- Boyd Holbrook portraiting Devil Anse's son 'Cap' in Hatfields and McCoys scene.
A posse led by Frank Phillips finds Jim Vance and Cap hunting in the mountains. Jim tells his nephew to break downhill and save himself, but Cap stays nonetheless, until Jim gets shot twice. Realizing he won't be able to save his uncle, Cap runs downhill scared to death and gets shot. However, he manages to escape. Jim Vance isn't as lucky.
One of my favorite scenes of the movie. I love Cap and JIm's relationship. Jim is a selfish mean old drunk and I think Cap and his dog are the only two he is actually willing to die for.
Facts
The dog is the mean is Jim Vances dog
Dude he would die for his brother devil anse 100%
@shwugyytcodm, Jim was Devil Anse’s uncle. Still, you’re probably right.
Nephew@@shwugyytcodm
Everyone did a great job in this series great acting they really got into the characters
They all really did, but if I had to pick one best actor from it, it would be Bill Paxton.
"Go on, git Cap! Can't you see i don't want you anymore!" *holds back tears*
I caught that, too. Jim, at least according to this show, was a mean son of a bitch, but he did love his grand-nephew, Cap, and it's easy to see how sending Cap running broke his heart, but at that moment, he just wanted his "adopted son" if you will, to be safe.
I loved in this show how Jim was always doing every single damn thing he could for Cap and hyping up his skills and talking him up to the rest of the family. Maybe he was outwardly showing love to his nephews son that he couldn't show to his nephew himself.
Even though Cap was Jim's grand-nephew, it's almost like Cap was in Jim's eyes the Son he didn't have.
That line where Jim says: "Goddammit boy, I said get! Or else I'll come back from hell and tan your hide," in my opinion was a reflection of that.
My grandma said that to me once. She said she would come back from the dead and get me of I ever played with an ouija board..... she was c,ose to death at this time.@thecowboy9698
I never even picked up that Tom Berringer played Jim. Well done good sir.
THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS nor did I until you pointed it out.Good on you as well sir!
Berringer is a very underrated actor
@@dnwlogisticsllc8609 very extreme in underrated
@@dnwlogisticsllc8609 Berenger, not Berringer. I diots !
@@dnwlogisticsllc8609 Another i diot that doesn´t know what the word underrated means....Tom Berenger is an Academy Award nominated actor with an extensive career and he´s one of the most well known and respected actors ever.
Jim McCoy...The lone brother.
now that's a real uncle
Jim might have died, but he went out fighting
He knew his day had come thats why he said he should have killed Bad Frank all those years before. He just didn't want cap to share his fate so he told him to make a break for it. He knew how bloodthirsty the Mccoy posses were at that point. And he was far too old to make it out the woods alive

@@yoyoma1587 - Nobody knows for sure how the the real-life Jim Vance was, but according to most, Jim was, according to one historian, "as mean as a damn snake."
Yet, at least in this miniseries, he does seem to have one "redeeming" quality, if you can actually call it redemeeing, and that is how he looks out for his grand-nephew, Cap.
Jim started it all..
Uncle Jim dying with his dog to save Cap was beautiful and bad@$$ at the same time ❤️
this is my favorite scene just for the shear skill of cap
I love this movie so realistic & great acting.
Anyone else notice Cap was whistling the same tune Cotton was when he killed Alifair McCoy?
remember the violin scene the guy was playing that tune on the violin and anse told him maybe another tune
from west Virginia, this place didn't fit west Virginia mainly the broadleaf trees and the long paths with very little rock, Google shows it filmed in Romania I believe it was , still a beautiful country.
What part of WV? I’m from Logan county, where some of this drama actually took place. And yes, I think the people did very well in finding a place that looks like southern WV/Eastern KY
@devingibson3031 Whitmer wv. In Randolph County.
@@18winsagin yea North Central WV is wayyyyy different than Southern WV, in terms of geography.
Uncle Jim was kinda a badass in the series loved him
My fav movie all time.
Jim Vance is my Favirote
I hated him.Only be sad for his dog.Very glad he died that way.
Mine too.
(In the film) The whole feud started because of him. It was all his fault
Jbd_Man Jim Vance is by far the most evil soul in this show.
Dylan Ontiberoz - Perry Cline was worse, because unlike Jim Vance, he would manipulate with you.
The death of uncle Jim, so sad!
Jim Vance was my great-great-great-grandfather. I'm honored to carry on his bloodline.
In this series he seems to be a sleazeball.
@@malachiwhite356 he’s a part of a generation that would fuck you up
I didn't realize Jim Vance had children. I heard he was married, and that it was he, Cap, and their wives that were ambushed by Frank Phillips, and that he was the first to spot what was coming and told the others to run.
But there was no mention that Jim and his wife had any children, and in trying to research the events for myself, I didn't read anything saying Jim had children, in fact a lot of what I read doesn't even mention his being married. From what I have read, most of it states or implies that Jim Vance was a mean, violent and ruthless man, though to what extent he participated in the events of the feud, from what I have heard and read, there seems to be some controversy.
Can you shed any light on these matters I have mentioned, or perhaps reccomend anything that can give the most accurate information on this piece of American history?
@@chris2145 In this series he seems to be a sleazeball.
@@thecowboy9698 He married Mary Collins, they had several children but his son John Vance is my great great grandfather. John had a son, also named John, he and Manda Mounts had my Great grandmother Addie
I love how they added some words from Berengers most famous role Platoon. Especially the “saddle up” line. Should have even had in there “lock and load” but I guess that would be to obvious
The first guy who gets shot was up in the tree. I have to wonder who in the hell thinks being stuck in a tree with no cover in a gunfight is a good idea?
Wisky. lots of wisky...
Hed had the high ground.
@carlost856, “the HIGH ground! (Borrowed from Gettysburg.
@thecowboy9698, well, he had the tree itself as cover. Partially. Of course, he might not have counted on Cap’s badassery with a Winchester.
This Was No Family Fued, it was a Civil War
Frank was a badass
I love Cap omg
You weren't gonna take Uncle Jim's dog alive that's for sure!!!
That was the saddest part. Jim Vance was a murderer, and so rightly so he deserved to die. The dog however was just an innocent animal who did nothing.
The real Jim Vance, during his lifetime had earned the nickname "Bad" Jim, or "Crazy" Jim; because of his extreme propensity for violence, and it was said his eyes would twitch at certain points. He was described as a mean looking fella, some say he was a psychopath cuz he enjoyed killing.
Who would've thought Jim to sacrifice himself to save another.
It is his nephew, and Jim is an old man at this point. Jim seems to care about his family Cap is its future, while Jim realistically would only have a few good years left at best (given the era and lifestyle).
Hatfield cousin here, I wonder what Uncle Anse's opinion would be of this movie..
Favorite scene, Jim Vance finally being put down.
Hatfield's all the way.. uncle Jim was a badass till the end
Both families were pieces of shit in reality. But, in the dramatized version of the show, yeah the Hatfields has some badass characters.
Wish I was related to the Hatfields but I'm a Polak lol
Damn Cap is perfect! 😍
Quisiera ver esta película completa
1:38 best part for Jim.
qual o nome da musica que o cego assuvia nesse ep alguém sabe?
I like both families
Yup Uncle Jim
Baddest
If sure felt good when Jim got capped.
Right before they killed jim. There's a tree with initial carved on it. Curious to what that means? Anyone. Unfortunately it's right after this video
Pumped up kicks
Jim McCoy!
jim vance wasn't a McCoy
@@RepublicOfTheWolfPackXanthera Guy with the shotgun who killed him, that was Jim McCoy.
@@tuckerhodges8801 oh i always wondered what would happen if i could go back in time and sell both sides ak47s
I feel quiet hungry
Why not just break & run backwards to find better positions ?
tough fight!!!!but i dont think that this was the way that really happened
No it wasn't close to a tough fight, it was an ambush...
Wonderful RASNOV wood😉
If I was on one of there sides it would have to be the hatfields
I wish Cap track Frank Phillips down and gut him slow
Bronx!
Cap hatfild e' um gala
Bad Frank Phillips was a damn coward if he could kill Hatfield like no one else why did he need 10 people to help kill one Hatfield
if anyone watching this is related to him I meant what I said and I'm not taking it back
If you have a target, the important thing is getting him down without unnecessary risk. Jim Vance was dangerous and Bad Frank adressed the situation the correct way.
Sharp shootin!
♥️ 🥃 💖🤣💥
How the hell did they let Cap escape? I wanted him to die more than any other character in the series.
Helmut83 up yours a******
Wtf
MoniqueDelossaints what did i say
Wtf why?
Why ? Cap was the best Character, for sure better than the little biitch Johnsen. If It was Cap in love. with a woman he would have fought for her, since he was a true warrrior. Jolhnsen was a little bitch that let the woman he loved to die alone because he wasn't man enough to take her away after destroiyng her life.
