I was addicted to this game in college. One interesting thing about this machine is that if you do a death save, it will flash "Death Save". I'd love to have a bank of about 10 quality machines, but that would take some cash. Nice video.
Back around 1997 or 1998, my local arcade at the mall was selling this table for I think $450, maybe $600, but no more than that. I was only 15 at the time though so I had no way of buying it myself, but man I wish I had somehow convinced my parents to buy me the Star Wars table, $600 for it would've been the best steal ever lol. The machine seemed to be in really good condition too, I played it every time I went to the arcade and didn't notice any problems with it. It did have A LOT of wear, but it still played fine.
This brought back so many memories. I loved this game! My best ever score was 496 million points, over 25 years ago but I still remember. Ah, the feeling when you hit the deathstar with the right flipper or the force with the left... Those were the days. :)
Oh man, how many quarters did I put into the one at the Bowling Alley by my house in Colorado. Man I loved that machine! And I got to be so good I got the Replay Everytime!
Loved playing this back in the day. Just brought one that needs some TLC but can't wait to get playing again. Great vid, looks fantastic....brilliant sir!
Favorite pinball machine ever. It also helps that I'm a major Star Wars fan as well. Am I the only one who prefers Data East machines over Bally, Williams, etc?
this game has 1 of the best pinball starwars sounds and music scores of all time! sound and music designer brian schmidt at his best! i love the music sequence when u hit the last moon for multiball ready.. that sound and music package alltogether is something special.. i love to keep hearing it.. deathstar approaching BANG Multiball Ready song kicks in, with some sort of fanfare at the start.. not to begin with the multiball start sequence WITH an amazing light package all together.. this is pinball magic in 1 box.. i love this game so much.. i was proud owner of it 20 years ago, but i had to sell it due to space :(
Probably my favourite pinball machine ever! Only seen it in one place, played several times. Shame it is not to the best of my knowledge emulated anywhere.
You got me there, I don't know sorry. I was talking to George Gomes at the ERA and he told me they used them for JM which surprised me as I have had the pin for years and was convinced they were mostly sound bites from the film!
Hi Larry, I sold in in Febuary and didnt have the new code installed but I have just finnished shopping one for someone that has it and it seems to make it much more ballanced so you don't just shoot the ramp for points, having said that I think LAH blows it away as a game so it was history!
its so nice to play this thing :D but man! in your first round - you could push the "fire"-button when the ball is in the R2D2 to open the death star and you directly have the chance to shot into the Death Star after the ball is coming out :D
This game use to be in the Bowling Alley by where I use to live as a kid. I'd always get the free game! Only on the first play, I think I only ever got enough points on the second time like once. Because when you get a free game the amount needed for a free game doubled. At least it was programmed that way at the machine in the bowling alley.
The most interesting thing about this pinball is that the Force features (and the hidden rewards behind) are always changing each time. If you're lucky you might start with a Lite Special right away. Other than that, I can see a LW3 and a Jurassic Park machine too... Nice collection you have :)
Hmmm I know this is a little late in the day but, I notice your R2D2 is not responding when a ball goes underneath it (especially with R2D2 runaway mode)...Otherwise a great machine, I've had mine now for 2 years and just repainted the Death Star as the white lines were faded.
Well spotted, it turned out that the wire ball guide on the loop was slightly too low and made the ball fly off the playfield missing the switch on a fast shot but still triggered it when the ball just rolled round, it took ages to get it just the right shape!
tattyadams Mine seems to be doing the same thing (I can't get Speeder Mode, Free Balls, or C-3PO's eyes to light up either). You wouldn't happen to have pics/vid of what you fixed?
The last time I ever got a chance to play this incredible machine was back in 1998 when I was only 11. I haven't seen this around where I'm at now, and I know it won't be easy to find this. It took me over 12 shitty years just to find a Sega Saturn. lol
and now i have to realise that our pinball machine only has the balls each round :o but thats good for me :D so I just can be sure that I'm a really good player with the highest record in our club from ca. 264 millions :DD hmm I think it is beacause of the german version or because of an option I did not found out jet :D nice video :D
Maybe It's just me, but some of the sounds in this one get way to repetitive and got on my nerves very quickly, especially that sound when the ball goes up the steel guides from the back shooting back toward the front of the machine. Gorgeous artwork though! The r2d2 was cool :)
I agree, a lot of Data East games are like that. It sounds a lot better now as it has a pinsound board in it with the original film score. Have a look at my newer videos and you will see one using it, I would be interested to see what you think!
A very good youtube video and really nice game play (like a god of pinball lol !) I would like to buy a starwars pinball like this one ! Won't you want to sell me yours :P ? Maybe I hope finding this pinball in my country in france ... But really hard to find :( if you've got adresses or good prizes to share for this amazing pinball ... Thank I gonna watch your video again and again ;)
Probably the best pinball machine ever made.
From the 90s.
My uncle had this machine when I was a kid, the music is a COMPLETE blast to the past. Thank you so much for this upload

My absolute favourite pinball machine. I got Funhouse recently, but I'd kill to own this. :)

My favorite pinball machine. I would like to get this one available in Pinball Arcade.
This bring back memories

@headofjaguar Cool, thanks, I'm off to look. I love the start of multiball on SW!
My father got this for us when I was a kid haha. It always broke though but it was the coolest thing ever.
Favorite pinball machine ever. It also helps that I'm a major Star Wars fan as well. Am I the only one who prefers Data East machines over Bally, Williams, etc?

Great video. That R2D2 looks like he wants to break loose and tear up the place.
I played this machine back in my college days in between classes and during lunch breaks.
You got me there, I don't know sorry. I was talking to George Gomes at the ERA and he told me they used them for JM which surprised me as I have had the pin for years and was convinced they were mostly sound bites from the film!
Thank you, SW is a keeper, JP and Hook have moved on now!
1:32 Hmm, extra ball you have.
I like this game too! Ours is set-up on hard mode, but I feel it makes me better at it in genereal.

I remember seeing this one in a local kids indoor playground/arcade along with the Simpsons arcade cabinet
They had this in a holiday village in Cornwall - guess where all my holiday pocket money disappeared to…

I had this pinball machine in my house, about 14 years ago, my father then sold it for a few coins, it was in perfect condition ...
I got the exact same machine!!! "Extra ball you have"
The most interesting thing about this pinball is that the Force features (and the hidden rewards behind) are always changing each time. If you're lucky you might start with a Lite Special right away.
Other than that, I can see a LW3 and a Jurassic Park machine too... Nice collection you have :)
Shoot low (handle) when it says "death star approaching" :)
Did this table have the original cast do the voiceovers, or is it all stand-in actors?
(Bit hard to tell with the audio. Sounds like stand-ins.)
Hi, in the process of restoring mine, did you use LEDs?
Cheers.
"Hmm, extra ball you have."
Frikken awesome! I'm peanut butter and jealous.
WOW !!!! Great DMD animation. Thanks for this vid.
@mrdwonderfull Thank you, with the exception of G & R Data East's best game. Good luck with your restoration.
MMM, Extra ball you have.
How much can you get for this pinball? I have one i Norway that i am planning to sell.

My Max score was above 204 Million in the arcades. I remember how well aimed to lose the machine was.

@@tattyadams The machine I used to play in Highschool in the early 90's had the same problem.
