Great tutorial. Going to try it on the copper accents I have gilded on a sign I am making. Can you tell me if Sodium Sulfite (Na2SO3) will work? I am having difficulty sourcing sodium sulfide (Na2S)
@Dell Pryor This is what I use. www.adorama.com/pyss1.html Let me know how it turns out. I also get it from Amazon sometimes. www.artchemicals.com/ has it too.
I love your results. Can i ask how long did you leave it for that reaction? Also was the copper leaf sealed in any way or was this put straight on after application of copper leaf? Thank you ❤
@@rogerdalescott i found the product you were talking about, thanks. But I've been reading up on sodium sulfide, barim sulfide, and cupric nitrate mixed with ammonium chloride, i have to say it seems intimidating. Now I know your product is diluted but if i use a vapor/dust respirator, chemical resistant gloves and work with it outside how much of a risk am I at. Also, do you know if David marks dvd covers all of this, (ive got the DVD coming in the mail)
Great videos! Thanks!
Thank you for this video, it gives a lot of ideas for future projects
Thanks! I have mostly very plain wood available around here. I'm looking forward to trying out these techniques this summer in the shop :)
You can get some really awesome effects with a little practice. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for this very useful tutorial.. would you tell me what did you spray to end the chemical reaction. Thanks
What is under the copper leaf? What is the vase made of? Did you apply the copper leaf to the vase? Thanks!
@ Silver Slingblade Watch this video, ua-cam.com/video/V2UZVESzWSs/v-deo.html
It will answer all of your questions.
Very pretty...how come you only used tissue paper at the end?
I love your work. I’m unable to find sodium sulfide anywhere, so can you please tell me what is a good substitute?
