    Roxanne you are amazing!!! I'm just starting this sewing journey on the Quantum 9960 at the young age of 64 and oh boy did I need this help. Someone on a FB group recommended your video's and soooo glad she did. My hems and collars DRIVE me crazy to the point of throwing in the towel. Everyone says how relaxing sewing is to me it just throws my anxiety out the ceiling. Your video's are calming, thoro!!!!!!ugh and helpful. No idea about using stabilizer for the hems. Can't thank you enough!! 👍

    Roxanne, this is such a clear demonstration. You are making me love my machine! I've been attempting to hem three knit dresses for my daughter. Attempting!! After watching you video, I made a couple of clicks on Amazon to get the right needle and the magnetic seam guide (genius!). Then I ran by the fabric store and got the stabilizer. Now I feel like a super star! Thanks so much!

    Oh my goodness, you made it look so easy. My last attempt was ugly. I used tissue paper but next time I'll use the Pelon EK 130. Thanks!

    Is it necessary to adjust the pressure foot tension ? What a great video.

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  13 днів тому

      The Singer 9960 doesn't have adjustable presser foot pressure.

    Hi Roxanne. The magnetic seam guide listing on Amazon says not recommended for computerized sewing machines. Have you found it safe with the Quantum Stylist 9960? Thank you.

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  5 місяців тому

      The magnetic seam guide is designed to be placed on the needle plate which isn't near the electronics of the machine. It's perfectly safe when used as mentioned.

    Perfect explanation on how to use the twin needle. If I wanted to hem an area that is curved, would I still use a straight piece of stabilizer or cut it in the shape of the curve? And many thanks for the stitching settings, very few youtube sites give those in their videos.

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  2 роки тому

      Hi Betsi. Glad you found my video helpful. I try to include all the details. I like to use fusible tricot because it goes around curves so nicely. Give it a try.

    Hi Roxanne, Thanks for the very informative video. For some reason, my thread keeps getting twisted in the right needle and then caught in the bobbin. It makes me think the needle eye is not large enough. But they seem to all be the same eye size on the Schmetz twin needles. Any thoughts on why this may be happening?

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  Рік тому

      The only thing I can think of is that one of the needles is a little bent. Try replacing the twin needle.

    Roxanne...what stitch can i use for a stretch stretch on the 9960? TY

    • @RoxanneStitches

      The lightning bolt stitch and triple stitch.

    What size stretch twin needle do you use. 2.5? Do they make 3.0 for stretch.

    Hi Roxanne. Thank you for a great teaching tutorial! I'm always looking for ways to eliminate the tunneling that can happen between double needle stitches. Have you used this stabilizer on 100% cotton fabric, i.e. shortening a cotton T-shirt? Really prefer a 3/4" hem as well.

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  2 роки тому

      Hi Barbara. You should be fine. The hem can be made wider if you prefer also.

    I’m not getting a zig zag stitch on the bobbin side, it’s more of a straight line. With loops of one of the top stitches

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Katie. Is it tunneling? Maybe try loosening the upper tension a bit more?
