    I would imagine you are using braid, right? I’m kind of new to ultralight fishing so that bobber technique was mind blowing. I was trying to figure out how to get flies to work with my ultralight setup so this is awesome

    • @byhisgracefishing
      @byhisgracefishing  Місяць тому +1

      @@yettiguy you are correct, i use 4lb braid for most of my ultralight work. Unless i am throwing a mini trout magnet then i use high viz 2lb line. But i always use a 6 to 8lb leader when i use braid. Thank you for the question. I always appreciate them any time. God bless

      It’s almost too effective. I use a long rod and catch them right off the bank almost instantly by setting it on the top. Or cast and reel pretty slow. The fish want to see it move a little but they love an easy snack, no need to move it that fast like a jig. Also if you want to release them you can push the barb in with pliers to make the hook pop out without hurting the fish as much.

    • @byhisgracefishing
      @byhisgracefishing  Місяць тому

      @@dancegod1691 I thought about bending the barb on these the next time i use them. I use a collapsible 10 foot fiberglass pole sometimes. I normally use this method trout fishing where i go, because the fish are always on the far side of the river way out of reach for normal casting a small fly. Thank you for the comment. God bless

      @@Fishingwithfaithoutdoors23 sometimes thats all that bites around here. Most of the places i fish are shallow and when summer gets into full swing the big fish go lay down and wont bite. I used to bass fish all the time but with the little ones i had to adapt to keep their interest. I like to catch bluegill the size of my hand and realised one day that those little ones are bigger than their hand so to the kids those small ones are huge to them. Its kind of funny when i looked at it like that. God bless my friend.

    Great video it funny you put out this video because I was just looking at micro poppers for my ultralight setup what was the bobber you was using

    • @byhisgracefishing
      @byhisgracefishing  Місяць тому +2

      @@raygissendanner1476 The one i was using is a silverstream sold at walmart. Eagle claw makes some but the ones around me are to big. I do know that Bett's makes their own for use with their poppers they would probably be the best. My only advice is if you use this method make sure to keep as much line as you can between the popper and the bobber. Some would think the bobber would scare the fish away but as it pops with the popper it attracts fish and they see the fly.
