Favourite of all my half dozen mandos …. none of that nasty shrill top end .. and … like the way you play it!😊Got the Park ave one too .. but not as nice to my ear as the ‘woodier’ sounding New Yorker
Thanks for leaving this video up. I picked up one of these at a pawn shop in a hard case because of your demo. It sounds fantastic for the price I paid and the neck feels great too..
I know this video is a few years old, but I'm thinking of buying a used Mandolin and I found a used Gretsch and a new Loar. Do you think the Gretsch would be a good mandolin for someone who wants to pick up the instrument again after several years of not playing, or would a newer Loar be a better choice? Thanks so much !
It's so nice to hear a mandolin being demoed by someone that 1) knows how to play the mandolin, and 2) knows how to mic a mandolin. Thanks!
These are a great value for the price. You can definitely get nicer mandolins but the tone and sustain from these is admirable all the same.
Wow ; lovely tone from that Gretsch
I played one of these at a Sam Ash the other day and I just loved the woody tone. I already have two mandolins so, sigh...
I like this mandolin, it has a interesting tonal quality, not for bluegrass but there are other music styles it would fit.

Lovely instrument by the way.

That's a lovely tune. Could you tell me what it is called?
I like it how much does it cost where do I order one at. What kind of strings are on it.

What happened to the pick guard ? Did you removed it or it didn't come with one ? I just purchased this one and it has a pick guard .
