Great informative video. I have got a Sole F80 Treadmill with the LS1 error, which occasionally abruptly stops after 17 seconds. Could the speed sensor be faulty, out of adjustment or a solder joint on controller has gone bad? How do you check the solder, to see if its bad? I contacted Sole, who mentioned the speed sensor or control board and to try recalibrating the treadmill, but the problem persists. Your thought?
Well thank you. I would start with running the unit with no one on it. This will check the speed sensor and board (some what) if it runs with no user then belt is worn and overheating controller
Great video, I have a different problem I think. My sole f80 treadmill will not turn on when the deck is in the down position, if I raise the deck as if I was going to store the treadmill it turns on but once I lower it it turns off again. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@@MrGrebnellow Well that’s really odd I would check or replace the lower harness and middle. The closest video I have on this is ( installing sole f/63 treadmill wire harness)
I have a Sole F80 treadmill and last night I was getting the LS1 Low Speed error. I believe the speed sensor is bad as you have indicated because the machine stops and throws the LS1 Low Speed error at between 8-15 seconds with or without someone on the machine. I am confused though because my speed sensor is not mounted on top like yours is, mine is mounted down, on the side of the frame. Is that normal? Also, I looked on your website but I can't discern where the speed sensor is to buy one to try to replace it. Would you please link it to me? Lastly, can I install the new speed sensor top mounted like yours is in the video? Thank you sir! These videos are super helpful!
Hmm E/5 is listed as a communications issue.Could be lots of things. How did it happen ,does it run at all . Send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@ gmail.com so I can send you links for testing
I am an electrical engineer and am looking at purchasing an F63 or F80. I see that LS1 error is a common complaint in 1-star reviews. If this is the only issue I am not that much worried. So in this video you mentioned reed switch for the speed sensor. So on the latest 2021-22 models please clarify if this a mechanical reed switch or an inductance hall-effect sensor? Also, would you consider the diagnostics (LED etc) on the control boards above or below average for Sole treadmills vs other treadmill brands?
Hi Brad I think all treadmills under 3k use the same reed switch. The reason the LS1 code is so common has little to do with the switch. It is the main fault code for all none non movement belt issues on all sole units from 2007 to 2016 ! So that’s a lot units! Bad motor bad controller, worn walking belt, no signal from console, all cause no belt movement. When people talk badly about that code they really don’t understand! They stopped using it in 2016 new controller different codes! About troubleshooting they are all about the same. Power light. Speed up and down , incline up and down, maybe a pmw light that is about it. I have all my customers judge treadmills buy there warranty the longer they trust them the better I like them
I have a Sole F63 that is getting an LS1 error- we just replaced the speed sensor but it is still not working. The treadmill will click, roll for a few seconds, and then stop and we get the LS1 error. We tried manually moving the wheel and the speed sensor light would not appear. Is this a control board issue? When the treadmill is on the main control board light is green (which I think means it's fine?) but we cannot figure out what the issue is because it seems to be something related to the speed sensor but can't quite figure out what! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Well sometimes the controller does not process the speed sensor. To be sure meter the sensor. But it could be a solder joint on controller has gone bad
@@this-is-slammin-549 No not really on the years under 2016 the unit will not run without sensor. But from 2016 and up the speed sensor is used only for calibration. So if it’s a newer model and you haven’t changed any parts the sensor shouldn’t be a factor for troubleshooting

@@FitnessTechnologyServices the issue was the power cord that goes into the treadmill was loose 🤦🏼 haha

Hi Daniel the two speed sensor work the same so you can interchange them. I always do. The part number is F030191
What is the E5 error on the sole f80. I can’t get a straight answer anywhere

Hey, did you guys find out what the ER 5 is? My Sole F80 is cutting off after about 30 minutes running time with ER5

Can you bypass the speed sensor to trouble shoot?

@ when calibrating how do you know the size of the wheel?
I’m going to go ahead and order a speed sensor. They are cheap. I think that’s my issue.
How do you know if the speed sensor is bad? I don’t have a green light on the main board when it rolls
Well I think you will have to meter it .it is a open/closed signal is this a older unit with red leds ??
