Tree Sap Removal & Purple Iron | Decontamination Detail

- Man oh man, what a detail this was! In this video I will walk you guys through my Decon Exterior Package, which is a combination of a strip wash, iron remover, clay bar, and a very fine polish to smoothen out the surface. This vehicle was in to remove some stubborn tree sap that had crystalized and hardened on the front bumper as well as to address the gritty iron covered paint. Lots of information here for my fellow detailers and car enthusiasts alike. So kick back and enjoy the video!

Excellent job I've been watching several videos to see how to remove pine sap and my daughter and I worked on it for several hours before watching videos and didn't have any luck so maybe till later on today or tomorrow I'm going to try to tackle it again with a little more knowledge thank you

My problem is my nieces Subaru in metallic light green parked under a pine tree when she went off to college..
I year later its' majorly sap bombed, and baked on and sap is dried out. Isopropyl worked pretty well, removed Most of the sap, still shows staining.
Thinking of clay barring with a wash wax lube...

I have not used any superior products, but honestly, most chemicals will do just fine 👍 pick whichever is readily available to you 🙌
Steamer with bug and tar remover? For the sap.
I did consider the steamer, but thought I'd show with little resources for those who don't have the equipment ;) ill keep that in mind for the next detail tho! 😎 Thx for the tip!
What do you recommend to remove few days old Red Sap bleed Stain on a Pearl White Vehicle? Thanks
If it is stained, and no chemical is doing the work, then I would advise polishing the section 🤔
Of course, use your best judgment on how aggressive it should be. Try with an ultra fine polish by hand and see how that works 🤔
Wd40 works best for tar but i bet it would take sap off too.

I actually do not recommend this one, I used Chemical Guys Clay Block for the video. Instead, use a mid level clay that is easy to work in yet effective enough to remove the deposits.
You can use whichever clay from any brand, but if you need a recommendation Ill leave a link to the one I currently use: bit.ly/42bQgXE

You dont have to get it from the site, or even the same brand, it is a reference so you can shop at your local supplier if possible 😌
I personally do not use clay lube, instead, IPA as my slip solution. It preps and decons at the same time for a more effective clean 🧼 I use P&S Panel Prep. Not for anything in particular, it just makes financial sense as it is a glass cleaner and paint prep combo 👍

is it possible to safely remove baked on tree sap without destroying the sealant you have on the paint?
Nope, never. Its like bird droppings etching, you have to polish it no matter what to address. Like treesap, you have to use chemical and abrasive methods.

You mentioned a citrus based cleaner, what is it?
I had used Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss. I dont use it anymore only because I found KochChemie Super Foam to be more effective 👍
@CardosCarDose oh ok, so what were you using, when you were brushing the front, @6:40 "I agitate with some citrus based cleaner" What product and ratio was in the spray bottle?
Ah, that was Meguiars Citrus Power Cleaner Plus 🍊 I used it at 1 to 4 ratio. Of course you can use whichever APC you desire. 👍 I found that P&S Enviro Clean works better, foams greater, and costs less if you want to check it out

Never tried it 🤔 And Id rather let another youtuber do it 😂
Adam's Iron Remover does not work. Have a 2022 Civic (Black) and a 2023 Camry (Red) washed both cars separately for at least 1 hour between washes, and let them air dry for a few minutes. Sprayed Adam's Iron Remover on the Camry and let stand for 7 minutes so as not to let the car dry completely, there were no Purple marks. Did the same to the Civic and again no Purple marks. Rinsed off the worthless Adam's Iron Remover, dried both cars and waxed them. Waste of money as purchased 1 gallon of Adam's for $55.
Umm.... That means there is no iron contamination on your car 😬 If it still feels gritty, it is not metal based and likely something organic 🤔 This isnt an Adams thing, that happens to every iron remover out there.

Yes! I glued strong magnetics where the whole cut outs are so they just snap onto the nails of the license plate nails! 😎
What are the dimensions of the gazebo/shade hut you use?
Ooof, right when I sold them at a yard sale 😂 This one I think its 12ft x 12ft. I got it at walmart but they discontinued it 😔 Hope this info helps!

all of them 1 person can set it up, it just depends how much shade you want 😎
