my wife and me travel the world with our normal dell 24" monitors, we wrap them up in a blanket together like a sandwich and have been successfully carrying them everywhere for years now. am looking for lighter options now so this is interesting....
It's unacceptable. Anything is better than 1920x1080. That's a 16-17" resolution at most, not for a 24" display in this day and age. It should have been at the very least 2560x1600 if not 4k.
I have the 15.6in zenscreen (with touch and battery). it's awesome, but the 15.6 lacks the stands, and that cable jutting out from the side can cause issues trying to position it. It's also a THunderbold/PD capable cable so the head is a tad longer. do wish it would have the option of a 90degrees angled usb cable so that it does not get snagged easily
WTF dude... I understand you wanna make money with you affiliate links but.... this product does not make ANY sense at all....and you should say that... How on Earth are you supposed to bring with you such a big monitor? Where are you going to pack it? And then you also have to deal with the power brick.... And it is that big and only HD? The only very remote reason for trying to deal with such an unportable portable monitor would be having a high res screen that's big enough to make any sense....
Assuming you mean the XG17AHP(E), I think that was a better monitor than this is, unless you really only care about the size of it. These two monitors have very different intended purposes though.
I believe in this case "Portable" is referring to the form factor. With these retractable stands I could easily envision a slim, padded case to carry two of these and the associated gear.
It only mirrors with my ipad pro 11 - and it won't fill the whole screen unless you're streaming video - at which point it is only displaying on the Asus screen, and only displays the controls on the ipad - also works with the ipad mini 6th gen - confirmed with some research that you can only mirror your ipad - the ipads cannot use an external display as a secondary screen.
No offense, but you could have shown videos on the display in full screen, instead all videos were narrower than display. Because of this, we could not get how immersive it is and the quality of the whole display.
I wouldn't have made a comment about the pass thru charging without testing it. With a weak charging connection, the battery could still drain instead of charging.
To be frank with you, emphasizing how "huge" a 24" monitor is was quite funny. I mean... it's 24". We all know what that means. Having owned 40" and larger screens, how can I be impressed by that? I am also quite disappointed by the fact you did not mention it has the same screen resolution as 15" models. What's the point of a larger screen if it has the same resolution as the small one? How's that for "extra screen estate"?

Ben can You check some RTX hardware (pc or laptop) to have "gsync compatibility" when this monitor is plug in? Since is adaptive sync and freesync so after plugged it should be option in Nvidia panel to check that compability with gsync but I need to be sure and there is no info on net. Thank You so much for that.
This display really stretches the definition of portability to the max. Sort of like how the old HP HDX 9000 laptop was 'portable' but not intended to be a device carried frequently. I see this 24" ZenScreen in the same way. Not something to take with you every day, only when you _really_ need the extra screen space such as a business meeting. The large size (made unnecessarily larger by its super-wide bezels), weight and external PSU make it very awkward. Another thing that's surprising considering the cost is the relatively low resolution of 1920x1080. Even my decade-old 24" Samsung LCD monitor has a 1920x1200 resolution. Come on Asus, you can do better than this.

Me. I'm moving 200 lbs of photo and lighting equipment anyway. A big screen helps my prop stylist preview the image. I can see it being useful for a photo booth as well for those few clients without a big rolling TV onsite.
Ok, we are almost there. Need this but with 240 Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time for gaming :D Would be nice if I could roll it up and put it in my backpack too. Give me a shout if any manufacturer will make that a thing ;)

It only mirrors with my ipad pro 11 - and it won't fill the whole screen unless you're streaming video - at which point it is only displaying on the Asus screen, and only displays the controls on the ipad - also works with the ipad mini 6th gen - confirmed with some research that you can only mirror your ipad - the ipads cannot use an external display as a secondary screen.
