11 years and 130+ songs of pure greatness 🔥❤️ Was working about 30 years in rockbusiness, seen few thousand gigs and NEVER seen or heard BETTER band than Band-Maid 🔥 They have it all.. Passion Work Heart Talent Groove. Magical band, amazing musicians, best friends. For me..Kanami Tōno, lead gtr and composer, is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century, maybe even ever. Pure genius as a composer, always composes to the whole band and on stage true Rock’n Roll Star. Best liveband in this Universe 🔥 Check out their livevideos..maybe ” Hate?( Official Live Video)”
This is one of the very very few Band-Maid songs that does not have a guitar solo from Kanami. This is from a brand new album released last week called Epic Narratives. Maybe try out Shambles soon, from the same album. On the other hand, you have to watch a live video from them to really appreciate what they got - for this, I'd recommend Hate? (the question mark is in the title).
And they are even better LIVE. They're just that good! Secondary lead Miku Kobato, rhythm guitarist is the founder who took the Maid cafe concept and married it to impossibly hard rocking cute girls. They are constantly improving and striving for excellence in everyway. A growl or two but screaming?? We don' need no freakin' screaming! We call ourselves Maidiacs but the Maids call us Masters and Princesses. They call their concerts servings. And they serve up a hell of a show. Bad ass rock, beautiful ballads, loads of interplay with each other on stage, goofing with each other during the song. Audience interaction to a rare degree. I could go on but suffice it to say many consider them to be the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century! They are not just an ordinary band at all.
Band-Maid will take you all different directions. They have a brilliant primary composer in Kanami (lead guitarist), who can write in any style or genre. Hard rock? Hate, Warning, Rinne. Ballads? Daydreaming, endless story. Prog? Black Hole, H-G-K. The list is endless. Keep it going boyz.
Band-Maids' secret weapon is the bassist Misa, aka " The Barefoot Assassin! " Kanami, lead guitarist, and the main composer / arranger, loves to let Misa shine ! 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
Band-Maid's rhythm guitarist/second vocalist formed the band by pitching a "Hard Rocking Maid Band" to a management agency that specialized in promoting female idol groups. Miku Kobato had worked part time in several cosplay Maid cafés, enjoyed the concept and the work ethic, and thought that she could transfer the concept into a rock band. Her idea was that an audience would remember "The Gap" - the unexpected moment when 5 cute girls launch into heavy hitting hard rock. Shock value. They present their concerts as "Servings" like a meal at a restaurant, hence the "Greetings, Masters and Princesses" opening line. Band-Maid is that unusual combination of 'made up' group that also can be considered organic. Miku was given a green light to recruit a band and she started by searching for a lead guitar, while the management agency advertised auditions for a "Maid Band". She recruited songwriter/guitarist Kanami Tono after seeing her posting covers online. Kanami called the drummer she had recorded demos with: Akane Hirose and convinced her to join, Akane then called her friend Misa, a bassist she knew from college who was looking for a new band. They later auditioned Saiki Atsumi as a lead vocalist. Miku and Saiki are the only two band members who weren't acquaintances of Akane prior to joining the band. That was in 2013. Since then they have had an incredible journey. Too many stories to tell, so you can imagine why their latest album is named "Epic Narratives".

Hey Guys, This is indeed a new song and was off their just released new full album. They have a massive catalog to go through. I would suggest doing one of their official lives (John would say the same) next as they shine the most live. I have seen them twice live here in the states (Once in Nashville, John was at the show but we missed each other in the crowd).
Thank you guys and Shout out to John R(Carrier Pigeons🐦PO) Welcome come home Master(male fan) And Princess(female fan),of course you guys have to make decision on your own who get to be Master and who get to be Princess, because there two of you😏(but no fighting between you Two, ok👌👌🤭. You want to see gang singing🤔… I can think of 1 song ‘PLAY (official live) by BAND MAID” but not sure it’s what you want. The song you are reacting to now FORBIDDEN TALE is pretty slow and soft for what they normally do (I mean majority of Their songs), as you can see Drum, Bass and Lead guitar are pretty busy in this Band so I doubt They have time singing 😄. And normally at Band Maid OKYUJI (Band Maid’s Concert). They will play around 2hrs and 20+ songs, IMO the 3 I mentioned above definitely not gonna have energy to do singing (that why They have Two singers🤷🏻♀️) and most of Their songs are very Intense. If you want to know more about Them, you can ask your friend -(John R 🙇♂️🙏). You Guys Definitely Need to check out Their song PLAY(live). AGAIN THANK you for This wonderful Reaction. See you AGAIN
There are 130 ish other great songs to choose from. This band are better live than in the studio. In the 35years of listening to music these women are the only band I actually follow.
Thanks Jon Reaves for spreading the word! Thanks you guys for the fun reaction, subbed! You may think you know what you've found, but wait until, for instance, you'll find one of the songs with an amazing guitar lead. Or one of the big bass solos. You're in for a wild ride. 😄
Good knowledgeable reaction. You guys picked up on many aspects of Band Maid. They are up to 125+ songs, most are very good, none are bad! They also do every type of rock, so lots of variety. Two popular live performances are HATE?, and Domination. Two recent MV are Shambles, and Influencer. For killer instrumentals, Onset, and From Now On.
Kanami, lead guitar (crabcore? lol) wrote this song supposedly for a friend who passed away. In this song she laid way back (although if you listen closely to her, she’s basically always playing ‘lead level’ melodies) and did what she always does when not playing a technical lead, and that is making her guitar pop back & forth between playing full string &/or horn string accompaniment. Usually Kanami does a short, but very tasteful, melodic lead part in most songs, which some how are as technical & flashy as hell, but still are totally faithful to the song’s melody (if you want to see just how good she is at going total shredder while still creating major ‘ear worm’ riffs & melodies, check out the Band-Maid instrumental ‘From Now On’ … most reactors mention how they weren’t expecting an instrumental, but didn’t mind because the guitar literally & perfectly took the place of the lyrics in the best way possible. And that’s only part of her talent … writing most of their songs, arrangements, mentoring the other musicians (the back up vocals & back up guitar literally had never picked up a guitar until Kanami decided she needed another guitar player … the drummer is constantly complaining/complimenting her on the songs she writes that force her to become a better drummer, and while the bassist is probably the best rock bassist alive and doesn’t need anyone to teach her anything about bass, she has someone who arranges music that keeps her happy with not having to live within some preconceived idea of how a bass should remain unnoticed in the background. As a long time fan, and someone who feels Kanami is the best rock musician ever to do it, I know what she’s doing and can appreciate how damn talented she is even when it looks like she’s doing nothing (they say the sign of a good musician is knowing what not to play and when not to play it… Kanami, as you will learn if you go deeper into band-maid has completely mastered that skill as well. This band is the real thing … their organic roots, their pre Band-Maid lives, how they got together, their fans (playing of the ‘Maid Cafe’ culture of Japan… concerts are ‘servings’ and their fabs, we call ourselves ‘maidiacs’, they call us ‘masters & princesses’,) their growth, every aspect of what makes a great band great … this band, and each individual member, has it in spades. They are’The Beatles’,if The Beatles were better musicians, more consistent, harder workers, loved their fans more, and wrote better songs (just, partially kidding … love the Beatles, I grew up in the 60s, but Band-Maid out shines them all ;-)
Band-Maid is awesome!! Check out Real Existence live, Rinne MV, Dice MV, Domination live, Shambles MV, Warning MV, etc. You will enjoy. Thanks for sharing your reaction and looking forward to more Band-Maid!

Welcome to Band Maid! The best rock band on the planet (imo of course) You should check out some of their live stuff, I think you’d really like Domination (live) based on your wish list of things you want from them. You won’t get growls from Band Maid, though the singers have other talents that shine throughout their music. Not much in the way of gang vocals either, the lead guitarist sings occasionally, but she’d rather play her guitar. If you do want some Japanese girl band music with some excellent growls though, check out Hanabie, either “We Love Sweets” or “Tousou”
Agree, headphones would be best for reactors to listen, but the sound quality we get to hear from them is usually low quality with un-matched sound from the reactors and the music. But for listening at home, I would suggest, build yourself a high-end stereo system with a processor, separate amplifier's, high quality speakers and subwoofers and you will throw those headphones in the drawer like I did. Yeah, the headphones sound great, but it's nothing like a well-tuned high-end stereo system that brings out great detailed music that you can hear and also feel. Yeah, it's expensive, but you can build it piece by piece, and since I'm not rich, it took me two years to upgrade to my current system. The sound is really close to being on par with being center stage at a concert where you can feel the music also, and it's there any time you want. Of course, no system can replace the experience of being at a live concert, but who can go to a concert every day.
The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Thx, Guys!
Akane, the drummer, said she was holding back in this song as it would be serving the song to be so "inventive" as she normally is. Want more of her and some call and respond? Try "Hate?" live.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. John has set you on the edge of the Pigeon-hole which is extremely deep and diverse. I hope you enjoy your journey as plunge into this amazing band. This song is one of their newest, just released on their new album "Epic Narratives", 9/25/24. Fantastic album. You're going to hear, Band-Maid is best live. Not lying, they are, but their studio MV's should not be overlooked, as some also provide context to the song. Glad you guy did this, as your knowledge as musicians definitely makes the breakdown great to watch. Keep on rocking with the Maids. There is so much great music by these ladies. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 Some suggestions: "Domination" OLMV at Line Cube Shibuya. This one might be a good one to do a two-for reaction. Start with the OMV. It will give you an idea of the story of the song. Then watch the OLMV. You will see the differences from their studio and live performances. "Don't You Tell Me" OLMV from their 10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. A fantastic live performance with a very nice conversation between the bass and lead guitar. The OMV is also a great MV and has Easter Eggs on the member's personalities. Maybe come back to the OMV after you've learned more about the members. The live for now, to get to know what the band is like live. "Hate?" OLMV from the same Yokohama Arena show. This was song 27 of 33 of a 3hr and 40min Okyu-ji (what they call their live concerts, which translate to "serving"). Amazing how the Maids that's about pure hatred sound so high spirited. Be sure to keep the CC on, as the lyrics are quite entertaining. "Onset" OLMV an amazing instrumental from the ZEPP Tokyo Okyu-ji. Watch for MISA's (bass) pick slight of hand move. "From Now On" OMV another amazing instrumental that kicks 🍑! "Thrill" OMV the MV which saved the band. It was their first MV and if it didn't succeed, the label was going to break the band apart. Thank the Rock Gods the MV went viral. "Alone" OMV another milestone marker song in the world of Band-Maid. The first song Management approved which was written by the Maids. Since that song they've never looked back, almost every song since has been composed and written by Band-Maid. "Manners" & "Black Hole" OLMV from their Online Okyu-ji. A great two-for showing off two completely different aspects of the band. The first, "Manners", has a groovy/bluesy feel. Then buckle your seatbelts as you pulled into the chaos of being sucked into a black hole. A burner of a song and their current highest bpm song at 220. "Daydreaming" OMV a masterpiece of a rock ballad. A song which is up there in the rankings with many Maidiacs. "Blooming" OMV another masterpiece of composition by the genius Kanami (lead guitar), who is the main composer of the Maids. This song was created from a "homework" assignment Kanami gave to the other Maids. They were assigned to come up with a part of the song. Then Kanami massaged it into this brilliant song. "Rinne" OMV if you want something a bit harder. No growling or screaming in this band, but they know how to bring it! That should be a good starting sample...🤣 There is so much more...have fun...only about 130+ great songs to go...
Oddly enough for me being a huge Kanami fan, some of here greatest work (writing & arrangements) has been songs where she doesn’t do a lead … Gion-Cho was incredible, but I believe that was when she decided to start mentoring and forcing the others to push themselves, so she started giving them platforms designed to force them into guided growth … boy or boy,did that ever pay dividends!!)
You have just been served, Po! There is so much more. More Band-Maid, and more Japanese all-female bands. Nemophila, Hanabie, Love Bites, Nek!...many more. Have fun, I sure am!
Suggest Hate? live next and then Shambles and Rinne MVs. After that if you like softer try Daydreaming-MV and Endless Story-live. Acoustic? Sayonakidori would be one. Enjoy the ride.
If you want growls from a band, this isn't a right band, that said, the lead singer tends to growl a little when she gets excited live. That's a live treat though. They play many different style of music with their distinctive sound.
Welcome to the "Pigeon Hole"! Here's a guide to everything BAND-MAID: www.youtube.com/@Ohrenje. You need to improve the audio of the band you're covering.
Welcome to Band-Maid you guys. I am a BTS & Band-Maid fan & I have been following your BTS journey since the beginning. You are all really good ARMY, including Peter. Since I know both the BTS & Band-Maid bands very well, having deep-dived on both, they have parallel similarities that I have observed over the years, which I could easily list down. And yes, John Reaves is rather familiar with me (here on youtube, not in real life, heh). In fact, I was one of the guys that introduced John to Band-Maid & he had recognized that awhile ago when I told him in one of his past live streams. I wasnt totally surprised that you would eventually find your way to the Maids when it comes to being acquainted with John & that you guys also like rock/metal music. Anyway as a hardcore ARMY & a hardcore Maidiac, I hope the Maids will stick around on your channel. Miku is my favorite Maid, while I am OT7 for BTS. My suggestion is to watch Band-Maids MVs in chronological order so you get to see their musical growth. This MV you just watched is from their latest released album. Have fun. 10/06/24
Your not going to find any growling in Band-Maid. I think for some good range of songs I would react to Bestie, Hate? Live, From Now On, Don't You Tell Me Live, Puzzle Live, Alone, and maybe throw in Catharsis Acoustic and/or Sayonakidori Acoustic. I'll let someone else give the full rundown of the members.
nNce reaction, i just wonder why some reactors dont use the audio line from the video. Would be a 100% better viewer expierience. But... your channel your setup :)

Ye, our sweet Kanami can some time go wild, but this time she's a bit tame,
Well well well two new masters, sit tight, you both really going to enjoy this,

Welcome to Band Maid! The best rock band on the planet (imo of course)
You should check out some of their live stuff, I think you’d really like Domination (live) based on your wish list of things you want from them.
Welcome to the fandom! Definitely suggest listening with headphones/buds tho
Thx, Guys!
Bass solo? Next: their songs HATE? and Don’t You Tell Me
Akane, the drummer, said she was holding back in this song as it would be serving the song to be so "inventive" as she normally is. Want more of her and some call and respond? Try "Hate?" live.
You should check out the song Hate? live.
PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Some suggestions:
"Domination" OLMV at Line Cube Shibuya.
I feel like "finesse" is the word I'd been looking for to describe them, thanks!
Welcome to the Band Maid world. Enjoy the ride and don't be shy and listen their instrumentals
You will see that Band Maid is a miraculous and magical band.💯
One of the few song where there is no Kanami’s solo.
@@RetiredInThailand Totally agree you 🔥❤️
As you said hard work and talent and I would add love for what they do and real love and respect for each other.
Kanami, the lead guitarist and main composer is a master at creating complexity without showing off.
💜💛❤💙💚
Welcome to the Maidiacs.
Welcome from the “Maidiacs” 🤘
You have just been served, Po! There is so much more. More Band-Maid, and more Japanese all-female bands. Nemophila, Hanabie, Love Bites, Nek!...many more. Have fun, I sure am!
One of the best touring rock bands in the business today
Suggest Hate? live next and then Shambles and Rinne MVs. After that if you like softer try Daydreaming-MV and Endless Story-live. Acoustic? Sayonakidori would be one. Enjoy the ride.
Dudes you really need headphones, there are lot of details in this band's music.
Other than that, Welcome to Band-Maid 🔥💪
Way to go to Band Maid Grad school, as a freshman, on your 1st go, Po! 🦍🍌
Welcome to excellence 👌💪🤘🤘🤘
If you want growls from a band, this isn't a right band, that said, the lead singer tends to growl a little when she gets excited live. That's a live treat though.
They play many different style of music with their distinctive sound.
I wouldn't say "growl"... I would say "grit" or "vocal fry".
Yuta from nct 127 , dropped a song called "Off the mask" pls we need a reaction 🫸🏻🫷🏻🔥
Good job!!
🤘🤘🤘
Welcome to the "Pigeon Hole"! Here's a guide to everything BAND-MAID: www.youtube.com/@Ohrenje. You need to improve the audio of the band you're covering.
You guys are gonna freak when you see "HATE" live
Have fun.
10/06/24
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
😁🤗👍🤘🥰🕊👀
You guys ain't seen anything yet with this band
nNce reaction, i just wonder why some reactors dont use the audio line from the video. Would be a 100% better viewer expierience. But... your channel your setup :)
You're next BAND-MAID video should be.... HATE. It's a live performance. You'll thank me later.
No growls but plenty of call and response live videos. Hate and Don't You Tell Me live video at Yokohama Arena are great.
🤘🤘🤘
