Great reaction and this song is from their new album "Epic Narratives". So far it's my favorite from the album for the use of the vocal melodies and harmonies in the last third of the song. Kanami, lead guitarist (full length maid outfit) is the main composer and when she was writing this song she suffered the lost of a close relative. She talked about that in an interview: KANAMI: Yes. Actually, SAIKI had been telling me for a while that she wanted a song with a lot of development. And when I was making this song, I happened to have experienced the death of someone close to me, so I was thinking about things like "What is life?" and "What does it mean to live?" So I thought I'd like to try to express things like "What is a person's life?" and "Life has ups and downs" through music. Even though there are ups and downs and many changes, there should be a core that never changes, so I expressed that in the riff... I'm kind of embarrassed to say this myself (laughs). The other song off this album that you should listen to is "The One" - these are all available on their YT channel in the "Releases" section (it does not have a MV).
Thanks for your nice reaction.....have you tried traveling back in time to check out their 1st music video " Thrill "?. Their label was getting ready to pull the plug on BM until Thrill saved them . When it first came out, many naysayers did not believe the girls played the instruments themselves so the instrumentalists had to play cover songs to prove that they can actually play...lol. At this time Miku did not even know how to play guitar in this video. You can see her holding it like a prop. Konami took her under her wing and taught her how to play. Our favorite pigeon has come a long way with her guitar skills.. Thanks again and we hope you explore more of BandMaid....
The song is about Life and Death. Kanami evidently wrote this as a response to the passing of someone close to her. She says she was questioning what life is about and everything that has happened in the last three and a half years. Anyone who follows Band-Maid knows that it is an understatement to say that the last few years have been eventful. They have been very busy on all fronts.
The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Evelyn!

Cool reaction video. There's plenty more Band-Maid content to savour. And BabyMetal and Atarashi Gakko. But that's not even scratching the surface of the wealth of talent Japan has to offer. In terms of vocal groups (all-female) you might try some of the edgier ones such as PassCode (Taking You Out) ; SHINGEKI (Gaia) ; Mad medicine (Mad Sick Show) ; TENRIN (Anarchy) . As for all female bands that play their own instruments. Over the past 60 years there have been hundreds of them. Currently, among the more popular bands are Scandal, Gacharic Spin, Shishamo, Hump Back, Lovebites, Hanabie. , Hagane, Haku. , Nemophila, NEK! , East of Eden. My personal favourites among the new bands : komsume, EARTAG, Pinky Donna, Muses, KOIAI.
