I love how every time you hear/read scripture, you learn something more. For me today it's picturing Peter and John running to the tomb--were they hoping against hope that Jesus had resurrected himself? Also, the thief publicly confessing Jesus as Christ from his own cross, surrounded by crowds, and while being ridiculed, not timidly or keeping it to himself.

Michele’s question can be answered in Luke 19:11-end of chapter when Jesus tells the story of the rich man & Lazarus. There is a place where the saved Lazarus goes to Abraham’s side when he dies and the lost rich man goes to torment & can see Lazarus & Abraham across the great fixed gulf.

I believe, for a number of reasons, that our spirits are conscious after death. For example, the Bible teaching in Luke 16:19‐31, that the rich man - AFTER he had died - speaking to Abraham, and being conscious of what was happening on earth with his brothers. Also, Revelation 6:9-14 speaks about the souls of those believers who had been slain because of God's word crying out to God, asking Him how long it would be until He took action against the evil doers who had murdered them.
Also when you talk about the placement of the furniture in the tabernacle, just the same with the camp’s placement of the 12 tribes,it forms a cross when viewed from overhead. Same the the first Passover in Egypt,the two side posts and above the door,it formed a cross.
The only way that I am able to forgive is when I can see that person as Jesus sees them...

A complete surrender in truth and in Spirit of confessions, oneself and loved ones laying it at the feet of Jesus so one day it can be lifted up to heaven.

The subject of what happens when we die is totally fascinating and I love how you guys expound on scripture and also confess that we may al be wrong on our present conclusions because that is a humble heartedness we all need to have.
One point I keep coming back to is this, if we got to heaven or hell as soon as we die then what use is there for judgement day? Now as far as the thief on the cross, there are no comma's in the original text so it might say ...
“Truly I tell you today < YOU WILL be with Me in Paradise.” AS IN SOMETIME DOWN IN THE FURTURE as may very well align with how the thief asked- “Jesus, remember me
***W H E N*** (as if in the case of NOT TODAY but when the time does come to establish it ),
You come into Your kingdom!”
OR it might say “Truly I tell you < today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
We must remember that the Scripture accounts were of a culture we are not presently in but of Hebrew understandings.
It is also believed by many Hebrew scholars that the two thieves were actually Jewish Zealots, which was illegal activism often violent and warfare trained against the parasitical leaders of that time. The retentive one said to the other, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same judgment?", SAME judgement meaning speaking AGAINST the injustice of the Pharisees doings KNOWING that they were abusing the scripturas for gain personally, aka, judgment for being Zealot rebels of that day, hence the three of them being tried and crucified together on the same charges against the Pharisees but Jesus TRULY being taken to Pilate for saying he was King which would cause Caesar's wrath, a sure bet Pilate would crucify Him for that reason though their truer motive was to shut Him up from speaking against THEM not Caesar.
Also, I ponder that if we go to heaven or hell right away what is the use of the resurrection of the dead, if they already exist in form there?
These ponderings are what the ancients called "midrashing" in the Hebrew, coming together to reason, and it is good even if we can not go beyond pondering until God reveals ll. I truly do appreciate you guys so very much, thank you and God bless you always and more, you and all you love.

What's that process exactly? Been listening to these guys since episode 1 of the podcast. I've taken notes followed with their Bible study, and still my life is the same miserable mess its always been . I see so many comments on here of how they have changed so and so life blah blah blah

After witnessing my grandfather and recently my father transition to the afterlife, both of them had their eyes closed and said they were ready. Very specifically my dad had his eyes closed, shook his head yes, and said verbally “I’m ready to go to him”. When I asked him if it was Jesus he shook his head yes! I see what the scripture says, but I also know what I’ve witnessed. I think we go to Heaven or hell immediately.

Jesus went to Sheol,where the righteous dead we’re awaiting the payment for sin. Abraham’s bosom. Remember Lazarus and the rich man. Good on one side,evil on the other. He preached to the captive’s and set captivity free. Hence,paradise means Sheol. So how do guys not know this,saying we don’t really know where he went? Also. He who ascended first descended into the heart of the earth.

Concerning where Jesus went for three days after His death on the cross, would it not be logical for a Man who has all he sins of entire world, past, present, and future, put upon Him, to be condemned to hell - the place of the truly dead? And would it not be a greater miracle for God to raise Jesus from the truly dead (condemned to hell) than to merely raise Him from the type of death (sleep) that Jesus and His Apostles raised many from? The resurrection of Jesus takes on a much greater meaning when it is the only time in scripture that someone is brought back from eternal death. Just a thought.
All that the apostles raised died again.
Jesus is alive. He did not go to hell he satisfied Gods wrath and took the punishment of it.

We need to be glad that Jesus went down to hell, and got back what Adam turned over, which was the keys to death ,hell and the grave, and he led captivity captive, and delivered the saints on the righteous side of sheol, and on that day, when he took all the saints out, hell enlarged itself, because there was no more need for a compartment for the righteous, because Jesus made a way to go directly to heaven with him
He went and got the keys of hell, during those 3 days.

2 Corinthians 5:8 says “to be absent from the body is to be present WITH the Lord”
As a believer after we die, our soul goes to heaven and we’re in the presence of the Lord we’re in heaven with that great cloud of witnesses. I don’t really understand why you guys are having a Seventh-day Adventist theology. I’m disappointed in this.
