the real meaning of lego. building what you wanted using your imagination without specific parts. back then its all about visualization and creativity. this awesome.
46 dislikes? what's not to like? this was made at a time when the variety of available Lego parts was tiny in comparison to what there is today. i think they did a fabulous job with what they had
1:24, 3:24 Teamwork. 1:53 They must've run out of white bricks for the snail eyes. 2:01 Blegh. 2:05 Was that meant to happen? 2:54 Big crash. 4:06 Poor guy.
that was awesome, really enjoyed watching it. i have a question: for the moving shots during the race (when the camera and cars are moving) did you just move the camera a little bit every frame? because i always wondered about that and it came out really smooth
amazing! love the aged look, takes me back to Jack the Lego Maniac! And the song, I was like I know that, then it hit me, Jean Jacques Perrey - gossipo perpetuo, great choice!!!
I’m always impressed whenever someone makes a build using brick built people instead of mini figures
I think mini figures weren't invented yet when this was created.
it was what Lego figurines looked like at the time it was made
@@Powerateapparently these came out about a decade after minifigures were made
I love these old Lego animations. So cool that they're preserved on UA-cam like this in such good quality.
dude I wrecked my VHS tape of these by watching it so many times as a kid
the real meaning of lego. building what you wanted using your imagination without specific parts. back then its all about visualization and creativity. this awesome.
After this race, a new Concorde Agreement was hashed out, banning eight-wheeled two-seaters and caravans from ever taking part in F1 races again.

The good old days

the good old old days
1:29 TYRRELL POWER MODE ON
Amazing. What is so good about this is that the personality has really come out. Which is the goal of any artist.
1:24, 3:24 Teamwork.
1:53 They must've run out of white bricks for the snail eyes.
2:01 Blegh.
2:05 Was that meant to happen?
2:54 Big crash.
4:06 Poor guy.
The f1 engine sound like a nascar or a muscle car.
2:01 Snail: BLEGH!!!😂😂😂
thanks for all those great lego movies... I used to watch those videos when I was a little kid :)
I saw this i belive some 20 years ago.. on national tv.. and i remembered it today, and went searching for it.. epic.. really epic.
That was absolutley the best stop motion I've ever seen and so funny, I loved it when the caravan won, surreal!
I remember watching this when I was a kid.
+48fanfromky Same.
When I was kid I LOVED this video
Sure it is! Maybe you don't remember what LEGO pieces looked like in the '70s and '80s.
That had to have been the late 70's...
Awesome stuff. Must have taken an AGE to create.
An very historocal lego video about 1989 F1 Grand Prix
I HAVR FOUND IT AFTER 5-6 YEARS YESSSSSS
Kgbhoneytits 15 years for me!!!!!
This is the most epic And exciting F1 race You'll ever seen XD
They used to play this on TSN all the time during commercial breaks. I was wondering if anyone uploaded it, and they did! Awesome.
now that is stop motion at its finest
All this needs is Murray Walker commentating.
IF ONLY ALL f1 RACES WERE LIKE THIS.
Gods! I've been searching for this EVERYWHERE! I actually have this on tape somewhere in my house but I can't seem to find it. Thanks a bunch!
1:29 And That, my kids, is the story of how Tyrrell P34 was born
Car spins around, turns into airplane. Interesting
The episode that introduced me to this little mini series.
NOSTALGIA i used to watch these 4 years old (now im 12)
I remember watching this as a child for the first time in probably 2010.
i was obsessed with the hockey one and i found it in like 2010 and watched it like ten billion times
that was awesome, really enjoyed watching it. i have a question: for the moving shots during the race (when the camera and cars are moving) did you just move the camera a little bit every frame? because i always wondered about that and it came out really smooth
I know this is late, but yes; and it must be done very precisely
1:31 " HOTRANDY AND BUBBLEGUM!" i lol'd at that part XD
I was product manager in LEGO Publishing when we had this and other LEGO sports films shot i Hungary in the beginning of 1980
All of your videos I have watched and I like them all. Great job
great animation from the good old days. Regards
Those guys should be arrested for trespassing
I was gonna ask how long ago it was made... looked to me like about 30 years. I agree-- an astounding job!
Funniest You Tube clip I've seen in ages - sheer genius! Oh and well done the Top Gear Team for a terrific win!
this vid is good because the cars seem to have acceleration, the line speeds are not the same at corners.
VERY NICE !!!
its gotta be impossible to overtake in that kind of track LOL
very nice lego video
a F1 car with a caravan!!?? you joking
A Caravan That wasn't participating in All the race And had an epic win on last lap
My F1 cars would love to drive on your circuit!
How the hell did the Camper win? They had to be at least 50 laps down!
wow! amazing! that video was great!
Serves that family right for camping during a Grand Prix.
Oh god! Saw this as kid so many times
motorhomes on the track? the FIA would not approve
awesome animation. i love the lego kids playing with legos
wow! that must have taken a long time to make. good job, it was fun to watch.
1.White-Black Car
2.ex aequo Yellow,Blue,Orange +almost 4 sec
....
Last position:Camping Car -49 laps
This was made 30 years ago! they didn't have minifigures! An astounding job.
Too bad the end credits don't seem to be on these episodes. I have several on 16mm that indicate they were animated by a studio in Hungary.
Fascinating. Do you know what year these were made? The newest piece that I spotted was the family car's wheel at 2:58, first introduced in 1986.
I would assume from that time period.
Lego films were produced by VIANCO Studio in Budapest, Hungary in the 90s. my papa Miklós Salusinszky was the producer :))
I think that those cars are from 1974-1980
the family is COOL!!! awesome video.
I used to rent this on tape at our library ALL THE TIME!!!!
Tyrrell P34 Reference 1:29
It started getting a little goofy toward the end, but so frikkin well done. Great job!

@gqsm I think it's 200 Film as opposed to 'Zoo'. Wouldn't nitpick usually but that ad stuck in my head too.
That is very realistic! How did you do the landscape?
coolest vid of stop motion ever
I always thought the car horn was saying "PLease EXCUSE me!" Or "Hello stupid!"
2:01 - 4:07
I should be doing homework right now, but instead I ended up watching Lego f1 racing.... SO WORTH IT! :D
There could be one based on ballet because ballet is a popular sport just like soccer, gymnastics and figure skating.
@TheyCallHimDietSeth You are kinda right. it was made in 1984.
Excellent! A+++ Now that's what I'm talking about! Best video ever! Congratulations!
Came out on VHS way back in 1987.

@Tiamat583 it took one month, 10-12 hours per day/week
they couldn't win because they were multiple laps down
They didn't even started And didn't Made Part of All the race, Just the last two laps
