We have test driven a number of new EV ‘s & hybrids over the past few months. Most have fairly rigid and uncomfortable seats. The Citroen wins on comfort and of course the great look is a bonus. We decided worth waiting for.
Looks absolutely stunning 👍 I bought a Peugeot e-2008 in December 2021 witch I absolutely love... However.. If Citroën had this version of the e-c4 back then.. Well it would have been a Citroën in my garage this days 😅 Had to get myself a Maxus Euniq 6 ev as my wife kidnapped my e-2008 😂 About the battery in the Peugeot. I drove from Trondheim(Norway) to Denmark last summer. This cars works good for longer road trips 👌
There was one in black parked on our street for a few weeks. Looked great and unlike anything else. I would give it an admiring glance each day. Love my Peugeot 2008 but this is sneaking into my affections.
Citroen seem to have the comfort right. Some ev's can be a bit harsh due to the battery weight. Great video giving a very good impression of the car. I have been saying garages should offer a car capable of longer trips to ev owners when required, and finally someone has listened. If this offer come to ireland you could have the Citroën ë-C4 X in a single car family. Hope it is priced right. Thanks Derek ps Your driving is impecable so I would not have any comments to make 😇
Great review. Great car. I hope Cutroen sell lots if them. What's the height of the seats like? Are they low down or a little higher than a regular hatchback?
I first saw the Ford Mustang EV in its hindquarters. Which isn’t a bad thing. The front isn’t as nailed down (it’s the chrome) as the rear design but I’d strongly consider it if Citroen would ship it to the states. They won’t. Just like the VW ID3, we’re not adult enough or something.
I always suspect that I’ll want a hatchback more than a saloon but this one looks good. I’d want a bit more range (our Soul can do 360-400km) but sounds like that is coming soon. This would be a good car and I’ve been a Citroen fan since I saw my first DS back in the sixties.
The battery size is just fine. However, it’s the charging speed that is a deal breaker. Fit a smaller battery that charges at 150kw+, preferably 200kw+, and it’ll be good.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Yeah I really wish manufacturers would start focusing on that. At least where I live the charging infra is already good enough. For short distance, daily driving, smaller batteries are just fine. And for long distance, it's much more useful to have fast charging instead of just a lot of capacity to drag around.
Great looking car in my opinion, nice to see a saloon, or somewhat of a saloon instead of a disgusting SUV yet again. Very interested in one but need a bigger battery as I occasionally have to do a 160 kilometre motorway journey at 120 kmph and I think this thing would run out of juice
The lack of one pedal driving, at least as a selectable option is really frustrating. Have got so used to it in my current EV that it would feel like a step backwards.
it really needs a bigger battery -45kwh usable is just not enough, they market the e-c4 as a city car they should have increased the pack to 70kwh for the bigger model to take it into true 250 mile all year range
An improvement but like you I am 6ft2 and I kept banging my head as I got in and out of the EC4 so no improvement there. Rear leg room still looks less than the Cupra Born and roof lower in the rear than the Born. 50kwh battery with 45 usable will only give you 150 mile range and less in winter. I bought the Bprn over this car and the Tesla standard range. Side fake looking exhaust rings, why ?
I found headroom OK. I probably could have moved the drivers seat up a notch or two. The side rings are totally aesthetic and Citroën call them their "Air Bumps" with can be colour customised
@@Id3fornow... I have one. Its not as hi tech as a Tesla but cheaper. Massive inside compared to most hatch backs and good for taller drivers and rear passengers. Down sides are no towing capability (possible bike towing like ID3) and no roof box as Born can't have a roof rack.
Not mad keen on the rear, seems very plain, almost bland… maybe a bit critical but just seems like a big slab back there. And at about 7:30, would you really have your phone sitting in the front like that? Upright with nothing side to side! Be under your feet at the first corner 😅
Can’t wait to see this car in the flesh. We’re fans of the Citroen brand. Hope it comes to Ireland soon.
Very soon I believe. Will be ready for 232 registrations

I think worth the wait too. Should be in dealers in the very near future for test drives.

The fast charging speeds are really good!
Forgot to say great presentation, objective and very clear.❤
Many thanks Bridget, glad you enjoyed it

Oooh, I'll not tell your PEUGEOT 😉
Thanks for the comment

Ha ha far from impeccable and you would not have approved me driving up the motorway the wrong way
Great review. Great car. I hope Cutroen sell lots if them. What's the height of the seats like? Are they low down or a little higher than a regular hatchback?
Thanks for the comment and question Sharon. I'd say a little higher than normal but I've not got the exact measurements

Ha ha I think it's the market over there just wants bigger cars. No saying that smaller cars wouldn't sell but the majority wins.
Love the look of the trunk! Very cool.
Seems to mainly be for fitting the boot hinges in 😅
😂😂😂😂

A bit more range and it would be perfect

Fair point!

Great camera work too!
Glad you think so!
Wish they are available here in Ireland and I hope the price is out
It will be in a few weeks with the cars hopefully coming in Q2
hello Derek, any experience/feedback with the Tronity app/service? Thanks, Matias
Thanks for the question Matias. Unfortunately not but looks interesting. I'd like to review
Thank you
You're welcome

It would be tight, the bigger battery would definitely be an improvement
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I wonder will they use one in future
They'll have to to stay competitive
@@NevoEVReviewIreland heres to hoping. Thanks
This sedan is just for style/opulence when the hatchback is just arguably better in every way.
And space but the hatch is very good too
The lack of one pedal driving, at least as a selectable option is really frustrating. Have got so used to it in my current EV that it would feel like a step backwards.
Thanks for the comment Eric. I'm a big fan of one pedal driving too.
looks nice for a Citroen
I agree!
Citroen have a long history of amazing looking cars! Some clunkers but some absolute classics too - more than most car companies, in my opinion.

I believe that Stellantis are bringing a slightly bigger battery to market. I think the issue is space in a non ground up EV chassis
Why does Stelantis stick with 50kwh battery, its the main reason I wouldn't consider them.
This may be the last of this battery size as the group are going to start using a slightly larger battery
@@NevoEVReviewIreland yes, 54 Kw/h AND new electric engine 156PS and more range 400km

I am thinking of the cupra born also

I'm planning to get MG4 so I wish I can compare them to specs and price
Thanks. Once we get a price we'll see but I'm going to guess at least a 7.5k difference
Its a good Citroen
Thanks, I think so too
Evening mate
Evening sir
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I'd say mate 😀 I'm not a sir
@@MrGMawson2438 Yep, we don't do titles much over here. Even Mr. ! Apart from letters from the taxman !!
The rear seats look very uncomfortable. Shame because the rest of the car seems good, maybe just stick with the normal C4
I probably made them look uncomfortable but it's really nice in the back. Take it for a spin when it gets to your local dealer.
The rear passenger room looks incredibly cramped
So it's definitely more of a sedan, not a kammback like a Prius
Thanks both. Maybe my height and filming angle made it look like that but it was very nice
You’d be of a similar age to remember the Xantia. Now we have this ugly thing. Sad times.
Beauty in the eye of the beholder. I do remember the Xantia!

Maybe whilst charging? Definitely not when driving.
Train to not knock over any police officers 😆
Wouldn't have been a good start to the drive
