The best cure to be productive has been for me eliminating all sources that provide continuous stimulation such as social media, video games and TV. Allowing myself to get bored, really bored to the point what I found boring early became my only source of stimuli. Reading and working out became easy. My memory improved, became more happy and satisfied. I started to have plenty of time instead of struggling to find time for things.
In summary, allocate time to get bored. Your brain will physically change allow time to see change.
I will watch this later
I literally added this to "watch later" and will forget about it. It feels generic.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
dont watch later
watch immediately when you found this kind of videos
i just watch this after a year on my watch list
I can only watch videos that are less than 1:50 long.
5-10 minutes meditation ia juts like our 5 times daily prayer. It's the most effort full meditation. We have to focus 100% and at the same time make aware of our listening to the recitation during the prayer
Mashaallah brother it is true
definitely not true buddy keep your prayers separate from meditation, its completely different and if you don't understand that than this video is not for you
You won’t understand this video. Someone who doesn’t understand the fact that there is someone who created this brain and how our brain 🧠 works for us and against us. Until you find your creator you will keep chasing and you’ll never know the true meaning of yourself or anything you making sense of ir
Watching this as a Muslim grows my faith stronger.
The procrastination hack definitely worked with me in the past with language learning. Whenever I was tempted to procrastinate I switched to a harder language like Russian to change my perspective on what hard is.
Also helped me realise how much progress I’d made in my target language. 💯
Great idea, thank you, guess I'll start learning Russian
Go for it! The other language that worked for this too was Danish. 😄 - but Norwegian almost made me want to give up my native language (British English) I enjoyed it so much.
"The deadline makes you get it done."
True. A deadline can provide a sense of urgency that motivates you to start and complete tasks.
In other words if you’re feeling demotivated, FORCE YOURSELF to get up and do something!! What I do is listen to my body - if I feel demotivated it’s probably ‘cos I’m worn out due to insomnia or other stresses - and I just roll with it: I stay snug in bed and read; try to sleep; watch a nice relaxing film and guess what - next day I’m fine!
Yup! I start with the cold plunge in my pool which is the hardest 😢then I go for a run then clean the house, feels so good when you accomplish these things.
All my life was always a self starter. I never needed motivation to do anything, because I always got up an did it myself. Fast foward to 12years ago, i became very very tired, no energy, and desire to do a lot. There was something not right with my thyroid. I was never the same again.
Same here 😢
Imagine your boys gave you a new 50 page policy document to read, and you weren’t allowed to skim it. You’d think “aww man, so boring, I don’t wanna”.
Now imagine your boys told you to sit facing a blank wall and you weren’t allowed to look around. Just sit in silence looking at the wall. You’d think “give me that policy document now, I need something interesting to read!”.
Motivation is relative. That’s why it’s beneficial to have boring breaks, then when you get back to work you get straight into it. Yet so many people have stimulatory breaks, which means when they get back to work they’re de-motivated.
So powerful, efficient and useful as usual!
Thanks Andrew for sharing so much of yourself❤
Many, many years ago, I always started with the chore, academic or house, that was the worst to do. I told myself to always do the "worst first" and every activity afterwards seemed easier. This idea was before any psychological/emotional learning experiences. BTW I am 71.
Thankyou
These short talks have become part of my daily morning motivation
Thanks for the steeps for getting me out of my slump. I feel like a powerhouse just watching this video. I am making a promise to my self and you for healing my depression.
"the deadline makes you get it done"....works for me!
Thank you for your explanations
You are welcome!
I’m procrastinating by wanting to watch this instead of doing my homework
This is the video I needed today. Perfect timing
Glad we could help!
1. Cold shower. 2. Learn something that really hard 3. memorise. 4. Go for a run
If you can't do the thing you want to do, how can you then do something even harder? Doesn't make sense to me. If I could do that, I could also do the first thing... or am I missing something?
So this explains why I have no motivation, desire, etc. I have Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's patients lack dopamine. I take dopamine supplements which helps a little. Time to talk to my neurologist about increasing my meds.
I wonder what effect this exercise will have on a brain that doesn't produce any, or very little dopamine. I am willing to try this and see if it might create new neural pathways ❤❤
That is an interesting question. I hope this method works for you!
@@purepotentialityNow Thank you, I am not quite sure what you mean but I do meditate ,believe we all have a higher conciousness that we can access, I ascribe to the teachings of Buddha Tesla,Jung ,and the 12 immutable laws of the universe. I suffer from CPTSD and have Asperger's ADD and ADHD, hence my brain is faulty in the making of the dopamine, but I am 67 and just got my correct diagnosis and everything started making sense. I know that I receive energy updates quite often and I protect my pineal gland and my third eye.
If you can give me any observations, you can think of anything that might help, I am open!
Blessings and joy, we are all in this together!🙏❤
@@RespireOfficial Thank you, I will try and let you know! I have Asperger's ADD and ADHD along with CPTSD. I'm 67 and was just recently correctly diagnosed. When I was told my brain probably never made dopamine, it made so much sense I laughed and cried. I have been working on my brain for 30 years!!
I can't wait to try this!
Blessings and joy always!🙏❤
Waiting for it .
Thank you for watching the video live! Much appreciated.
meditation is easy for me, cold plunge, too, running, too, cleaning, too... Wouldn't know what's harder except of writing about that's even harder.
any suggestions?
burpees
@@mostrolopitecus you mean doing as many as possible and going over that? Will give that a try
Nice content, thank u
It's fascination that my procrastination will leave the nation after watching this presentation.
So besides meditation? What’s 4 other examples?
I was wondering this too. I meditate a fair amount so would like another example to understand it better.
it really depends on the person. for me personally, it would be taking a cold shower, or vacuuming my entire apartment, or doing laundry. something that you'd typically be really lazy to do. you could go out for a jog early in the morning or tackle that stack of papers you have on your desk for work. anything you would put off.
@@tempest17703 thank you for these suggestions. It is enlightening to what you were saying even more so.
1. Cold shower. 2. Learn something that really hard 3. memorise. 4. Go for a run
This is one video I need ❤to hear …
Doc, I like your new format. The visuals that are specific, such as the peaks and troughs is useful. I also enjoyed seeing the woman's face to whom you were referring, that was a nice tribute. The other generic pics and videos I'm sure is "good" in SM these days, although they don't really do anything for me. I would rather it simply cut back to seeing you talking.
Regardless, please don't stop showing us your face in a black shirt on a black background. It's become... Comforting.
Thank you for the feedback!
Sooooo, Im not motivated to do something, so I should force myself to do something else I don't want to do and that will make me want to do the other thing I don't want to do? Hmmmm.
its about discipline and resilience. forcing yourself to undergo more pain and pushing through makes you stronger overall. and the tiny dopamine rush you get after accomplishing something that was even harder than the original task itself? i'd say it's worth it.
i didn’t get it. can it be highlighted ?
I would appreciate if you provided a reference or link to the original Huberman Lab podcast for those who would like more context. It's difficult trying to figure out which of the many podcasts is the relevant one.
seems thit is some AI generated thNG!
it's this one: ua-cam.com/video/K-TW2Chpz4k/v-deo.html
One of his best episodes I guess, incredibly useful information.
How do i get past the stess .. it's like a block or fear.. it makes me procrastinate with what i need to do!
No specific suggestions were given to help get past procrastination. Just lots of taking about it 😮
That's what I thought too, video just a waste of time
You just didn't understand what he said. He clearly explained how to overcome procrastination, or at least one way to do it. Watch the video again and focus and you'll get it.
This cracked me up
Can a SAD lamp work ?
I've lived for so long
with an old endless loop
running in mind...
The limiting belief has been
that life is hell,
and I've only come to earth,
to suffer...
That I have nothing going for me.
I'm just suffering in misery,
waiting to die...
And then...
Something so cool!!!
I realized the enemy
is a fucking LIAR!
And I have so much going for me...
Like:
1) I am a registered counsellor
2) I have a brilliant mind
3) I know the darkest dark.
I am ready and willing,
able and capable,
to now step into the light!
4) In many ways,
my discernment is razor sharp
5) I have a beautiful connection to God and my own spirituality
6) Because the men in my life (and particularly the most recent man),
have been abusive cunts...
They have forced me to go inwards,
to refine myself, to strengthen myself,
to awaken the Lioness/Goddess/Queen that I AM
7) Because my life has been utter hell,
I know how to walk through the storm,
I know how to die a million deaths,
and to resurrect!
8) I see so very clearly, what others don't,
it's like I (almost-constantly) have a birds-eye view of things...
9) I understand now, and am continuing to learn,
about the true divine feminine and real divine masculine
10) I've had to constantly overcome.
MY STRENGTH IS INSANE.
11) I've gone through the fire,
I'm being refined, transformed, transmuted:
into gold. I am an alchemist. I am the dragon!
And guess what? 2024 is THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON!
Ahoy!!
Great video, English isn't my first language so sometimes I don't fully understand things. How would I feel motivated enough to do this thing, that is even harder than the thing I wasn't motivated to do in the first place?
Is he saying I need to do something even harder? That kind of doesn't make sense. What am I missing?
That's exactly it
Do something that hard on you physically or mentally or both..thats the 🗝
Wat een flauwekul …
Hey siri, remind me to watch this later.
😅😂🤣
the only thing I achieved watching this video is another 8:10 minutes of procrastination
are you affliated with Dr. ANDREW HUBERMAN?
You can never avoid procrastinating when you're a slave to a system all throughout your life
I just learned Trough is Trouff not Thru.
I wush you wpuld have come up with something differet from meditation. You make it hard and its noy ...uoi can watch your thoughts pass. With pracyice i could mediate 30 minurtes and felt great. I love your podcats ....❤😅
Bro, I have a very important question please replay🙏🙏
What's up?
So I was trying to start a UA-cam channel like your niche and also I was researching on channels as the same niche as you and how you was able to monetize your channel, I kind of figure it out, but I have one question I wonder why you started to cover the whole video with b-roll footages and it is better with both a-roll and b-roll, thank you and do you have any tips to start a UA-cam channel same niche like you 🙏 🙏@@RespireOfficial

Hello :)
I have to self motivate as a full time artist (create artist lifestyle Vlogs…Irene Torok Art same across my socials) and personally think having a schedule is most motivating. For me anyway. 😊
Video waste of time
I was in an am funk. After watching i went out for a 15 minute jog walk
Worked brilliantly
Now big question. Will i remember and repeat next time?
