Me: Man this looks cool but I just bought an OP-Z recently and don’t need the gear. Me after watching this beautifully shot and edited demonstration: Well, I don’t REALLY need food and gas for a month.
Haha. To be honest, I really recommend getting to know the OP-Z thoroughly before hoarding new gear. It's an amazing device, especially the sequencer is superb. Some of the synth engines are a bit poor in my opinion, but especially the new analog one sounds good and with samples it's easy to get some amazing results.
I just noticed your channel through the OPZUser subreddit and I have to say that I was surprised how few subscribers you had relative to how awesome your content it! Anyway, it's one more now. ;) [And I hope that it will increase even further with time!]
David Knight awesome! Haha, yes it’s a bit of a christmas tree especially if the room is otherwise dark. I’ve used it couple of times in an airplane during nighttime when the lights are off and it’s always a crazy discoque.
Great video of progress since that door bell rang!,,,looking forward to many more videos that may come too!! I’ve not yet purchased my Deluge so this video and hopefully many more will give me a true insight in regards to the learning curve ahead. Just like to thank you for the upload and to say that it’s very much appreciated!,,,oh and I’ve now subscribed to your channel too!!! Thanks,John 🏴
David Knight cool! At least for me the shipping was really fast so hopefully you get yours quickly. Are you familiar with other grooveboxes? And more videos on the way!
David Knight damn. The good thing is that it’s worth every penny. In my opinion it’s really intuitive so you’ll be in good speed pretty much instantly since you’re already familiar with other grooveboxes. Have fun!
Seems like a really nice groovebox, yes. However, there are still a lot of things I like the OP-Z for too, such as step components, portability and the minimalistic design.
@@whaleshaveteeth the op-z is still an amazing machine. Ive just found the sound design really difficult as a beginner and the workflow a bit cryptic sometimes, That and my general lack of skill made all my music sound a bit chiptuneish. The presets on the deluge seem more "grown up" and the workflow looks super intuitive to me. Visual like the opz but with more info. Ive ordered one... I'm hoping it will help me explore more and improve as a consequence. The op-z will most likely be sold. Keep the videos coming. Ive become a really big fan.
Benjamin Williams yep, it’s pretty to sound chiptuneish with the Z, especially with the stock presets. Have fun with the Deluge! It’s great. And yes, I’ll keep them coming.
Haha, I know what you're talking about. I had the same for a while but recently I've been more inclined towards TE gear again. I guess the Deluge phase is rising again soon, heh.
If you have not found it yet the best way to get random with it is using the random arp mode, you can also add probability to some of the notes in the chord to have more random notes in the arp. They are also adding a random sequencer in the next big update I believe
"Overnight oats is an alternative way of preparing oatmeal that doesn’t involve any cooking. Rather than the traditional method of boiling oats, overnight oats are mixed with milk, or a dairy-free alternative, and left overnight in the fridge, allowing the oats to hydrate. While you're sleeping, the overnight oats absorb the liquid and other ingredients, soften up, and form a delicious texture that makes for a great breakfast food. Add in some extras ingredients still, like chia seeds, Greek yogurt, fruit, vanilla, flax, or peanut butter, and you have yourself a delicious and healthy breakfast."

Whales Have Teeth i gotta agree with Whales, a lot of people put their own sweat and blood into development, sucks when another company just comes in and copies the innovation. Might be worth it to support the people innovating and not just copying n
@@baqcasanke I don't care about supporting smaller brands if their product is not affordably priced. I'll happily pay for innovation, new ideas and creativity but not for the fact that it's a small-batch release with PCBs soldered by artisan hipsters wearing fedoras.
Thank you for making this bearable (enjoyable) to listen to and being informative too.
Not just repeating the same init patch for 25 minutes.😅
Haha thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Great first video - Deluge brings out the creativity in all of us!
Sounds effects are on point! Watching 'cause i just bought one and i'm waiting impatiently.
I loved this video, and that last tune was brilliant.
Man, this is the first video I've seen on the deluge...i think I'm gonna have to get one at some point. This is incredible.
Cheers! It’s a great box indeed.
This is the kind of visual feedback I need when working with a groovebox!!!!
Exactly!
Awesome. Welcome to the club. Subbed to watch the journey.
Bay Mud thanks, will report!
You’re first day series are really nice - exactly what I’m looking for to get inspired 🥳
Cheers mate!
Great job ! I’ve received mine yesterday and it’s a beautiful gear ! Thanks for the tuto !
Cheers mate! Indeed, it's an amazing box. Enojy!
Great job on that Deluge first day. I just got mine, yet, I am sure it will take much longer learning curve. Yet, your video is inspiring to LEARN it!

Isti115 haha, dunno. Cheers mate, welcome on board!
Nice snapshot of your first impressions. Although, I had a really pressing urge to rip a guitar solo when you started to add those 80s drums. 🎸
It arrived in under a week!.... the first thing I did was to turn the lights down on it :-)....just amazing bit of kit!

funny video you come up with, it's like a path to master this device, nice)
great video! I am trying to decide to rather purchase the Deluge or the Akai Force.
My god that thing looks incredible. Its everything I wish my opz was

@@baqcasanke I had used the screen aswell. Just couldn't get the sounds in my head on to the device.
Admittedly, it'll be 95% my fault.
what is the benefit of overnight oats? Does it taste different? Asking for myself. :)
They have a bit more resonant and otherworldly tone compared to the warm and analog vibe of regular porridge
Why did i not bought this instead of mpc one...don't get me wrong, mpc one is a beast but this seems more personal
I've never tried MPC One, but that seems really nice too. And yeah, Deluge is amazing.
I reckon my Deluge probably arrived about the same time as yours. I haven't switched on my OP-1 since...

You sound like my cello teacher. "Great vibrato! Now everything is all wobbly and shit!"
Well it was about time I guess. 😉
The way I learn new gear is similar to what you are doing here.
Watching UA-cam and just pressing buttons and turning knobs without ever touching the manual? 😀
@@whaleshaveteeth all of my manuals are still in plastic 🤦🏾♂️
After having it a while -thoughts? What are you using it with or to replace?
