You forgot My Chemical Romance and Green Day
@@chelsiesyvertsen6105 girl did you not hear the beginning of the video 😭
also cmon mcr while adjacent is Not pop punk
Yes good Charlotte , All Time Low
@vivilacobras oh stupid me and I'm a guy using my moms account
Dammit I said green day
TOP 3! 🏆 Thanks, WatchMojo!
Number 1 on my list . 🤘🏽
#1 for me. Lol
Numero 1 para mi
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰🥰🥰🥰
NFG is top 1 in my list 🤘
I am flummoxed that Bowling For Soup didn't even garner an honorable mention.
Life After Lisa and The Girl All The Bad Guys Want are killer songs.
Plus, they did a lot of the music for Phineas and Ferb, one of my all-time fave 'toons.
Bruh, they did BFS dirty for not mentioning them... I'm kinda hurt
I like them too. I feel like they are sometimes one of the forgotten bands of the 2000s. Even though they had some good songs.
I agree. And I got to see them live in Rolla Missouri in 2019. Was using a cane at the time and the lead singer saw my cane in the air and yelled it out. Good times
BFS is wayy poppier than pop-punk should be.
Also P!atD is emo and you could easily replace it with BFS
Sum 41, Fallout Boy and Panic at The Disco are still 3 of my favorite bands to this day.
yessirrrrr btw p!atd album tmrw
Fall out boy
@Tom Dawg It's not my favorite, but not too terrible in my opinion. I like a few songs from the last 2 albums. Not enough songs to buy them though.
@Tom Dawg i thinks alright
@Tom Dawg Gotcha
NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD!!!
I'm still hearing these lyrics: "I don't wanna waste my time, become another casualty of society!" 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Good Charlotte,Sum 41,Green Day,White Stripes,Jimmy Eats World, Evanescence are all my favorite bands in the 2000s.
Nice hands
Green Day came out in 95
@@bricon729 they started in 87
They didn’t sell out tho until the 2000s
Green Day’s first album that was through the record label reprise was Dookie that album came out in 1993 by the time of the new millennium they were already on there fourth record (fifth if you included there international super hits) with warning
I got into pop punk at 12 years old I got into bands like sum 41, simple plan, good charlotte, new found glory, yellowcard, fall out boy, the all american rejects, blink 182, and green day.
We are basically the same
Get into the holy grail … late 70s punk ! The best
@@FORNICATOR1981 If you're into it. Everyone has their different tastes. Pop-punk is less abrasive, more relatable to the generation born in the 90s. We gravitate to what appeals to us. Late 70s punk of course was the great foundation to modern punk sub-styles.
I prefer 90’s skatepunk, thanks.
This is literally my playlist!
Blink-182 will forever be my favorite.
So many greats. But I think it's fair to put Blink at number 1. With Sum 41 as a close 2nd.
Couldn't agree more brother
Agreed
Blink got famous in 97 with the song “dammit” so I’m not sure how they made it on this list. They’re definitely a 90’s band
@@311bryanhagan I was thinking the exact same thing.
Nah Blink as 1 and NFG as 2
Blink is a deserved 1, but there's SO many that could've been in the "honorable mention" section. Best/most fun genre of all time in my opinion, I hope the style makes a comeback someday
Green day had much more hits
Blink is 90s
The comebacks rn baby
Me too I miss this sound
Rufio also deserves a mention.
Still rocking most of them to this day 🎧
Seeing All Time Low live was phenomenal! I had a blast and everyone had a fun time over there! Definitely one of the best pop punk bands out there!
Being young In relativity to when these bands were at an all time high I’ve never had the experience of seeing any of them live so I will be indulging in All Time Low at reading festival 🤟
Just saw them live last Monday in Manila. Best live band I’ve ever seen!
@@matthewpreece6068 I think I discovered them at their all time middle.
I think Yellowcard should be in the top 10. Ocean Avenue was so amazing, personally I loved even the other albums. I am sad, Ryan decided to take different direction.
Same with mayday parade
for sure
Better than all American rejects IMO
They got back together. 😊
I've been listening to these bands since I was in elementary school, now I'm 25 and gonna see them all at When We Were Young! 🤘
Lucky!
Lol any update on your tickets randomly refunding yet?
@@tb_twisted I have not received any refund, this is the first I'm hearing of this lol.
I'm glad they mentioned Simple Plan. They are popular here and one of the bands that I grew up with.
Glad Paramore made the list!!!
I was 18 in 2000. Lets just say I still listen to all of these bands. So do my 4 kids.
Not having Bowling For Soup anywhere on this list completely invalidates it.
While I love BFS, they're probably around 12-15 on this list.
@@FnordKyuss which should be enough to at least get honorable mention.
Sum 41 not being in the top 3 is unfair. They encapsule everything the genre stands for.
Agreed.
Agreed
Sum is half pop punk and half metal though so you can't just say they are a punk band, I guess that would put them down the list (as much as I love Sum, I do think they are top 3 out of these bands)
Sum 41 under Paramore... That's ridiculous. They should be like 3rd place. Going to see them live again in October!!
blink is my favorite band and growing up i listened to them all the time. but never knew how popular they were and thought i was part of a small fanbase. so strange seeing so many people love them as much as i do.
I listened to Alkaline Trio at a Coherd and Cambria concert last month! They were awesome!
Alkaline Trio is bad ass
Yellowcard Loved Their Entire Music Catalog from 2005 - 2016 almost 10 years I'm old man
Blink 182 was already known with their first album Dude Ranch which came out in 1996-97 lol. I love them, but they were before the 2000s but got bigger and bigger during the decade
Also, to edit, they appear in American Pie which was released in 1999, and was shot in 98.
same with Fall out Boys
@@tonskyanthony3094 fall out boy released their first studio album in like 03
The Cheshire Cat album is so slept on. CAROUSEL will forever be a amazing song.
@@burrr5030 Concur. Absolute jam for sure
It matters how you define pop punk. Meaning became mainstream/popular. Dude Ranch had radio play for sure, but that was was ‘98 and right on the cusp. Enema of the state blew the doors open for pop punk
Jimmy Eat World's 'Futures' is a masterpiece. For the people who don't know the album, check it out, it's amazing
“Clarity” is my favorite album ever. I always forget how amazing “Futures” is, too.
Nothing beats 23
couldn't be more agree with a comment... indeed is a masterpiece
Bleed American has the hits but man once you listen to Futures you really see how powerful they were on that album
Agreed. I always preferred Futures to Bleed American.
Man, this brings me back to my teenage years. So many middle and high school anthems in this video.
So psyched the genre is finally making a comeback!
Wait it is
@@bigchris327 sure, since 2019 thanks to Travis Barker with artists like MGK, Jxdn, KennyHoopla, a lot of rappers and even older artists came back to pop punk like Avril Lavigne. It's actually bigger than never since the genre 'died'
I think the genre never died, the 2010s had The Story So Far, Neck Deep, Knuckle Puck... I guess the genre wasn't as mainstream as it was back then, but still big
Grew up loving this genre as a 10 year old and still do to this.
Honorable mentions
Sugarcult,Rufio,Mayday Parade,Boys Like Girls and You Me At Six are definitely some great honorable mentions
Rufio 👍👍
In my opinion, the term "One hit wonder" was basically nonexistent in the early 2000s. That's how good artists at the time were for me.
Pop Punk is my most favorite music genre.
Stellar list, saw sum 41 this year and they absolutely killed it live, got emotional singing pieces and with me. For any fans of new found glory their movie song covers are actually pretty amazing
This is such a feel good video, my school days relived watching this 😊👌
I started to listen to Paramore when I was 11 now im 25 and I’m so glad that I watched them on live now at the Corona Capital fest here at Mexico.
Hayley Williams will forever steal my heart as always ❤️🔥 thanks for everything, your music saved my life.
Which you were to late to know about punk rock😞
Anytime I need to get hyped up, I always play a Blink 182 song
My Chemical Romance was pretty good too
Yeah they're definitely missing from this list
they were so dynamic and the black parade was one of the greatest and most influential albums of that whole era. and its honesty not even my favourite from them. i definetley think they should've been on this list, maybe even somewhere near the top.
Not pop punk
Theyre not really pop punk. They have some pop punk elements but I wouldnt put them in the genre.
Emo/post hardcore/punk
And even then, Id just say emo lol. Theyre one of the bands I weirdly just classify as emo and not much else, especially their first album. Like The Used Id say is emo and post hardcore for sure because of the harder music
49 years old now and this video is a playlist of my life during that time. In fact I still listen to this music regularly and have most of these bands on my iTunes playlist.
I am old, and pretty old school punk, but The Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World is an undeniably [bleeping] great song.
Awesome list 🥰 I still listen to the majority of these amazing bands especially Paramore, fall out boy and PANIC! at the Disco , brings back memories 🥹
I’d honestly put Sum at number 2, they’re definitely one of the best punk bands and one of the best bands to come from Canada during the 2000s
i still have their albums, 🤣does this look infected was the first rock album i ever bought!!🥀2002 was when i got into mainstream music. Thanks for Nothing was my fav track onit💘second to that is Second Chance in half hour of power ong☄️💥i cant believe how long ago that was🥹
im a big sum fan, but theres no way you could put them above NFG. epecially since sticks and stones is probably the greatest pop punk album of all time
@@Derek4k 🔭compared to sum41, NFG are much more energetic live, and i luv their live album so f much . but sum 41 went into Metal by the time they reached Chuck, they matured really fast 💨
@@PrincessDesert NFG is your favourite pop punk bands band.
@@Derek4k what?? 🧱which pop punk band r u talking about
I was so happy to see my boys even at 10. So underrated.
Likin park. sum 41. blink 182 thousand foot krutch are some of my favorites
Linkin Park was Nu Metal, not Pop Punk
Paramore is pop punk
No one cares if paramore is pop punk
And tfk is definitely NOT pop punk
I love when artists can get really emotional and epic .. “ The Only Exceptional “ by Paramour is such. A beautiful song 🔥❤️
*Exception
@@stansb37 sure 👍🏻
It ALWAYS blows my mind when Alkaline Trio is called pop punk bc I first thought of their sound as just punk. Then a friend told me they were emo and I listened more to their lyrics and they were definitely emo. But yeah their sound is a bit pop punk even with the dark lyrics lol. Great to see them “pop” up every now and again.
Bruh idk how this whole genre has punk in its name ,the exploited, charged gbh are punk this is light pop music.
Didn’t know I needed this list so badly.
Hahaha my exact same reaction. What a pleasant video to stumble upon
Great vid, 2000’s Pop Punk is all I listen to
I gotta be 100% honest, but you guys have made some REALLY cringy lists, but as someone that was a teen in the 2000s and still regularly jams out to pop punk music, I knew I couldn't miss this video!
The starting line was great also
This is a great top 3
love all of them, i still prefer this amazing bands than most of the actual music but really Simple Plan just an honorable mention??? they should be on the top 2, they're so good, legendary and still keep making amazing music
What?! No Bowling For Soup or Relient K?!
Alkaline Trio rocks. I’ve seen them a few times and they crushed it every time
Sum 41, Blink 182, Green Day, Foo Fighters 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️
sum 41 blink 182 green day🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of the best music genres, imo. I knew virtually all of these bands (even if I only knew one song by them lol) 😌 Makes my heart so happy.
Happy to see Yellowcard on honorable mentions but god wish they made the list like they were my childhood, loved Sean Mackin on violin like name how many modern bands had a violinist and was able to rock out during a live gig.
Good Charlotte never deserved the hate they got
Wrote all their material
Toured their asses off
Evolved as their albums went on
And all stayed good humble men during it
No way!! MCR!
Bayside not being mentioned in this list even as an honorable is pretty criminal
Oh come on now, Bayside is nowhere near as commercially popular as any of these bands.
I was an ‘adult’ by the 2nd wave of pop punk, so I wasn’t really the intended audience. But I always really appreciated the music.
But I’m really just here to make sure New Found Glory gets the love and respect they deserve. Well done.
Born and raised in Arizona, I loved Jimmy Eat World, I was hoping Authority Zero would make the list too.
Thank you
So many awesome bands on this list 🥰
Sum 41 is number 1 for me. They still make AWESOME music
Same. And not many bands can claim that.
Without Blink there is no Sum.
Blink 182 Forever
I love the fact that all the music videos are still at 240p and rightfully so, it should never change.
Thank goodness you have Good Charlotte a spot on the list I LOVE THAT BAND
This actually made me sad with how much nostalgia it smacked me with.
What a time and what a genre.
I have an appreciation for all genres but pop punk is my passion! My personal favorite band is Every Avenue, their sound is just too good!
Me too, every avenue is my favorite band.
@@martintheresume8054 let’s go! Which song is your favorite? Mine is “where were you?”
There needs to be a part 2 to this
Still listen to a lot of these bands
I generally agree with the list, I would only slightly rearrange the order including Good Charlotte and Jimmy Eat World into the top 5 of the chart. Just because All Time Low and Paramore rose to fame towards the end of the decade sort of I would swap them places with any bands from honourable mentions adding Metro Station to them. Simple Plan sure deserve to be in the list.
Paramore needs to be #2 on this list imo
Yess
Nope. You were a child in the 00s.
Glad Simple Plan got a mention. I grew up listening to these guys and they are so underrated.
Yeah but they definitely should've been on the list
This is probably the best and most accurate WatchMojo list I've seen in years
It isn't
I was born when most of these bands were out. So, I'm a HUGE pop-punk fan.
Blink182 as #1 isn’t a surprise. Lolol. Some of the honorable mentions I like more than ones on the list. My #1 would be My Chemical Romance. Then again I’m not sure if they’d be considered “pop punk”.
My Favorite Pop Punk Band:
1. Blink 182
2. Paramore
3. Panic! At The Disco
4. Fall Out Boy
5. Sum 41
6. All Time Low
7. Good Charlotte
8. New Found Glory
Honorable Mentions:
1. Simple Plan
2. The All-American Rejects
3. Yellowcard
4. Taking Back Sunday
Was really hoping Bowling for Soup would make the list but a great list overall.
100% agree Blink 182 deserves that top spot. One of my top 5 bands all time
All American Rejects should probably have made the top 10 somewhere
good video
My list :
10. All time low
9. Yellowcard
8. All american rejects
7. Good charlotte
6. Fall out boy
5. Simple plan
4. New found glory
3. My chemical romance
2. Sum 41
1. Blink 182
1. Green Day
2. Sum 41
3. Yellowcard
4. All Time Low
5. Blink 182
6. Fall Out Boy
7. Good Charlotte
8. Alkaline Trio
9. New Found Glory
10. Taking Back Sunday
Yeah Green Day probably my favorite too. Along with New found glory and good Charlotte
Good take
Idk why but I now miss that era of pop punk/emo bands even though I hated it at the time and I’m a 27 year old black man
As a 26 year old black man, I loved it at the time. Listened to just about every band on this list quite a bit except for New Found Glory.
Great decade of music. Here are my Top 10 Albums of 2000-2009:
1. Alkaline Trio- From Here to Infirmary (2001)
2. Dropkick Murphys- Blackout (2003)
3. Bouncing Souls- How I Spent My Summer Vacation (2001)
4. The Explosion- Black Tape (2004)
5. Green Day- American Idiot (2004)
6. Against Me!- New Wave (2007)
7. The Unseen- State of Discontent (2005)
8. Rise Against- Siren Song of the Counter Culture (2004)
9. Goldfinger- Open Your Eyes (2002)
10. The Loved Ones- Keep Your Heart (2006)
Growing up during the Pop-Punk/Alt-Punk Era these bands were my childhood. and my nr1 will always be Sum 41 with Fall out Boy close second
Story of the Year!!!! They for sure deserve a spot!
Post-Hardcore, not pop punk
I'm so glad New Found Glory got the recognition they deserve. All Time Low at Leeds can't wait for that
the orange sang the theme song of Generator Rex and it was amazing
Pls do a top list of UK's indie rock band also from 2000s
Love to Alkaline get some love.
Blink-182 is the best band of all time !! ❤️
I listen to NFG almost daily.
No no no, BOWLING FOR SOUP NEEDS TO BE ON THIS LIST
Mi banda favorita del punk pop es blink 182
También me gusta green day, sum 41,good charlotte, fall out boy
I'm 33 and some of the bands you mentioned, made up my childhood
Seeing Sum41 and Simple Plan tomorrow night 🤘
God I loved this video.
Blink 182 was 3 albums deep in the 90s 😅 and how on earth did Bowling for soup not get a mention?
Yeah but they were at their commercial peak from 1999-04. No other band in the genre was more successful during that stretch. Enema and Jacket combined for nearly 40 million album sales worldwide. Not even Green Day we're putting up those kinds of numbers. That's why their number 1
I can respect the list, but bowling for soup should have at least been an honorable mention.
there more rock then pop
@@jimbo9208 I completely disagree. 1985, highschool never ends, 99 biker friends. Nothing about those songs scream rock group.
@@marcuslytle1883 yep I agree
It looks like Negative Man works with Robot Man…..
You have an interesting list of rather interesting Heroes and Heroines…..
Germ lady? If she was a super villainess, would she work with the Chicoms?
I read an Animal Man comic years ago and while he’s played for laughs these days he was a lot more serious back in the day.
Interesting video
This list is essentially my playlist when I go to the gym.
