So needed this! Setting this up for my company and found this video and subscribed. Your blog is awesome, too! Thanks for this awesome resource. Keep them coming!
Thank you very much.! Your presentation was clear and concise. Superb! I was looking for something to monitor our 3cx servers, and this looks like just what the doctor ordered. Much appreciated.
I configured my host with an SNMPv2 but upon searching in the template, I can't see any option for SNMPv2. I only have "Template Net Network Generic Device SNMP", not SNMPv2. Please help, thanks!
Installing zabbix on nuc instead of running on vm is a bit naive. You still have a SPOF (more resiliant, but still). Did you consider running it in k8s cluster spanning on already existing infrastructure and maybe adding the nuc as the last straw of bulletproofing?
Separate hardware is faster and safer, instead of putting all your eggs in one basket. Its needed especially for a tool which needs to run 24x7 without maintenance interruptions.
Nagios is a good tool. Personally, I haven't used it, but I know people who have it in their environments. The main reason why I didn't use it becasue the free version has limitations, I don't want to pay for Nagios Enterprise features which Zabbix offers for free. If I am paying, then I will go with SolarWinds. Are you looking for a monitoring solution to implement?

Thanks, great tutorial
I am here for the doughnuts and sound effects.
Not a lot going on here other than looking at the Zabbix website. How do you apply hosts to templates? or is it the other way around?
Check how to link a template example here ua-cam.com/video/-evei1v_C7w/v-deo.html.
Thanks buddy
Great Intro, does it work on all platforms , is it free?
It is free and works on the most platforms. Check supported platforms here www.zabbix.com/documentation/current/en/manual/installation/requirements.
Thank you for creating this video, its really helpful. unable to find the next video, Can you please help, sharing the link.
Here is the full playlist ua-cam.com/play/PLuB-nSPBO_bOZPGnaHCguvyky-Ruu0qJE.html and blog posts blog.masteringmdm.com/category/open-source/zabbix/
Does it do hardware temps too?
As long as the template supports these features, yes it does.
