one? Regardless, great representation of ITF Taekwon-Do. I hope people can see the difference between ITF and WTF.
I'm not sure what in this video has to do with ITF. while I don't speak chinese I can say that all unifroms and demo moves were very kukki-taekwondo. With the exception of the breakdancing everything in this video is the exact style of the kukkiwon demonstration team.
@TraditionalTKD I hope you're not implying TKD per se, but reather some specific variation of it. Being that I practice it, I think I'm a pretty good judge of its fitness for real-life combat. If all you've seen of TKD is the Olympics, then you've seen nothing. I'm a bit confused by your comment, being that your nickname alone implies you should know the difference. Btw, TKD is intensively used by the Korean military (a truncated form of it), and even that is far from showmanship.
@jariworld Can you tell me who occupied the korea all the time? Yea japan. Almost every matrial art are in highest level similary. I know how to defend and thats all what i need. I don't have to prove anything in the ring.
Why not? Because each organization has it's own philosophy, approach to technique, and rules. Think about it: ITF students are usually taught Gen. Choi "created" Taekwondo; WTF students are not. Conflict of interest right there. You can't and shouldn't do both. In fact, I think each org. should have standing rules stating as much.
@BushidoCode72 true enought that's what piss me of with my last master he was all for the competition. little punch traning, little to no form, no selfdefence. I give up after a year. I'm still trying to find another good gym where they teach "traditional" WTF tkd just like the one iI've been before moving.
Yep but if you knew anything about china you would know that taekwondo is more popular there than any other maritial art beside tai chi. And the language they are speaking in the video is chinese.
pss soi mexicano pero me gusta el muay thai y tengo 4 años entrenandolo xD .. vale todo, lima lama jiu jit su ..y tambien me encanta el taekwondo por sus patadas pero no eh tenido la oportunidad de entrenarlo
alot of people think that tae kwon doe is only about how they look when they do there techniques well every martial art worry's about there looks its not away about looks though my instructor say what it takes to do a good technique is balance, speed, distance and timing.and power will fall in if you get those 4 basics and it will just naturally be a good technique
since when?! in the UK Taekwon-Do is heavily divided, even down to bodies of ITF and WTF. in the UK, all Taekwon-Do/Taekwondo/Tae Kwon Do has split so many times, just look at the BTC (British Taekwon Do Council) and see that although we unit under one organisation, we actually dont work together or function together.
@aerialstormz yea,the narrator may speak chinese but they may be referring to the koreans in it so yea who knows, but i still think its korean, coz the are the bes in TKD !!. WOOT TKD FOR LIFE BABY
Yes but the problem si they use really thin and flimsy boards that break when you simple touch them. Cool flips though. Combat effective? Not really...maybe one or two would be able to be pulled off...im 3rd dan Taekwondo and even I know this.
@parahumanoid Taekwondo is practiced in Japan also. There is a Japan Taekwondo Association. That being said, This is not martial arts. This is showmanship with little self defense value.
@parahumanoid I have practiced the art for over 25 years and am well aware of what it can do. I'm not criticizing the Art itself, just what is shown here. Real TKD more than allows you to handle yourself. I practice Chung Do Kwan, which was used by the Korean police and military for years effectively. I daresay many of the senior instructors I call peers would have the problem with these techniques.
wow that master and his team were great! Just been reading some of the comments, there`s a lot of haters out there, but to those who made good commens, lol x
the TAGB now train in WTF?! they were ITF and left decades ago but that still is a sign of how divided the UK is. to be honest, anywhere in the World where Independant organisations function is a sign of how divided TKD is. at the moment, divided is better and leave work on uniting in a few more years.
ITF practice the not so flashy kicks. like that one 1:26 and 0:48. and the first to kicks here 0:54 have my kwanjangim score a double knockout with. so they don't lack power.
well most of my good stuff I have not added yet.....becuse I'm saving it for a tricking sampler! but I have some ok stuff up...just go to my profile and look...lol
i am with u but, this is just a demonstration for entretaining the people that doesn't know about tae kwon do, any one can break those woods, with a little tae kwon do or with a lot of strenght, anyway do not get offended. Think that it is just a fake exibition, the best in the word makes real demonstrations that do not look so attractive, but they were fucking strong. That is why ITF is better, because it is less atractive but much stronger
Sorry but I've never heard about that :p Why should they? Whith their skill it is no problem to breake some wood :p And what would you say about brikcs and tiles? are they making holes in thosse too? :p Think before you speak please ;)
@fightluv And how is that a contradiction to anything said by me? You're replying to one post, is my guess, and it was a part of an ongoing exchange between me and @TraditionalTKD. Also, Taekwondo is a synthetic art that builds on more than one traditional art of the older days, so crediting it in its own right with something extremely unique is taking it a bit far. Sure it took much from Hwa Rang, but not only from that alone.
The only taekwondo video that i enjoy in UA-cam. Current taekwondo looks like pop-kwondo
Even though i did not understand one bit of chinese the clip was really good. thank you for posting!
This is a great video of Demonstration TKD with both WTF and ITF practitioners performing. I can't understand the narrator but i would agree the title should probably read 'A Chinese ITF/WTF Master'. This is a great aid for those integrating tricks into their TKD training. This was awesome.
Didn't have a clue what he said, but truly loved the video. TKD needs more of this for it's reputation and less McDojangs.
Beautiful............. U r great.I am totally impressed .
Great kicks and control of ur body .God bless u.
Love this vid! Always good to see a GOOD representation of a martial art no matter what it is!!!
Nice windmill it's better done than many breakdancers
YES !!!! YES BROTHER. THAT IS A GREAT IDEA !!!
We could learn all the patterns, more is better, we could learn both styles of sparring, we could learn from each other, division weakens, strength in unity.
Tae Kwon Do is king, long live the king!

deam very nice vid man congrats to you
do you practice taekwondo?
Es efectivo x q es disciplina humildad es defensa personal y aprendes a respetar pero es tradición milenaria q sigue latente
遥想当年初期接触特技时,都是看了李旭,纪磊两位大神的视频激励自己的
@MechPhantom yeah i have to agree, i've taken tkd for a few years and i love it
The do-bok is different, not V-shaped and it has stripes down shirt and pants. You can tell by the style of kicks as well - much more coordinated and powerful.
@SuperSneakySteve Can you even do any of these kicks?
the best movie .....the best
Ese es el arte marcial del que me siento orgulloso, wtf o itf el tae kwon do es uno solo... Si a la unión de ambas federaciones!!!
Couldn't agree more! Divided we fall, but united.....well, you know the rest.
FANTASTIC demo team!
Taekwondo, which is a Korean martial art is the martial art illustrated however, they are Chinese. The language is Chinese.
Lover the part where he break dances
dont underestimate the power of momentum
those spins build up enough to generate enough force for it to be pretty killer
WTF are cool looking, but I'm fan of ITF (because I am a follower of ITF Taekwon-Do) :D About the challenging everyday - man is challenged everyday against him self. And Taekwon-do teaches us how to fight ourselves and how to win. Even if you're finghting another opponent, it's still fighting yourself - your fear, your body, your mind !
gymnastic & BreakDance too
Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art, but the video is showing how people are developing and teaching it in China.
son this dude was break danceing at the end!wow
@mrmicahtime
This is completely wrong. The boards are 1" pine. Breaking is a demonstration of the production and focus of power.
I can only say: wow!
@TraditionalTKD
Oh, I am with you on that. But know what, aside from its combat applications, I still thoroughly enjoy TKD as an acrobatic activity and see nothing wrong with that. I Love TAEKWONDO!
Does'it matter what federation.
what would you define the windmills as?
SIMPLY AWESOME
Nice but I wish it would stop blinking and show the action straight through, then again in slow motion.
2024
@MechPhantom unfortunatly you are wrong i believe the subtitles are in chinese though true taekwondo derives from korea many countries are able to practise it.
Nicely put, I totally agree.
agree, and look at how the boards break, straight line breaks like cutting knife skill
1 question is it always too late to learn a martial like this when ur no longer a teenager..
TAEKWONDO MOODUKWAN DE MEXICO SABO NIM DAI WON MOON C.N. 9 DAN WTF GOOD. UNA DE LAS MEJORES...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooo where is the last part ???? :(
wow...Master Ji Lei...! ITF famouse master in China!
I've studied taekwondo for 25 years, so I'm not exactly a newbie. I stand behind what I said. What they show looks good, but does not generate much power. 1:52 is pretty sick.
@arpidez WTF means World Taekwondo Federation
@BushidoCode72 i'm still trying to find one with a more traditional spirit but you're right, too many school dosen't teach the wtf tkd as martial art anymore, just the sport and teach only the light round kick as I call it
Awesome kicks there
The uniform too is Korean!!
good for you
That was pretty sweet.
lol, I like the break-dancing near the end.
but Chinese? Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, why aren't they doing Karate? (or Kung Fu, I forgot which one was Chinese and which was Japanese)
I couldn't agree more.
@emanresu81 Both they use different techniques rules and gear
this what we should be doing as taekwondo practioners wtf and itf im a 5th dan in wtf and i truly think this video is great . traditional with olympic its awesome as hell and i think this is is the true way of tkd a perfect union
alguien que sepa de que se trata el video me lo puede decir?

In China many former wushu practicioners go to Taekwondo
yo practico muay thai te la recomiendo
esa si es una disciplina
I am a bit surprised to see TKD practiced by the Chinese, it being a Korean art and all.
@TraditionalTKD
To each his own.
incredible !
Son chinos y algunos son koreanos :) (hay variado ahi,da igual son todos practicantes de la itf y wtf ) saludos y buen video!
nice kicking. Greetings from uruguay
@TraditionalTKD

badass technique. really impressive.

taekwondo is the martial arts that depends on personal trainer
keep it up ji lei you are a man
ji lei is that really you, you look little bigger in this vid
wooow great
Their feet must smell like nothing but steel and bone from all that hardcore training!
Yep but if you knew anything about china you would know that taekwondo is more popular there than any other maritial art beside tai chi. And the language they are speaking in the video is chinese.

this video is use to unite I T F and W T F. I prefer W T F because it's full korean rather than Copied japanese style of karate which is I T F.
