Dalla dalla Yeji Icy- Chaeryeong Wannabe (btw I know wannabe isn't mentioned but both stood out to me)- Yeji and Chaeryeong Not shy -Chaeryeong and Yeji
Oh I am sorry, I thought you meant all members in Itzy. But you meant Main dancers, so Dalla Dalla -> Yeji Icy -> Chaeryeong Wannabe -> Yeji Not Shy -> Chaeryeong
It’s sorta like how u control your speed within the tempo. Like putting power into certain moves and being more gentle on others to create texture. It creates variety instead of making you look like a robot doing a set of moves.
Itzy has a lot of position versus idol thing I personally think Chaeryeong is a better dancer, but Yeji is a better idol dancer. The same with Ryujin and Yuna. Ryujin is a better dancer when comes to position, but Yuna, even if she doesn't have the same technique, her performance is more rich and fun to watch. Chaeryeong and Ryujin are better in their position but Yeji and Yuna have charisma and stage presence, which can be crucial when they are on stage
I agree and I can say that this is a popular opinion among the fandom since we share the same insights as well😊 This is not just applicable in Itzy, others groups share this situation too
Really? I think it's more like Yeji is the more noticed main dancer rather than people doesn't know chaeryeong is one. They're only 5 members, i think even mild fans knows their positions.
@@sanspurple5621 however outside the fandom, yeji is more known for her dancing bc shes almost always center during dance breaks whereas chaeryeong is almost always in the back so she doesnt shine as much, i would like to see both yeji and chaeryeong at the front bc that would be amazing
@@danielwaites3039 yea but that is called mismanged by the company. Yes, Chaeryeong is a better dancer in general than yeji but at the same time Chaeryeong gets praises for her dancing a lot in not shy era. Literally every dance video of not shy you go to it is mainly about Chaeryeong dancing which i like about because Chaeryeong is finally getting praises for her dancing and she is probably one of the best dancer in 4th gen (along with Chaeryeon). In not shy era Chaeryeong and lia got the most praises out of the group. And one more thing, knetz also like her visuals. 😊
@@danielwaites3039 yeji centers relatively more than chaeryeong because she has better facials and stage presence, it's not because of the company. They're pretty close in terms of skills, but yeji has better stage presence and facials on stage, so she gets more center time and center dance breaks, and also because she dances more powerfully whereas chaeryeong dances with more control. Chaeryeong is the better dancer but Yeji is the better idol dancer, and the better idol dancer would most likely center more.
my opinion may be wrong , Chaeryeong is a more fluently dancer she makes the dances look easy. Yeji on the other hand is a more power based dancer, some moves she uses so much power and sometimes over dances. So in my opinion both are great dancers but Chaeryoung is better in some moves so Chae 9.6/10 Yeji 9.5/10 both are on god level for me. :) *.*Remember just an opinion!*.*
@So What i think singing does have a huge part in it cause you yeji has quite a lot of lines and she has to use a lot of energy to make sure she sounds stable while dancing. But im no professional so my opinion shouldnt really Matter
I think Chaeryeong is INSANELY GOOD this comeback, she KILLED it. She literally became my bias, she's just too good. I feel she's feeling more confident and it shows and as she gets more and more confident, she will only get better. I think Yeji is already at her peak if not close to it, while we just haven't seen the best Chaeryeong can do.
I couldn't take my eyes off of Chaeryeong in Not Shy. She gave me hyo vibes in the chorus she nailed it so much! Her flow is so pleasing to watch. Yeji tended to look amateur on some parts, probably cause of inconsistent energy cause she puts a lot of power to make her moves sharp and clear. Dalla dalla is the complete opposite for me tho. Yeji shined in that era. I feel like Chaeryeong improved a lot comparing her debut and recent performances.
I don't think it's that she's improved, just that she's lessened up on holding herself back. You can still tell she does in group performances, but not as much as she used to. She's always going to have to do it to some degree to maintain the group synchronisation, considering the fact that if she went all out she'd singlehandedly outdance them all, but she's gaining more confidence and it's allowing her to shine. I've seen solo clips of her dancing before debut and she's INSANE, so imagine what she could do if JYP took advantage of her. Incredible.
I think Chaeryeong is holding herself back to not overshadow the other members bcs when u compare her dance before debuting, you can see the difference. But both are great dancers :)))
@@chedgatchalian8401 Yeah, but tbf Chaeyeon is the best dancer in the 4th Gen and she admitted herself than there some aspects of dance where her sister is better than she is. I'd say Chaeyeon and Chaeryeong (give her a year to get her confidence back and she'll be on the same level easily) are the best dancers of the Gen, but Yeji is the one of the best performers. I always end up watching Chaeryeong because, especially recently, I find her so fluid and charismatic, but nobody can deny that Yeji's facials and style are perfect for an idol. She's not too far off Chaeryeong technically, but I wouldn't say she's on the same level - her isolations and control, particularly of her hips and waist, aren't as good, and she sometimes overdances, but she is still so impressive. But in the matter of who people prefer, it depends bc they have such different styles. Incredible the both of them.
To put it simple: Chaeryeong is a better dancer in general, she has better technique and fluidity. Whereas Yeji is a born performer, her energy and vibe can make it seem as though she's a better dancer, but Chaeryeong is generally better.
I think technique wise is a tie. Like usually ahe is better in her chest movements and yeji in her legs, chae is more fluidity based and yeji more power based, chae sometimes underdance and yeji over dance. Chae has usually better angles and yeji better control. Saying yeji is just an idol dancer (as a lot of midzy says) while chae is a true dancer is quite rude and simply not true. I prefer watching yeji coz her facials are amazing but i understand that some people may prefer chae type of dancing more detailed oriented.
@@Bohbohboh_36373 im not tryina act up as the smart one, cus im not, but i will try to explain it, an idol dancer can still be an amazing dancer with great control and good body isolations and stuff, but a idol dancer is more power based, putting a lot of power in moves, but even more power facial expressions and stage presence , idol dancer can be great dancers, but they are more of an performer, meanwhile dance based dancer are more on fluidity and stuff, they have great body angels, great body isolations, good power control and more rhythm feeling, but that does not mean that they don't have good stage presence, but if you need an example, yuna is a great and clean dancer, but she is better with stage presence, meaning yuna and yeji are more of the perform dancer of the group, meanwhile ryujin has A LOT of body control and rhythm feeling along with a lot of other good dancer material, though she also has as good stage presence as yeji and yuna she is still counted as a dancing based dancer, since she isn't actually focusing on her facials and it comes naturally, so in conclusion Yuna and yeji perfom dancer(if that word exists lol) Chaeryeong and ryujin dancing based dancer That does not mean yeji is not main dancer worthy, it means she is better at performing
As a dancer ofc chaeryeong, she is just more exact and more precise, but idol wise yeji. Her stage presence is just much more than chaeryeong and she puts in more power intro her dance making it less accurate but more fun to watch. Also chaeryeong is focused on grace and elegant (it’s not focused but it looks more like that making it seem like she’s underdancing sometimes) while yeji like I said is power focused which makes her look like she’s overdancing sometimes
As a trained dancer. Che is a better dancer. She has a better thehnique and control over her body. It makes the dance look so easy but its actually so hard and its bc she has so much experience and has trained her body so much. Yeji on the other hand is a better performer. She has stage presence and facial expressions. She executs the moves more sharp than Che(im not saying its a bad thing or a good thing just saying what her dancing is like), while Che is more smooth. They are both amazing tho but have such different styles of dancing.
yeah i agree what a lot of other people say is that yeji is really well at learning and executing dances but chaeryoung is better at adding her own flavor and dance style to them
As a trained dancer, really? Then you maybe lack so many things in dance. Even trainees also are trained dancer. Many people can easily be a "trained dancer", just go learn some dance in any agency or dance school, even my little sister is a "trained dancer", doesn't mean she has skill to judge, right? She's just a trained dancer. Professional dancer, judges, and even professional trainer, and trainees, even the itzy members, mosttt of them say yeji is the best dancer in itzy, professional put/ranked yeji highest than Chaeryeong, almost all these people mentioning yeji first before chaeryeong, not you all using the cheapest trick trying hard to pushed Chaeryeong while discrediting yeji recognition. All i see that the ones who keep saying about how Chaeryeong is better than yeji mostly all from her fans, or some haters, and some amateur channels. No professional judge, no professional people in dancing, no professional trainers from jyp, not even jyp trainees and Itzy members saying Chaeryeong is better or the best among them. Mostly based on delusional and pushed by some fans. If you really considered skill and all, yeji definitely better. Her execution also better than Chaeryeong. The only Chaeryeong better than yeji is fluidity and yeji also best at it but mostly chaeryeong, and chaeryeong fluidity better only depends on dance type. Chaeryeong isn't excel in other dance genres, while yeji is excel in all dance genres. Better and the best should be choose based on all many aspects, not just based on 1 or 2 aspects. Yeji also better in handling multitask in dance performance.
@@hitemupstyle9991 first of all I don't see the reason why u are invaluating my training ...because I don't have the same opinion as you?! Even if I'm not a judge I can still give my opinion, and so can non dancers...it's just an opinion and you're not hurting anyone if you're respectful with it. Yeji is my bias in itzy but an opinion is an opinion at the end of the day and I was respectful with it too. I never invaluated yejis dancing abilities,I even said at the end that they are both amazing and have different styles. Again I fail to understand why kpop fans can't understand that it's just AN OPINION.
@@hitemupstyle9991 idk dude just read my hypothesis before you tell more... According to usual polls Chaeryoung is the least popular member along with lia while Yeji is one of the more popular members and yet when you ask any midzy who do you think is a better dancer... almost 90% of them vote for Chaeryoung. What i feel is that there are many Yeji biases in that 90% because Yeji's too good a dancer but all her dancing comes from her power so when she dances she's lit af.... but people want her to not get overworking so they want JYP to give the other main dancer break parts so that Chaeryoung who also can execute those steps with ease... maybe like a little bit less sharper than yeji but this way she gets to shine more often and yeji's burden is reduced a bit too. I mean you could consider Yeji like Jungkook...perfection and sharpness runs in their blood.
A lot of the time when a certain idol has a lot of stage presence people look at power instead of technique. Soyeon and Soojin or Minho and Hyujin are perfect examples. Soyeon and Hyunjin have crazy stage presence/power and makes it seem like they are better than Minho and Soojin but Minho and Soojin have way better techniques. Yeji and Chaeryeong are very close in technique but Yejis stage presence/power make it seems like she is a better dancer. I'm not that skilled in dancing but I watch a lot of other dancer rankings and chaeryeong and yejis technique are so close is hard to have a winner. In conclusion: Chaeryeong: Chaeryeong doesn't excel in idol dancing as far are facial expressions or charisma but is a better over all dancer. Yeji: Yeji is a good overall dancer but she seems to excel more on the idol dancing side. Like I said before, Soyeon has perfect facial expressions and movements that she tends to outshine soojin, in some cases, when it comes to dancing. At the end of the day Yeji and Chaeryeong are both probably some of the best all-rounders in kpop. They both play a big role on the group. Yeji bringing the fierceness out while Chaeryeong brings out the calm and elegant side of them. Dalla Dalla and Wannabe were dances that required power, which is what Yeji has. Icy and Not Shy havd more elegant moves which makes Chaeryeong shine more. So in conclusion Itzy are monster rookies. 😌
It's crazy enough that Chaeryeong already shines and makes people get attracted to her dance even when she doesn't get much center parts. How much more if they give her more center parts, especially the dance break center part? Damn. Just imagine. I can't waittt
i think yeji's the group's best performer, and chae is the best dancer. i guess it's a tie hehe, anyways i will never stop begging for chae's center dance break :)
Love both dancers so much. Chaeryoung has that movements that are so clean and beautiful, the same as her sister. Yeji is more powerfull. Both are stunning when they dance, amazing
@@stanmidzystancrazy5987 where? Have you seen her freestyle. Her rhythm is more than okay she just doesn't stand out more than yeji because yeji's dance is power based and she tends to overdance
@@phannypackxo8038 I dance since I was 3 that why I am saying this Chaeryoung is more a smooth and has more body controlled dancer but underdances sometimes just like a idol dancer Yeji has more a powerful and eye chatching dance but overdances just like most dancers including myself and my friends
Since chaeryoung have a great back alignment and her hip movements are just top notch, I think her dancing suites more on Sexy and Feminine choreos. While yeji have sharpness, and her body is really connected hence the way she executed the choreo, so I think fast phased and power based choreos are meant for her. Both are amazing on their own style tbh, but If I have to choose, I prefer Chaeryoung, she's just more versatile in my opinion.
I personally feel Yeji is the better dancer, she makes powerful cuts and transitions through the choreography, and her isolations are top notch she rarely underdances and her stage presence is present 24/7 through the performance she pays attention to the beats and where it needs power and isolation and always makes sure her expressions are there. Chaeryeong is also an excellent dancer but she frequently underdances and her stage presence meanders, it's only present when she's center during a song, she's more of a fluidity based dancer like Chungha. Both are top notch dancers and complement each other so well in the group. Both of them like any human being have stamina issues compared to the intensity of the dances, when yeji gets tired she put in impulses of power to compensate however compromising the accuracy of the move, on the contrary Chae slowly begins to underdance losing power but will not compromise the lines and accuracy.
@@madisonk5240 bruh that’s legit so stupid 😂😂 like chaeryoung is an amazing dancer and all but saying that she “doesn’t want to overshadow others” doesn’t make sense at all like why tf would she do that.??
I literally thought the same thing *Dalla Dalla-* Yejis sharpness prevailed *Icy-* Chaeryeong just seemed to go the choreo better *Wannabe-* both but Chaeryeongs angles were just chefs kiss and she seemed to do the other dances like the shoulder dance 2nd best after Ryujin *Not Shy-* both but Chae’s presence was through the roof while dancing this and she looked so happy So overall both are great and do something the other doesn’t. Either way both are amazing and i can’t wait for them to keep improving with one another😌
Chaeryeong needs a fluidity based dance break like taemin's "move" or Lisa's "take me" cover if you know what I mean . Imagine something like that in a bridge of a song
I feel like Yeji is meant to be in a more-like "Girl crush" types of choreography. Meanwhile Chaeryeong is meant for a more fresh and cute dancing, I mean after Not Shy I believe Chaeryeong can rock any concept tbh. In *MY OPINION* Chaeryeong has always been a better dancer, people who think Yeji is better are either biased ooor prefer sharpness is dancing better. Yeji's Stage presence is NO JOKE btw. Stan itzy :) Edit: Also, I feel like Chaeryeong can do WAAAY BETTER than that, since I've seen clips when she was younger and had the same technique as now ( Almost..) I really think she's trying not to overshadow her group. Like for Example MoMo overshadows Twice in dancing, Chaeyeon overshadows I*Zone, Lisa overshadows Blackpink in dancing. I think she's really nice for doing that.
I don’t Chaeryong is trying to hold back or trying not to overshadow her members. It’s not really a good thing if she does(I don’t think she does though) doing things half assed is an insult not only to the fandom, but most especially to the members who gives their all 100%. I think everyone in itzy tries their best.
I dont think chaeryong trying to holding back her talent . Its just other member like yuna , ryujin and yeji are great at dancing . Their skill Not far away from chaeryong . Chaeryoung : 95 Yeji : 92,5 Ryujin : 91 Yuna : 89
Lisa is holding back herself tho, its just because they are only four thats why shes shining but u can see on the dance performance of hylt many people notice rosé which lisa got hated “not deserve the main dancer position thingy” but when pretty savage came lisa didnt hold herselfback in that 1st performance proving that she deserve, anyways lets back to the topic, chaeryoung is more born to be dancer, while yeji is born to be performer.
Thing is in other groups you will see other members shining in different factors like momo is best at dancing but at singing its jihyo nayeon others and same for lisa and chaeyeon. But in itzy all are really great dancers the only member people do point at is lia coz her factor is singing not dancing. So we can't say that chae is holding back. She's a great dancer but they all are power-packed performers without a doubt
I think that Chaeryeong is better in the creation of textures and fluidity while Yeji is more sharper with better facials expressions but They're very good dancers 💜
i find chaeryeong and yeji have the same dilemma as minho and hyunjin from stray kids, chae and minho are better dancers in general, they have better techniques and overall consistency and versatility whilst yeji and hyunjin (hwang siblings indeed lol) are better performers in terms of having strong facial expressions and charisma on stage, theyre also more powerful in dancing which can come off as being the "better dancer" when u first look at them. theyre all so great tho jype really does have the best dancers!!
This is reallyyy interesting, things I would’ve never realized if you hadn’t pointed out. I really appreciate how much effort must’ve gone into watching the fancams hundreds of times, looking for the smallest details. I really love your channel so I’ll look forward for your next videos too :)
Both are amazing dancers but for me i love yeji's dance a little more, she is so powerful and the fact that her voice is Stable in Live performances Makes me think that she's more experienced
About ICY: Look at their outfit. Yeji was dancing in high heels and shorts that looks pretty uncomfortable (at least to me, they look too short) and Chaeryeong was in more comfortable outfit than Yeji Maybe that's the reason why Yeji is doing some moves worse. Even walking with high heels is harder than in normal shoes lmao
excuses after excuses y'all can go watch other icy performances while they both have flat shoes on and YOU'LL see that chae dances wayy better than yeji, yeji is a GOOD performer not saying she can't dance but compared to chae no
Dalla Dalla- I prefer Yeji. She's more fierce and her moves are well executed. She became my bias here because her dancing skills amaze me. Icy- Both of them but I actually prefer Yeji's fake death drop here 5:15 because it's so smooth as if she's really falling but didn't. I always like Yeji's at that part in every icy performance. Not Shy- Both of them. Yeji executed the steps more precise. Chaeryoung moves fluidly but her angles are not that good but then I really like Chaeryoung's in this part 9:37
Please dont @ me and please filly understand what im gonna say. Chaeryeong really is a great dancer. Im not gonna say if she's better than Yeji bcs thats just gonna cause some wars, but im gonna explain something that not alot of people pointed out. If any of you watched Itzy's confession video, Chaeryeong pointed out that she tries her best to not stand out in Itzy, hence why she covers herself up using the members or stays in the side during photos. With what Chaeryeong said, its probably the same as her performance. People complement Yeji for her Amazing Stage presence, and i dont blame her, but can people realize what if Chaeryeong started showing her true potential? I mean, she already popped off in Not Shy, what more if she got so much confidence that in the next comeback, she was able to stand out more than before. Compare Itzy's first Dalla Dalla stage to any of their Not shy performance. Chaeryeong really shined so much this era,and if you look into Icy and Wannabe performances too, she shines as the months go by. People still doubt Chaeryeong as the best dancer, and i dont blame them because clearly JYP isnt promoting Chaeryeong as Itzy's 2nd main dancer. If JYP just gave Chaeryeong a little push, people will start to acknowledge Chaeryeong's dance skills. See, confidence plays a huge roll in everyone's performance. Whether being an idol performing on stage, or just being a normal student presenting a little presentation, Confidence plays a role in everything. If chaeryeong had more confidence than she currently has, she will start having a better perfomance compared to now. Have a great day people
Personally I prefer Yeji's dance style over Chae's they're both amazing but my eyes are always drawn to Yeji because she puts a lot of power in her dances. I noticed that she tens to open her legs more when stepping, or when bending her knees, can it be because she's tall and its a way to make the dance look good as a whole? I think Yuna also does this
for me i think Chaeryeong is a better dancer because she looks relaxed while dancing and does the moves with a remarkable fluidity, while Yeji is a powerful dancer and her moves are sharp. so when i try to learn Itzy’s choreos it’s easier for me to learn from Chaeryeong then Yeji. and this is just my opinion 😅
7:13 From here, you are missing something on Chaeryeong. Look at her musicality. Since the song is unaccented, she doesn't accent her chest while yeji add extra force and before Lia's part, she head timing what in synk with the note and she also used shoulder lock in beat 1(7:14). This shows her unique dynamics and her developed sense of Musicality.
I'm seeing a lot of comments about how Yeji 'over dances.' Sis, where? Most of Yeji's moves are powerful and they go with her fierce looks, adding to her girl crush vibe. There's a difference between powerful moves and over-dancing. (not a dancer, just my opinion) Overall, Chaeryeong's the better dancer but Yeji's the better performer.
Everyone saying "this member *clearly* has better dancing technique", didn't seem to have watched the video. They're both great dancers, just with different techniques. There are moves where Yeji did better, there are moves where Chaeryeong did better. With their level of skill I think it's just preference when you pick which you think is a better dancer.
This is like the question that has people debating these days. They are both so good, but so different. It really comes down to preference, in my case it's Yeji. In general Chae is more fluid and accurate, Yeji is more powerful and energetic, flexible. Chae has incredible control over her torso, especially in not shy, while Yeji is better with her limbs imo. The thing that really makes me prefer Yeji though, is her facials. I find Chae's often very bland or forced, while Yeji just naturally flows with them. Also, I feel more connected to Yeji when she dances, because she seems to have more confidence and fun. They will definitely set the tone in 4th gen when it comes to dancing. What makes comparing dancers during performances really hard though is that there are many other things to be considered than just their dancing skill. For example, often (especially with GGs) some outfits (especially shoes) should not be worn when dancing, which can of course make someone's dance look better or worse. Another thing, that for example applies in this video's Icy and Dalla Dalla example, is the different amount of lines. Yeji has more and also harder lines that Chae, which obviously impacts her dancing. In general however, Chae's singing is a bit more stable in my opinion. Anyway I really liked the video and it teaches me to look for very minor things when improving in dancing. 😊 Btw 8:32 really had me laughing :D
Yava anyways let just pray that Chaeryeong will realise how pretty she is and will gain alot of Confidence so that she can show her 100% STAGE PRESENCE and shut those haters.
I believe Chaeryoung has overall better control and fluidity. So whenever she dance it looks a lot easier compare to when Yeji does it. Chae is very slightly a better dancer overall. Yeji however is more charismatic and aggressive. Imo I prefer Yeji cuz her stage presence makes her fancam one of the best and very fun to watch.
Yeji is sharper and always catches my eye. She brings the song alive. I prefer stronger and powerful moves with fierce facials, YEJI!!! however chae is still an amazing dancer and both deserve the title of main dancers!
coming from a dancer who’s on a kpop dance team as well as teaches kpop at a studio i prefer watching chae over yeji. just the way she dances everything is so clean and clear, you can tell she adds a little something to the moves when u compare to yeji or the other members. yeji is a close second for me tho
I’ve always thought that yeji is better as a dancer and as a performer just because she has that something that I can’t really explain (apart from her power, stage presence, sharpness and facial expression) but that chae doesn’t and not everyone has, she is very unique with the way that she dances and I can’t seem to find that in chae BUT in not shy I think that chae stood out a lot and got better (even more lol) maybe she just needs more confidence. P.S I’m not saying that chae isn’t a good dancer bc omg she is, I just prefer yeji’s dance over all
both of them are good but for me i'll pick yeji maybe because of her undeniable charisma and stage presence! she's so satisfying to watch the facial expression is on point uhmmm also i'm a sucker for a girl idol who have that "girl crush" kinda vibe and not just dancing/singing but like born to be an idol/great performers (like seulgi, lisa and sana) SO MAYBE THAT'S WHY YEJI IS MY PICK
4:50 But when Chae was singing her verse, she was better, and this video is about dancing and not singing (Maybe you should've used the dance practice?) Keep going with your amazing videos !!
Maybe you could make a video where you explain some of the skills that you mention in your videos with idol examples. Meaning you could explain a bit what good and bad angles are or what dynamics are with idol fancams as examples. I mean it's only I suggestion but I'd really love if you could do that. Anyways I love your channel and your videos!!!! 💕
I prefer chaeryeong. Her dancing is just so smooth it's so pleasing to the eye. She might lack facial expression but her dancing is very expressive and very her if you ask me. So she already has enough 'presence' through that
I PERSONALLY PREFER WATCHING *CHAERYEONG* , THE WAY SHE CONTROLS HER (Amazingly beautiful) BODY IS SO LOVELY. SHE JUST HAS SOMETHING THAT THE OTHERS DON'T. *Just my opinion*.
I really like how you put them side by side and your comments on the side in "Not Shy". It's good to see both of their dances. (I always rewind it in the "Dalla Dalla" and "Icy" part. ㅠㅠ) And I REALLY REALLY LIKE how you zoom in the parts where they differ (It really emphasizes such different style and I can easily notice your comments like that "death-drop" part in "Icy" and the "torso" part in "Not Shy") for a wannabe dancer like me, it's really fun to watch this kinds of videos. i feel like your teaching me on how to do it better. love lotsssss
*People:* Praising the member with a dance position. _Yeji is a better idol dancer._ _Chae is a better overall dancer._ _Ryujin is queen of popping._ _Yuna has the best stage presence._ Lia: Okay I'll just sing then. 🤣 I love LIA
Chaeryeong is a better dancer, she draws my attention with her dancing every time where Yeji screams idol dancing to me. Someone that has spent years training and working on their dancing where Chaeryeong comes natural to her dancing.
5:21 we have really different eyes (and preference) 😂 i think yeji executed it better. Ik that chaer did a better foot landing but yeji has better overall coordination and her back was fully arched. (Also her arms movements tho) I also in general prefer yeji as an overall dancer rather than just an idol dancer. She has very consistent executions. Even when she's tired and her energy is decreased; her isolations, angles, and projections are still very controlled. Did i also mention that she also has godly body control? She almost never have awkward angles and always looks like she's executing moves in ease. I do think yeji main strengths are her connected moves and isolation while chaer main strengths are her dynamics and torso control. I prioritize isolations that's why i prefer yeji style of dancing over chaer (I also love soojin gidle so much they're both have godly body control and isolation). But I'm no professional, I'm in no way at their level. I looked up to both of them and never choose which one is the best dancer. I may prefer yeji and other people can have different opinions. But I'm pretty sick of people trying to convince others which one is the best dancer and stating their opinion as if it's a fact. It all truly comes down to preferences so don't be so owned up by your opinion :)
Yes girl, people should stop saying "yeji is a better idol dancer but chae's technique is better" then why is yeji the main dancer too? They're both the best dancers in itzy, chae is not better than yeji
@@sanspurple5621 I don't wanna be rude but the only reason JYP gave Yeji the main dancer spot was because she's a GREAT performer and can draw attention
@@ediiixy that's clearly not true, yeji is an amazing dancer, she's at the same level of chae, so sad that you just can't acept that cause she's more popular..
i dont think thats really the point of this type of videos! i think that format is to compare 2 dancers that seem equally good in dancing but like we can see a gap between rose's and lisa's dancing skills.. idk if you know what i mean also no offense Rose is still really good
You have to admit that Yeji is the queen of Dalla Dalla era and she hypnotize us with her dance and her MALIJIMAAA, by the way I think that Yeji has a very good technique too.
I personally love dancing, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with kpop 10 years ago (even though I don't dance professionally myself, I just enjoy watching and analyzing my favorite groups) and that's why i looove this channel, where my thoughts can be explained professionally, and showing more details that I don't even notice. It's just sooo interesting for me to watch. honestly, I would love to be taught to dance by the admin of this channel, 'cause she's great at explaining 💖 hope one day we can see you as well~~~
I would like to see one of these groups - Dreamcatcher: SuA vs JiU - Gfriend: SinB vs Yuju - IZ*ONE: Chaeyeon vs Eunbi And I have an idea for a section, Its to compare the 2 worst dancers of the groups, and define who's better, as an example: - Dreamcatcher: Siyeon vs Gahyeon - Gfriend: Eunha vs Sowon - Everglow: Aisha vs Sihyeon Hope you see this comment and Read :)
Yeji's stamina though, it must have been hard to dance those songs with full-blown energy but the con there is her energy deteriorates at the end. Unlike Chae's controlled energy, even with not having the same stamina as Yeji does have, her energy does not deteriorate at the end due to her balanced use of energy. Both with different techniques but I'm still really sad on Chae's dancing being underrated just because she's a grace-based dancer not energy-based and she isn't promoted more, many people tend to forget that she's also a main dancer :((
yay thank you for this! i've been wanting to watch from another dancer's perspective of them; i'm also a dancer myself hehe. i find it really interesting hehe
me personally i say they both are on the same level, yeji is not only a performer but and dancer that has had less practice then chaer, and chaer is a dancer who is not only just a dancer but a performer. they're both good and balance the group right :)
bruh i really gotta learn more about these dances terms. "Shes underdancing in her feet" i was so confused we couldnt see her feet and i didnt know that move required anything special from your feet
As someone who doesn't know much about dance and is only a casual listener of itzy, after watching this video I think Yeji is a better dancer. Their technique is on a similar level and while there are things Chaeryeong does better, Yeji has that edge because she is a better performer and I think thats also a very important aspect people tend to overlook (same reason I think Jihyo is a better dancer than Sana). For me Chaeryeong is good, even god tier, but she doesn't pull me in with her dancing the same way Yeji does, especially since they're similar in technique. I think Itzy stans are almost afraid to say Yeji is a better dancer. But that's just my opinion, feel free to disagree :)
I love them together, they really compliment each other's strengths and weaknesses. I think that's why JYP chose them both as Main Dancer. If they could practice more and acquire each other's strengths they could be you know who.
Who do you think is the best dancer in Dalla Dalla, Icy and Not Shy?
Dalla dalla yeji
Icy chae
Not shy chae
But i prefer yeji
Dalla dalla Yeji
Icy- Chaeryeong
Wannabe (btw I know wannabe isn't mentioned but both stood out to me)- Yeji and Chaeryeong
Not shy -Chaeryeong and Yeji
Dalla Dalla Chaeryeong
Icy Both
Not Shy Chaeryeong
Yes Chaer is my bias but she’s actually just really good and she stands out
Dalla Dalla -> Yeji
Icy -> Chaeryeong
Wannabe -> Ryujin
Not shy -> Yuna
Oh I am sorry, I thought you meant all members in Itzy. But you meant Main dancers, so
Dalla Dalla -> Yeji
Icy -> Chaeryeong
Wannabe -> Yeji
Not Shy -> Chaeryeong
me, not knowing anything about dancing: hmm yes, dynamics
what a mood lmaoo
It’s sorta like how u control your speed within the tempo. Like putting power into certain moves and being more gentle on others to create texture. It creates variety instead of making you look like a robot doing a set of moves.
same hahaaha
Joao Faria thank you so much for saying this, because I’m always confused about what that means!
Trueee
Im sorry but the winner for this is Their Hair. Unfairly their Hair is more talented than me
I agree. LOL
What a mood xD
Yass sorry guys but the hair won
Itzy has a lot of position versus idol thing
I personally think Chaeryeong is a better dancer, but Yeji is a better idol dancer.
Your comment screams Fact
@Elksie i didn't copied??? That's actually pretty popular in the fandom
@Elksie it is a very unpopular opinion in the fandom

I agree and I can say that this is a popular opinion among the fandom since we share the same insights as well😊 This is not just applicable in Itzy, others groups share this situation too
the thing about chaeryeong is that jyp didn't promote her as a main dancer of the group. Many people doesnt know that she is a main dancer in itzy.
As she is my bias it’s so sad actually
Really? I think it's more like Yeji is the more noticed main dancer rather than people doesn't know chaeryeong is one. They're only 5 members, i think even mild fans knows their positions.
@@silverdiangelo8117 Yeah I agree! I think most people don't know that she's the main dancer as well.
Exactly and thats sad
she still stands out as the main dancer tho. thats how she became my bias (was initially yeji biased). chaeryeong stands out a lot in her dancing
chaeryeong is such an underrated dancer and i partially blame jype for that
I don't think she's underrated, a lot of midzys praise chae for her dance
Stan Midzy Stan Crazy yeah lia and chaeryeong really stood out this era
@@danielwaites3039 yeji centers relatively more than chaeryeong because she has better facials and stage presence, it's not because of the company. They're pretty close in terms of skills, but yeji has better stage presence and facials on stage, so she gets more center time and center dance breaks, and also because she dances more powerfully whereas chaeryeong dances with more control. Chaeryeong is the better dancer but Yeji is the better idol dancer, and the better idol dancer would most likely center more.

Chaeryeong:dancer
Yeji:performer
my opinion may be wrong , Chaeryeong is a more fluently dancer she makes the dances look easy. Yeji on the other hand is a more power based dancer, some moves she uses so much power and sometimes over dances. So in my opinion both are great dancers but Chaeryoung is better in some moves so Chae 9.6/10 Yeji 9.5/10 both are on god level for me. :) *.*Remember just an opinion!*.*
totally agree
Agree chae has better technique in my opinion
Dalla dalla type choreography is for Yeji and Not Shy type dance is for Chae
AGREE 1000%
Tasmia Hrizu
yeah the fluidity is crazy in Not Shy and chae executes the moves very fluidly!❤️
so basically
Chaer: based on fluidity dancing.
Yeji: based on sharp and powerful dancing.
@So What i think singing does have a huge part in it cause you yeji has quite a lot of lines and she has to use a lot of energy to make sure she sounds stable while dancing. But im no professional so my opinion shouldnt really Matter
chaeryeong is the better technical dancer, and yeji is the better idol dancer. one has the best technique, the other has the best facials.
idol dancing is a lot more than performing id say yeji is better performer while chae is better overall dancer both are amazing
I think Chaeryeong is INSANELY GOOD this comeback, she KILLED it. She literally became my bias, she's just too good. I feel she's feeling more confident and it shows and as she gets more and more confident, she will only get better. I think Yeji is already at her peak if not close to it, while we just haven't seen the best Chaeryeong can do.
chaeryeong is also my bias she soooo pretty
That what I was saying because her and her sister dancing together was something
You should also watch Yeji predebut dance clips example like the times when she cover Jessi song at her school
@@izzymarie5 Yeji danced with Chaeryeong's sis and they both snapped so i don't agree Yeji's too far from Chae, either they're equal or yeah
@@chedgatchalian8401 what?
To put it simple:
Chaeryeong is a better dancer in general, she has better technique and fluidity.
@@Bohbohboh_36373 idol dancer is not an insult bro
@@Bohbohboh_36373 I get where you're coming from- but I don't think you exactly get what an idol dancer is...
@@Bohbohboh_36373 im not tryina act up as the smart one, cus im not, but i will try to explain it, an idol dancer can still be an amazing dancer with great control and good body isolations and stuff, but a idol dancer is more power based, putting a lot of power in moves, but even more power facial expressions and stage presence , idol dancer can be great dancers, but they are more of an performer, meanwhile dance based dancer are more on fluidity and stuff, they have great body angels, great body isolations, good power control and more rhythm feeling, but that does not mean that they don't have good stage presence, but if you need an example, yuna is a great and clean dancer, but she is better with stage presence, meaning yuna and yeji are more of the perform dancer of the group, meanwhile ryujin has A LOT of body control and rhythm feeling along with a lot of other good dancer material, though she also has as good stage presence as yeji and yuna she is still counted as a dancing based dancer, since she isn't actually focusing on her facials and it comes naturally, so in conclusion
Yuna and yeji perfom dancer(if that word exists lol)
Chaeryeong and ryujin dancing based dancer
That does not mean yeji is not main dancer worthy, it means she is better at performing
@@Bohbohboh_36373 hope i could help
In conclusion:
Chaeryeong: Chaeryeong doesn't excel in idol dancing as far are facial expressions or charisma but is a better over all dancer.

Yeji has more a powerful and eye chatching dance but overdances just like most dancers including myself and my friends

Stan itzy :)
Edit: Also, I feel like Chaeryeong can do WAAAY BETTER than that, since I've seen clips when she was younger and had the same technique as now ( Almost..) I really think she's trying not to overshadow her group.
Chaeryoung : 95
Yeji : 92,5
Ryujin : 91
Yuna : 89
I think that Chaeryeong is better in the creation of textures and fluidity while Yeji is more sharper with better facials expressions but They're very good dancers 💜
honestly i think that both are really good but i prefer watching yeji. probably because she has more energy and also her facials are always on point

i find chaeryeong and yeji have the same dilemma as minho and hyunjin from stray kids, chae and minho are better dancers in general, they have better techniques and overall consistency and versatility whilst yeji and hyunjin (hwang siblings indeed lol) are better performers in terms of having strong facial expressions and charisma on stage, theyre also more powerful in dancing which can come off as being the "better dancer" when u first look at them. theyre all so great tho jype really does have the best dancers!!

About ICY: Look at their outfit. Yeji was dancing in high heels and shorts that looks pretty uncomfortable (at least to me, they look too short) and Chaeryeong was in more comfortable outfit than Yeji Maybe that's the reason why Yeji is doing some moves worse. Even walking with high heels is harder than in normal shoes lmao
and yeji sings most of the song, she obviously tends to run out of air more

Have a great day people
Yeji is not only a great performance she also is a great, perfect dancer
Personally I prefer Yeji's dance style over Chae's they're both amazing but my eyes are always drawn to Yeji because she puts a lot of power in her dances. I noticed that she tens to open her legs more when stepping, or when bending her knees, can it be because she's tall and its a way to make the dance look good as a whole? I think Yuna also does this
I just really love how Chaeryoung dance with ease idk and her hair...
I don’t even know cuz both are AMAZING DANCERS PERIODT
Stan itzy to see REAL TALENT
for me i think Chaeryeong is a better dancer because she looks relaxed while dancing and does the moves with a remarkable fluidity, while Yeji is a powerful dancer and her moves are sharp. so when i try to learn Itzy’s choreos it’s easier for me to learn from Chaeryeong then Yeji. and this is just my opinion 😅
I'm seeing a lot of comments about how Yeji 'over dances.'
Sis, where? Most of Yeji's moves are powerful and they go with her fierce looks, adding to her girl crush vibe. There's a difference between powerful moves and over-dancing.
(not a dancer, just my opinion)
Overall, Chaeryeong's the better dancer but Yeji's the better performer.
YESS
Chaeryeong is my bias so I'd always love her dancing
Btw 8:32 really had me laughing :D
Welcome to the club where we prefer Yeji
@@jm-jq4qu thanks 😂
Yava anyways let just pray that Chaeryeong will realise how pretty she is and will gain alot of Confidence so that she can show her 100% STAGE PRESENCE and shut those haters.
@@lestonesricherob.2439 RIGHT they're next comeback IS gonna be her era and i can feel IT
Yeah the angles one was funny
I believe Chaeryoung has overall better control and fluidity. So whenever she dance it looks a lot easier compare to when Yeji does it. Chae is very slightly a better dancer overall. Yeji however is more charismatic and aggressive. Imo I prefer Yeji cuz her stage presence makes her fancam one of the best and very fun to watch.
When you asked if those were angles in Not Shy I couldn't stop laughing idk why
Yeji is sharper and always catches my eye. She brings the song alive. I prefer stronger and powerful moves with fierce facials, YEJI!!! however chae is still an amazing dancer and both deserve the title of main dancers!
lets be honest---we can't even come close to either of them
Could you also do one for IZ*ONE's Chaeyeon and Eunbi? Nice vid as always though
You do know chaeyeon WOULD destroy eunbi❤
it's already obvious thou
@@ediiixy yes but it would be interesting to see if there are any times where Eunbi's dancing is on par with Chaeyeon's
Chaeyeon takes over
the fact that yeji had less training time and is a dancing monster says a lot, i love her
Yeji 100%, she caught my attention bc of her dancing lmao
they both deserve their main dancer position and that’s that
i really like yeji's face expressions besides her dancing
I liked Chaer dance more...specially in Not Shy
i’m sorry but yeji >>>>
coming from a dancer who’s on a kpop dance team as well as teaches kpop at a studio i prefer watching chae over yeji. just the way she dances everything is so clean and clear, you can tell she adds a little something to the moves when u compare to yeji or the other members. yeji is a close second for me tho
You forget to mention in Icy Yeji was dancing in high heels you have got to give her credit plus Yeji has more lines so she needs to use more energy
So she already has enough 'presence' through that
They both deserved the main dancer role
I PERSONALLY PREFER WATCHING *CHAERYEONG* , THE WAY SHE CONTROLS HER (Amazingly beautiful) BODY IS SO LOVELY. SHE JUST HAS SOMETHING THAT THE OTHERS DON'T. *Just my opinion*.
I really like how you put them side by side and your comments on the side in "Not Shy". It's good to see both of their dances. (I always rewind it in the "Dalla Dalla" and "Icy" part. ㅠㅠ) And I REALLY REALLY LIKE how you zoom in the parts where they differ (It really emphasizes such different style and I can easily notice your comments like that "death-drop" part in "Icy" and the "torso" part in "Not Shy")
for a wannabe dancer like me, it's really fun to watch this kinds of videos. i feel like your teaching me on how to do it better. love lotsssss
*People:* Praising the member with a dance position.
_Yeji is a better idol dancer._
_Chae is a better overall dancer._
_Ryujin is queen of popping._
_Yuna has the best stage presence._
Lia: Okay I'll just sing then. 🤣
I love LIA
LMAO SAME-
Chaeryeong: Best dancer
Yeji: Best idol dancer
I think they are both really good but I like Yeji's dancing style more
Chaeryeong is a better dancer, she draws my attention with her dancing every time where Yeji screams idol dancing to me. Someone that has spent years training and working on their dancing where Chaeryeong comes natural to her dancing.
8:45 Yeji projects better? When in fact Chaeryeong did the real choreography (lying on the floor)
Chaeryeong improves every comeback
agree
5:21 we have really different eyes (and preference) 😂 i think yeji executed it better. Ik that chaer did a better foot landing but yeji has better overall coordination and her back was fully arched. (Also her arms movements tho)
I also in general prefer yeji as an overall dancer rather than just an idol dancer.
Lets be honest
Maybe yeji is main dancer in itzy
But as a reveluv
CHAE IS THE BEST DANCER IN KOREA
This replys section doesn't receive my point huh?
totally agree
can you do Lisa and Rose
since Ice Cream is coming
BLINKS STREAM PROPERLY FOR HOW HARD OUR QUEENS ARE WORKING FOR THIS
i dont think thats really the point of this type of videos! i think that format is to compare 2 dancers that seem equally good in dancing but like we can see a gap between rose's and lisa's dancing skills.. idk if you know what i mean
also no offense Rose is still really good
@@dandinouche6203 yes
i don't think they do blackpink anymore due to the toxic blonks sending hate
Chaeryeong not being able to connect the pelvis move is not her fault, lia moved much too back
Best my opinion Yeji
You have to admit that Yeji is the queen of Dalla Dalla era and she hypnotize us with her dance and her MALIJIMAAA, by the way I think that Yeji has a
very good technique too.
And chaeryeong is the queen of icy and not shy
I personally love dancing, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with kpop 10 years ago
(even though I don't dance professionally myself, I just enjoy watching and analyzing my favorite groups) and that's why i looove this channel,
where my thoughts can be explained professionally, and showing more details that I don't even notice.
It's just sooo interesting for me to watch.
honestly, I would love to be taught to dance by the admin of this channel, 'cause she's great at explaining 💖
hope one day we can see you as well~~~

I would like to see one of these groups
- Dreamcatcher: SuA vs JiU
- Gfriend: SinB vs Yuju
- IZ*ONE: Chaeyeon vs Eunbi
And I have an idea for a section, Its to compare the 2 worst dancers of the groups, and define who's better, as an example:
- Dreamcatcher: Siyeon vs Gahyeon
- Gfriend: Eunha vs Sowon
- Everglow: Aisha vs Sihyeon
Hope you see this comment and Read :)
*both but sometimes yeji overdances and chaeryoung underdances. chaeryoung is more of my style. i choose chaeryoung.*
me personally i say they both are on the same level, yeji is not only a performer but and dancer that has had less practice then chaer, and chaer is a dancer who is not only just a dancer but a performer. they're both good and balance the group right :)
theyre both so good EVERY TIME I LOOK AT THEIR SHOES I GET NERVOUS THEYRE AMAZING
I hope chaeryong gets the spotlight she deserves. Thank you for this review!
chaeryeong*
same
Dalla Dalla: Yeji
Icy: Chaeryeong
Not shy: both
Hard to choose, but I prefer Chae
bruh i really gotta learn more about these dances terms. "Shes underdancing in her feet" i was so confused we couldnt see her feet and i didnt know that move required anything special from your feet
Yeji has the power while Chae has the technique. I personally feel Chae is the better dancer out of the two but Yeji is more fun to watch !
I think Yeji is a better dancer, isn’t Itzy themselves admit that in a show?
For those who prefer Chaeryeong dance
You have perfect Eyes and Opinion 😁
But that's just my opinion, feel free to disagree :)
tlovest
I disagree :)
The reason why Chaeryeong doesn’t pull you is because Yeji has better STAGE PRESENCE😌 that’s all.
@@lestonesricherob.2439 LOUDER 👏👏
I think Chaeryeong is better for me because stage presence doesn't mean they are better dancer but the control and technique😊
@J M they only focuse in the most popular member lol.
@J M their ranking is wrong too! Like what? Momo is better than Hyoyeon? Hell no.
I love them together, they really compliment each other's strengths and weaknesses. I think that's why JYP chose them both as Main Dancer. If they could practice more and acquire each other's strengths they could be you know who.
