Zabbix Agent - Active Checks

- Zabbix agent is one of the most popular Monitoring type choices for OS monitoring. In addition Zabbix provides a possibility to choose how the Agent will operate in terms of networking and internal data processing. In this video we wanted to show you how to configure Active checks in Zabbix that allows to monitor even those environments where incoming connections are not allowed.

Hi, great video and explanation, It seems like the 'out of the box' templates are mostly built from passive checks. So if I want to offload my server then I have to build my own templates using active checks only? It's impossible to simply choose the way of monitoring without this additional work. Am I right?
Very good video Dmitry, thankyou... A little question: any item can be configured as active or passive agent? Is there a list about what items are for active o passive monitoring?

Hi, Thanks for this useful video again. I have a question about active agent registration. Is there any easy way to switch the agent interface to DNS instead of IP? I found how autofill works with PTR records it's fine. I found USEIP field in the DB but I cant find any simple/correct solution to switch it without modifiing the database. I talk about thousands of clients, I dont wanna make it manually of course :)

I am looking for some help in adding host groups in Zabbix in bulk from CSV file(are sub groups available? I believe not) . also I have to add SNMP hosts in those respective groups around 3000 switches. would you be able to share some script. I also would like to request for a video on Vcanter monitoring with using the tags of Vcentre to create the respective host groups. I have watched your video and I use them as my reference point when I get stuck. your are doing great effort to help other Zabbix enthusiast . I highly appreciate your work. You are doing wonderful work to help and grow the Zabbix community.

Im using zabbix 5.0 but messages "zbx_notsupported: accessible only as active check"
From what I am understanding, you have to configure active checks on the client side.. Why not just configure the client to ask the server for what it is supposed to check? Wouldn't that make a lot more sense and make life easier?

Yes, it can be.
Installed on a VM running a minikube cluster. So, you actually install the agent on the VM, outside the minikube virtualization.

Everything is set, also firewall is disabled on server and client: "active check configuration update from [:10051] started to fail (ZBX_TCP_READ() timed out) "
First thing that you can do is check the Zabbix server graphs to confirm that the trapper processes are not overloaded. Remember, that Active checks connect to Zabbix trapper processes and if they are overloaded, the connection may fail.
If that is the case, open up the Zabbix server configuration file, increase the number of StartTrappers, restart the server and check if the situation has improved.
@@zabbix Server load is minimal, trapper is okay. Now I disabled all my clients from active to passive and left only one. Still got the same error O.o Also tried with different version of zabbix clients, but got the same error. I also upgraded the zabbix server to the latest version, but no, it's not working. I am completely out of ideas...
i have a problem with all windows versions where i don't have any response from zabbix agent on windows and it is red color, i have searched in web but i don't get any solution...please help me
