- Join me to work through an unexpected breakdown of the woodmizer sawmill.
Welcome to our channel, Thanks for watching! We're a small sawmill and wood products business in Eastern Pennsylvania. Join me for videos on all things wood from the forest to the final product. We'll cover a wide range of topics about lumber and woodworking, machinery and heavy equipment, and even our family's Christmas tree farm.

I've been running same the same saw as yours for 24 years. It's at the point now where I saw for two days then work on the saw for one day. The nice thing is that after 24 years, when something breaks you know what the problem is and how to fix it. This afternoon I will take apart the control box and will likely find a worn out switch. Gotta' love it!
Yes you get very good at fixing things after you do it a few times!
Good morning sir. What an awful way to start your week. Thank goodness you are mechanically inclined! Obviously the good spin on the day was lunch with your son, even if it was in the cafeteria lol. Thank you for putting out the videos you do. So many channels show the good and never the bad and that makes little operators like myself feel pretty inadequate some days when it seems everything goes wrong. Hope the rest of the week is smooth sailing. Have a great day.
Oh keep watching, you’ll see I’ve been getting pretty beat up lately. I try to balance it, I want to show both sides the good and bad.
Great video. I think with that glitch I would not park my head over a cant again. 😁
I’ve been a little more careful
Great Job Cory.... We've all been there, it's great to show that the business isn't all just sunshine and rainbows... Btw great call not getting the torches out....
Haha yeah I was afraid that would have went in a real bad direction.
nice save! good job
Thanks!
Sounds like a win in my book!
Way to go! Dancing like Fred Astaire! Good luck in the morning!
It was a positive day. You just proved it!!!
It ended that way but it was a hard road to get there!
Ouch but luckily it didn't require dollars to fix!
Yes that’s a win!
Man, I hear your pain! Just went through my whole mill and am tired or wrenching and ready to make some sawdust
Yeah, it’s hard enough work when everything is working right!
Been down that road , good luck Tuesday .
Thanks!
hi there well i dont have a band mill , but i feel your pain , best of luck in the repairs john
Thanks!
sorry to see this happen. I've done it once and my mill is not all manual. human error. i got lucky and nothing was bent but my pride.. I did order and replace the guide wheels..
Whatever it takes to keep going!
Sounds like another day at the sawmill
Unfortunately!
I had acuset 1 on my lt40 remote. Over time the control cable cracked and would connect and disconnect as the sawhead moved.long story short, I ended up installing acuset 2. Expensive but worth it
It's the summer Gremlins Cory it's like Murphy's Law anything can go wrong
That’s true
Good save Cory, we've all had those days.
👍🏻
Well, I did the same thing but it was all my fault. On location about 35 miles from home parts flew everywhere. I looked at my client and said “I’ll see you in a few days”. 5 days later and $250 I shouldn’t have had to spend and I was back. He was a good guy and didn’t ask too many questions. That’s what happens to me when I’m talking while I’m sawing.
Yes these things happen, usually at the worst time but all we can do is figure out how to put it back together! I’ve always said in this business I find the customers are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
Almost always! They love to see the mill do its thing and are usually eager to help. You just have to find the right job you are both comfortable with.
Cheer up everyone that runs machines has days like this
Yes that’s for sure!
Is that "caution overload" a common fault on the acuset control?
My set works are pre Accuset. They are the original woodmizer set works.
Don't know, but maybe the computer is going haywire
At least you have a good place to sit to work on it 😟
I’ve spent lots of hours sitting on that drag back table!
We just need to feed the dog wipe the mud off and keep going! God be with you!
👍🏻
Call Nick at Shade Gap
Maybe he can come out?
I’ve never had anything on that mill I couldn’t fix myself!
Knock on wood! Lol
Glad you got her running
I can’t comment on your siding, ability or the condition mechanically of your sawmill, but I can comment on your extremely extremely untidy work area and saw mill. The old saying is cleanliness is next to godliness, but you must in my opinion make more of an effort to keep your work area clean. Hoping you take my advice, your newest subscriber. ✌️🇨🇦
I can’t say you’re wrong, it’s simply a matter of time. I do the best I can but if you watch some of my videos you’ll see I have a lot of equipment/buildings/stuff to maintain and a relentless work schedule. Unfortunately cleaning often falls last in line, especially at the mill. Anyone who’s worked at a mill can agree you can spend as much time cleaning as producing if you want to keep it spotless. Thanks for subscribing!
@@hillcustomlumber good day, sir I thank you for your most pleasant answer to my rather cutting abuse of your outfit. I should be ashamed of myself, and I am. I should not have sent that message in such a manner. My deepest apologies from the bottom of my heart. Even though I continue to watch channel I will not comment on much in the future. I have a big mouth so I might comment again, but it will be a pleasant one. God bless you, sir. ✌️🇨🇦
If I couldn’t handle criticism I wouldn’t post what I do for the world to see! I appreciate you taking the time to watch, I started this channel to educate and maybe entertain a little, but I’ve found a loyal group of followers that help educate and improve myself! You’ll never hear me say my way is right but I will explain why I do things the way I do and take from it what you want. Don’t be afraid to comment in the future…good or bad!
