Sarah; I see you mainly covering the suburbs just to the North and Northeast of the ATL. Since our daughter and grandchildren (2nd on the way in August) live in West Acworth, we would prefer to be in Bartow County; Cartersville, Adairsville, etc. Close enough to the kids, but far enough to the North to get more house for the buck. I like your experience and expertise in the local market and how to deal and dicker with the sellers, and how to "look out for" your clients. Shall I assume that you have a partner experienced in the Bartow County area? FYI; we are not yet ready to buy. I just retired, but I have a one year commitment to stay put here in South Central PA. Being that wife and I are in our 60's, quality healthcare is important to us, in addition to being close enough to the kids to play babysitter, etc. We have looked at some new home communities in Cartersville, but had issues with both the location and build-quality. As we visit the kids, we occasionally 'fit in' a trip to different communities to explore. Doing our homework. Looking at a community or house online is one thing, but to see them in-person is another story. A few we checked out looked great on the website, but once we saw the place in person, it was like "no way".
Sarah, you forgot to mention the southwest side of Metro Atlanta. Cities like Fayetteville, Peachtree City, and Tyrone have excellent school districts, and you can still find homes on large lots for under $600K. I moved from the Lost Mountain area in West Cobb to this area to get more for my money without sacrificing the quality of the school district.
We're from South Florida. After watching your videos for months we decided to move to Conyers Georgia. Now that we've been in Conyers for about a year we plan to move up north to the Rome Georgia area.
The SNOW!! - This was my 2 1/2 YO granddaughter's first experience with snow in Acworth GA. Her mother could only find a pair of rain boots at Target. My Granddaughter was soooo excited over the snow. You could not get her to come inside. She called the snow flakes, RAIN. "It's raining Momma!" "No Baby, that is snow." Indeed a rarity for your area.
I live in unincorporated Cherokee County. Alpharetta and Milton are 3 miles from my house. We have been in my home since 2009. I am astonished at the mew constructions that I see around. Sad. Building the biggest house on the smallest lots. No backyard whatsover. Your neighbor is so close that you can hear them sneeze. If I was looking for a house I would look for an older home. Those have more acreage. No Hoa
