if I hear enough people possibly wanting shirts we will talk to the company to get it set up. we will have several different options for logos or shirts. - Навчання та стиль
Thanks guys I just had my ecm replaced on my 95 F150 Xlt. The odometer didn't work after the Ecm replacement. I have good troubleshooting skills from my years in the Air Force. I saw your video and thought to myself the odometer was working before the Ecm change. The shop I took it to started with excuses to why it's not working. I went to the truck and performed a reset of the speedometer. I saw the speedometer deflect full right then to zero and the odometer started to show the CAL on the display. At that point I new I hit pay dirt . I pushed the trip odometer several times all 1s then 2s......etc back to reset. Turned off ignition then started it up the current mileage is show. YOU SAVE ME A MAJOR HEADACHE. THANK YOU
Thanks for your help it works on my 1993 Ford lighting 315/35/r17 I set it on 1061 is perfect
This worked very well. If you want yours to be perfec tuse an 878. It worked right on the money as a gps spedo. This is if your actual rolling diameter is 32. Most 33 size tires are an actual 31.5-32".
Thanks for your help I did my 1993 lighting 315/35r17 I set on 1061 it works perfect
Hi, How did you get the calculation? I have a 93 spoke and I want to configure it, would you also help me by remembering what CAL it comes with for 275/60R17 for the original tire?
Just a little FYI for you guys. The inflated tire diameter may not be the same as the actual rolling diameter. I found this out through a Drag race buddy. His 33" tall tires on his truck had a rolling diameter of 32.187" / 32-3/16". To figure true rolling diameter, Inflate the tires to the PSI you are going to run them. Then use a carpenter's square and find the center of the axle. Then use a felt pen or paint pen and mark the bottom of the wheel next to the carpenters square and mark the driveway at the same time. Then push the truck forward one full revolution so the carpenters square lines up with the center of the axle and the mark on the wheel. At this time place another mark on the driveway. Then measure the distance between your two marks on the driveway. Divide that number by 3.14159 (Pie) to get your true tire diameter. I have tried this on several sets of tires through the years and none of them have the same rolling diameter as the actual inflated diameter. Once you know the actual rolling diameter then you can correct the speedometer more accurately.
Just a time saving trick for you. If you inflate your tire to the psi like you said. Instead of doing the square and roll test. Get a sewing tape or tailors tape measure. It's the soft tape measure a tailor uses to measure clothes. Raise the truck and wrap the tire to get your measurements without moving the truck.
@@dontdoitdonnell4750 I wonder if that is accurate. When a tire rolls, it also changes the shape of the tire whereas just jacking up the wheel has no deformation. Okay, since you posted the new method then YOU have to do the measurement both ways and let us know if the measurements come out the same.
@@STBRetired1 if you mark the tire at 6 o clock and then mark it at 6 o clock again when your first mark gets to 12. Then deformity is not a factor because you are still measure the tire as a whole. 1 revolution is a full 360° so the tire could be flat with no air and you would still measure from point A around the full circumference of the tire(center of tread) to point B and get the same measure.
you guys are awesome i tried this on my 96 150 with 33/12.5/15 tires and used a garmin gps and im not off period they both read the same
pmorris35 thank you we just try to show anything we can to help people be able to do it themselves shops charge way too much. thank you for watching and commenting!!!
i appreciate you guys too
What was your calibration?
Is this applicable to the ranger as well??
Good info to know. I personally would rather have the speedo reading a couple MPH faster than actual speed, instead of slower than actual.
That "safety" factor comes in handy if someone else is driving while you're in the passenger seat. Keeps them honest.
What would be the equation for a 33x12.5x20 lt tires
do u know what the factory number was for a 235/75/15
I got the PSOM grounded but it won’t let me change the calibration
Nobody noticed the voltmeter read 8 volts or was pegged to the zero end of the gauge?
Damn dude, how did you get 636 revs for your tire size of 33x12.5x15 tires. Everything I look at shows that size as 611 revs. I have factory 235x85r16 and the revs are 636, and your tire is over an inch taller?
I put a used speedometer in our work truck, 97 Ford, now the milage isn't right how do I reset the mileage
lol .. "I passed it, can you help me tab the button", 500 clicks later, if you don't like the number you can turn off the switch before clicking reset and start over :D ..
Thanks for the info tho.
:)
I have a 1996 ford F150. Had to put new steering column in and truck speedometer doesn’t work, no digital mileage and shift hard. I’m at a lose
It's better to be low than to be high to have less of a chance of getting a speeding ticket if it's slow you know what I mean I believe that might even be exponential the faster you go the further off it gets
Hi
My 1995 ford E-350 transmission shift early because the speedometer needs calibration the tire size 225/75/R26 i don't know how to get the conversion constnt please i need help to find the number
Thank you
I got this size here 37 x13.50 r17 can someone help please.
Hi question... Is it possible to do an engine swap 4.9 to 5.8 with a supercharger intake 5-speed '93 F150
from what I read it will bolt right in. i love my long life 4.9 but its at almost 300k miles and still runs super, however i know a engine swap is coming to a 351 of about the same years. the 4.9 is a legend motor, that ford still should be putting in trucks, but you cant sell new trucks, when they dont break down.
What would be my number if I have 35x12.5r15? I'm running 4.10 gears front and rear for my 93 5.8l Full Size Bronco. Thank you for your help.
Ever figure it out?
someone help.. my number won't adjust with selector
Hey guys I put new shoes 22x14 on 37s in my truck, 96 f350 what is the psom calibrate
Did u get it figured out?
Ihave used my GPS while travelling with Ford, Jeep, GMC, and Honda vehicles. All of them show my speed two to three miles an hour more than what my GPS shows.
Would having the incorrect values affect the shifting? I've been having random hard shifting (overdrive light coming on) for the last 13 years... have tried replacing speed sensor in the rear differential... Just curious if this could be causing it as well, if my tire size doesn't match the PSOM values. Thank you!
No It should not effect the shifting. I have noticed the overdrive buttons on the end of the selectors going bad or breaking alot may be your issue for overdrive.
Replace your psom entirely. Yours is likely gone out. The symptoms you describe are that of a faulty psom
I need help with my calibration please.
40x13.5x17 tires 522 rev/mile
17 wheels
10.5 Ford rear with 120 speedo ring.
Any help is appreciated.
Did u ever get it figured out?
Anyone know what the revolutions for 31×10.50×15 tires and wheels??
these tires have a diameter of 31.0", a section width of 10.5", and a wheel diameter of 15". The circumference is 97.3" and they have 651 revolutions per mile and the PSOM number is 879
@@tonycrapello4645 thank u for the info that is my tire size and i,ve already been pulled over by the cops so i have to fix the speedo
i went from 235/85/16 to 265/75/16. what should i put in
The equation for 16 inch wheels is multiply by .135 instead of the 15 inch wheels being .0135
QUESTION...I replaced my 1994 F250 gauge cluster chassis with a new one. All the gauges worked OK in the old chassis, but one of the electrical connections on the vertical plug cluster was looking like it was the worst for wear. Upon reinstalling the old gauges in the new chassis, now my fuel, and temp gauges are reading waaaaay off the mark. what could be the problem? Everything on the new chassis looks new and clean. It was a gauge chassis for a 95, but looked identical otherwise. Anybody got any ideas?
If you are still looking for a solution the same thing happened to me. Turned out the face of the gauges are just covers that somehow came loose and slid down on the indicator needle and was not allowing them to move properly. After I took mine back apart I noticed this, so I took some glue and put the covers back in place.
@@mikehenry4743 I found out that the gauge cluster chassis for the 95 has some differences. I don't know if that was because mine 1994 is a diesel or what but there were differences. Some gauges worked on one chassis and not the other. I about tore my hair out trying to figure the problem. Then just when I was about to jump off a cliff, a good friend of mine, said he had bought a roll of about 1/8 th inch wide electrical contact tape. It has an adhesive backing. I took some of it and recovered the contacts that were questionable where the electrical harness plugs in.....and WALAA everything came back to life. I was about ready to send off the gauge cluster and have a new printed circuit installed on the back of the chassis. That would have been in the hundreds of dollars + shipping. My whole problem was solved with less than 3 inches of electrical contact tape placed over each of the contact areas from the plug-in electrical harness to the circuit board. Hope this helps anyone having the same problem.
@@johnnyohness6610 Oh my, you've given me hope. I just bought a '94 F-150 XL. The gas tank selector switch works but the gas gauges don't. The previous owner did say that the gauge cluster was a junkyard replacement. Well, pulling the gauge cluster will be a lot easier than pulling off the 8' bed and checking out the Fuel Delivery Module(s) (FDM). Thanks for the tip.
Any chance you know the calibration number for 96 f150 35x12.50x15
Did you figure it out?
thanks guys i got pulled over on july4th doing 48 in a 35 but my speedo said i was doing 40 i have 31x10.50 15 and as you possible know truck came with 235/75/15
tell it to the judge kid
You 2 look like twins. But they are nice shirts.
I also changed gears from 3.55 to 4.10. Do I need to do anything different?
I went from 3.08 to 3.55 on my 96 f150 I need to know about same thing, did you find a answer to your ?
No, speed is off of your rear ABS, you only need to recalculate it if it's off, or you have changed tire sizes.
My 1995 speedometer and the miles don't work to read the miles
How do you guys even get the tire size. Mine are 235/75/15 and I still don’t know how to even find the formula for this thing. I got a 1995 Ford F-150 and the speedometer is stuck at 70.
Did u ever find the formula for your tire size?Having the same issue.
@@2ssonora162 I didn’t. I just said f*ck it and slapped on some 2005 ram rims still
699 for the 235/75 r15
@@2ssonora162 hey brotha can u help me with my calibration number I have 37x13.50r17
Lol.... I loved it when you missed the number ...that's something I would do I guarantee ya...
"Nintendo finger" Chuckle...
What calibration My 92 f150 wheels 295-50 R15
10.23 (1023) I think your tires are too small to recalibrate.
@@mikehenry4743 Can you please do mine? 225/55/r18.
@@gotrain4me Sorry, but they are outside the range that can be calibrated.
Did you ever get that number?
I felt that pain when you passed 859 lol
If u had a digital reading in the truck it would Read right on. Those readings in them old trucks r off never like digital
damn it blake
Would have been nice to include the actual formula.. And a faulty speedo will not get you out of a ticket anywhere in the known universe..
It got me off with a warning. Mine is reading about 5 mph fast but the trooper said it was 10 fast.
i just use my GPS. to see how fast i"m going, most accurate.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You had a lot of girl friends in highschools didn't ua
